@sarahthes it's a poor strategy in my opinion to make those people "happy" who were affected by that problem but like I said poor strategy cause they're literally ignoring everyone else and actually not gonna lie I don't feel like I wanna go on the PTS anymore after this cause it feels like a big joke ... I was on the PTS too the next day and guess what ... I'm not getting my 16k endeavors for no reason. So isn't that "unfair" too?? I want my radiant apex mount worth 50-500 bucks for free too :(

I'm just saying .... it's not fair towards the other people either ... I get the boxes and style pages somehow but the endeavors are just an overkill and unfair ... most people had to deal with lag/ping and couldn't play either ... I wasn't able to play in cyrodiil where only 4 people played whileI was on and I'm not kidding about it and I had over 800 ping and no ... it's not because of my connection or my PC cause that one is brand new ... it's the server stability that has been damaged and no one cares about that ... I get it ... people that were banned are mad and deserve a compensation but overkilling it won't help it either ... cause guess what those 2 event extension days ... some of us don't care about it ... the fact remains that the endeavors had nothing to do with that cause the 45 endeavors per day you get are not even close to the 16k they got

but why are you mad about being able to log in? i too have high ping (eu playing on na) i would have been happy with plus and thats it, but the fact they realised what they did wrong and understand why locking players out for 4+ days might make them mad, the compensation is great! if you dont like it thats fine, but we were literally LOCKED OUT of the best event of the year + our cores or what ever everyone else likes to do. we didnt ask or do anything for this, im one of the first to call out zos when they do something bad but this time they actually did good!

@sarahthes I get the style pages but the endeavors seriously??? 16k .... people spend around 50 - 500 bucks to get a radiant apex mount ... it's just not fair

It is fair, people are currently locked out of their accounts for almost 4 days now, possibly more depending how fast they can restore them. They've had to deal with the stress of seeing their account get "banned" for simply testing things for zos for free on the pts and not being able to play the game. I got all the style pages within the first 3 days of the event, so 16k seals is fair compensation to me. I still can't play or login to my account.

People are being jealous, petty, and envious. But those players deserve this for having to deal with perhaps the worst mistake zos has ever done. Again, the players who got locked out, are some of the most loyal, dedicated, and excited players that were willing to wait all day and log into the pts the first hour it went online.

We got locked out of our accounts for no fault of our own for voluntarily beta testing for ZOS. No, this does not feel too strong. It's enough to make most of us happy.

    how much endeavors was actually lost? 1 week = (a good week) 250 + (45 x 7 = 315) = 565
so obviously 16 THOUSAND is a fair and balanced return, although it sounds like they still want More.
how long does it take to farm enough to get the style pages? probably more than 30 minutes Many players with 20 days won't get them all
25 jubilee Packs for FREE NOBODY can get 25 for FREE ... unless you were locked out. The rest of us had to spend something - 1250 crowns or use 15 event tickets to get the last 5.

And yet they still want MORE for their 'hardship' of not having to actually do all the work necessary to collect all that stuff.

    Hard to sympathize.

    ROFL 😆 🤣. Nice post.

So getting a temporary suspension gets players a lot of free participation rewards-- noted ✅️.

A totally UNJUSTIFIED temporary suspension in that the affected players had done nothing wrong.
I think you would have been quite upset to not be able to log into the game during a double XP event with lots of rewards and no idea when you would be able to again, not to mention any group activities or guild responsibilities you might be cut off from. I think most people would be upset, perhaps especially among those invested enough to log onto the PTS.

I’m glad that ZOS worked to make things right this time. I’m glad too for the outfit tokens and XP scrolls for the deleted outfits (that one did effect me, and it was more compensation than I was expecting, so left me with a positive rather than negative feeling). This does not negatively impact anyone, nor even the economy.

If WoW treated you badly, I’m sorry to hear that, all the more reason it’s better you’re here now and I’m glad to never have touched that game! (:

I'll take the event extension as my "compensation", i have gotten millions in crafting mats and tons of style pages.
And i'll have a few days more to farm even more.

