Emotions are just that, emotions. What matters is how people choose to act based on them. For me? This makes me want to advocate towards ZOS getting it through their heads that RNG grinds are an outdated engagement model in the MMO industry. It might pad the numbers for the boardroom (more active players!) but in the end it leads to a sharp decline in retention. It's 2024, not the early 2000s. MMOs need to move on from this.

And no, I'm not going to attack the players who were compensated for their lock out, because that is a good move.

On world of warcraft, there was this one time my account was locked for 30 days due to a mistake made on their end. I wasn't complaining about it and they never gave me free stuff. The only reward I got was that my account was re-opened and finally got to play again. I never asked for anything (free rewards) in return.

Now I wished my account was locked in eso during that time🙃.

I also feel so bad for Zenimax employees for having to deal with these issues and complaints. Does Zenimax employees get any special rewards for all of their hard work to keep the game running and operational too😥?

I think the Zenimax employees who resolved the issue should get awesome rewards as well.

I very much agree with your statement on this. Players who were locked out of their account for only 2 days get all this free stuff including a huge amount of seals of endeavors. This isn't really fair to the rest of the players who never were locked out of their accounts. For a player who didn't get affected, it will take him/her many months of daily grinding to get 16k seals of endeavors.

I also agree that the amount should be lowered to 8k as well.

An ongoing trend is, its always a few players who overly complain about something that's temporary (such as not being able to play the game for 2 days). Then they make demands to get all this free stuff along with additional changes. Later they realize that complaining does get them everything they want, so they will keep on doing it. Which will eventually end up going downhill.

When the PC/NA server went down a few days ago, I was at work. The other maintenance was on my day off. I decided to go outside, embrace nature, and enjoy the nice warm springtime weather. Then my frustration disappeared and later everything turned out alright.

Thank goodness your opinion is not the one that counts then.

Yeah, it's called a paycheck, and if they were made to work overtime then they're getting overtime pay I'm sure.

And maybe you should have asked for compensation if you were wrongfully locked out for an entire month. You not doing so isn't our fault, not to mention equating any random month (which I would agree no matter what is way, way too long of a time to be locked out of a paid account/subscription) with a week during the biggest event of the past decade in a completely separate game just has way too many variable to be comparable.

I have an idea that might balance it out a little... they could do a special thing where they can release all the crown crates onto the store for crowns, crown gems, and seals of endeavors and it could have a 1 week period. if they cant do all 30 crates then at least 5 returning crates that they originally planned like 4 months down the line

I don't know, it does seem like a