I understand why folks would be envious, but at the same time- people who test things for free on the pts are helping game developers by finding bugs, exploits, testing difficulty, functionality, etc etc, all for free. They essentially do the work of Quality Assurance Testers but without a paycheck. The pts may be fun for some, but above all it's a place to test their product and help them out. To then be banned for five days because of a massive bug (for thousands of players likely), it makes sense they would go out of their way to compensate for that, because they unintentionally scared the heck out of a lot of players who test on the pts for fear of their characters being deleted. Devs want to encourage players to test their stuff, and this compensation package will make sure players trust their devs.

I wasn't affected so I won't be getting any compensation and I think it's fine. The only change I'd make is to include event tickets, but maybe there's no way to give people event tickets if it would take them over the limit.

Yes 16,000 seals is a lot, but it only allows them to get crown crate cosmetics. I suspect that's the 'bonus' apology, whereas the rest is simply what they would likely have gotten anyway playing the anniversary event.

Back in 2020 Guild Wars 2 had a much more minor problem where the EU servers kept crashing and rolling back. It was fixed within 24 hours but required taking the servers offline (which is almost unheard of in that game, even maintenance and expansion launches are done with the servers online) and some players lost a few hours of progress due to rollbacks. They gave everyone affected a voucher to choose a free cash shop mount skin, worth several hundred gold.

This seems comparable (although for a more serious and longer-term problem) - affected players get to choose a nice cosmetic item as an apology. It won't give them any kind of gameplay advantage and has no impact on those who don't get it, but shows ZOS understand how the problem affected players who were tempoarily banned through no fault of their own.

I think maybe if it were half, like 8000 seals, I wouldn't be so hard-pressed to think that it was a good decision, but 16,000 is many months of grinding for the avg. pve player.

A single mistake shouldn't garner that much appeal to those who have NOT lost event time and playtime, albeit it is a big mistake, but those getting the compensation have to deal with that inconvenience for several days, provided ZOS can deliver in a week... In addition, they were given codes to continue playing only yesterday - unlike those of us unaffected.

@Xandreia_ I'm not mad of being able to log in ... I'm just saying that we all had to struggle somehow and it doesn't feel fair to get a 16k endeavor compensation. I get the event things cause it's an event that's going on but the endeavors literally have nothing to do with that. Don't get me wrong ... I've been playing eso for 8 years now too and I never got any kind of compensation worth 50-500 bucks for ZoS and I wasn't able to play for days too sometimes due to server stability etc. I'm happy for all the players who get the compensation cause it's not their fault and they shouldn't have been banned ... but I think giving that amount of endeavors is just triggering given the fact that the server stability is awful the last few days. And guess what I'm also playing on NA from EU and I normally have a really stable connection but since that happened it went up to 800 and more during the day ... so yeah ... we all suffer somehow and we don't get the same benefits ... like I said it's just my opinion and I think the endeavors are an overkill ... not saying you have to agree with it

    They don't deserve it.

That's way way too much. What about everyone else? What about me spending far too many hours actually hoping and praying to find the style pages? This is just like what about all the work I put into farm every weapon out of Vet Maelstrom and Vet Vateshran and then you guys turn around and hold these 2 for 1 drops for the arena weapons (which I was not aware of at the time). I swear it feels like it's happening again with this now.

This is a slap in the face to most of the community. An act of God, which happens, should never require this level of atonement. ZOS did nothing wrong, problems just happen.

In the words of St Olms, this is neither fair nor just. And in the words of Vulkunne, I say again, you guys didn't work for any of this stuff and you do not deserve it. Its a big disrespect and make me happy I have by and large stopped buying Crowns.

Is this for real? You want lower compensations, because you don't get it, but you forget that one day you may be affected by situation like this and then you will want more than less :D

I had stressfull days this week because of work and normally I would play eso for some relax, but instead I was locked for not my fault, I still don't know for how long, first 3 days I didn't even know if I'm missing all these extra endavours from thieves celebration - not to mention loosing A LOT of gold from daily writs and event boxes (and with each days rewards from boxes loose value - it's not optimal to farm them at end of event). It was a lot of stress and negative emotions, so this compensation was necessary step to switch bad experience into good one. I was affected with last update also and lost 10 outfit scrolls and to be honest - xp scrolls and outfit tokens (after month of waiting) were really lame and minimalistic compensation (it was some work to recreate these outfits, not only cost in gold)

Personally I was almost ready to quit game if it would get a xp scrolls and a pet, after this distaster but luckily this time they showed some class, so please - as players don't demand nerf into things like this, because one day you will be on other side and theh we will see if you really want minimalistic reward for all trouble.

At first blush, I'm mostly in the "I appreciate the gesture" camp rather than the "that's great" camp. I'm not one of those players who particularly cares about Seals of Endeavor. I buy occasional motifs with them and they will get used eventually, but they are low-priority objectives for me and there have been many days when I haven't hit even one endeavor and probably even more missed weeklies (low-priority means I often don't even look).

The Jubilee Boxes are appreciated and they were a major reason for logging in each day during the event. For me, the main loss while being locked out was the lost purple coffers. The two-day event extension covers the coffers I lost on Monday/Tuesday, but not the ones I lost on Wednesday and today (probably). To be fair to ZOS on this point, I have absolutely no idea how that could be rectified with a one-size-fits-all solution which only applies to the locked out accounts. The coffer contents are RNG rather than anything specific and "here's a bunch of coffers" would probably overload the inventories of any of my characters, not to mention the Bank mess in sorting out the contents.

The confetti packs are "OK." The five in the Jublilee Boxes would have put me back on track for finishing the mount by the end of the event. I'd already spent event tickets for a couple or three because the event announcement said I would need to do that and I planned accordingly. The 25 confetti packs mostly means I won't need to spend those six or nine event tickets to finish. Anything beyond the ones I'd already collected/bought and the 25 needed for the mount mostly goes to Aetherius or its digital equivalent, as far as I know. I'm not sure how this would be seen by someone who wasn't working on getting the mount (it's a horse with braids, so I get it if it's not pegging on the coolness scale).

As far as the event goes, the two-day event extension combined with not having to buy those two or three extra confetti packs means a more-or-less wash in terms of event tickets and what I had planned to do with them. Whether it actually is a wash depends on how quickly the unlock/rollback goes into effect, but it's certainly not over-compensating.

The style pages are nice. I wasn't really farming them aside from being a bit more diligent about doing Fighters Guild dailies, but the goal was extra event coffers and any style page which dropped would have been gravy.

My ESO Plus subscription runs through Steam, so the extra month is reasonable rather than being overboard (one month is the minimum subscription period), but I appreciate the extra crowns. Not quite sure how that's actually going to work since I subscribe annually, but my renewal is coming up in the summer, so we'll see.
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.

The replica style pages being given without doing anything about the drop rate for those of us that haven't been able to play how we want for days either because of these extremely low drop rates honestly has me seeing red.

I think it's fair except for the style pages. Some players have been putting in hours and hours to try for those pages and haven't been blessed by good RNG. I'm not one of them, but if I was, I'd be upset that the style pages will be handed to players who haven't earned them.

I don't have a problem with the rest of the items (which alone would have been generous), but items that some players won't get despite having put in hours (days?) of game time shouldn't have been included.

Do they not? Players spend countless hours on the pts testing their product for them and gain nothing (except for this instance where zos accidentally goofed). When you play on the pts, you're putting in hours and hours of time and earning literally nothing (no achievements, no items, no gold...none of it matters because it's a test server), except for the rare few who do it to finish the new trial right when it comes to live. They quite literally work for it because the pts exists so players can test their product and provide FREE feedback.

Just my 2 cents, I could give a *** less about this "compensation". I have already grinded all the style pages, so I get another bound style page I can't use.
16K seals of endeavors, I guess a lot of people go out of their way to get these, I do not, if I get them doing stuff I normally do I get them, if I don't, I just don't get them.
What I do care about is the 20 characters of daily crafting writs I did monday, and the "normal" compensation I get for completing that. I care about the 20 additional crafting writs that I would have done every other day that I would have logged in. I care about the random normals I had done on monday and the ones I would have completed if this hadn't happened, and I care about the vet pledges I completed on monday and may have done every other day (except I took monday off so no guarantee I would have done those everyday). I care about the trial groups I am in that I have had to let down because I cannot participate. Also I was planning to tank vKA HM this weekend which I am sure some think is easy, but I do not, so the build I finished up on monday I will have to recreate from scratch, and the planned warmups I had planned through the week are now scrapped because I cannot play so my rotation will probably be garbage. So really this isn't compensation too me just some [snip].
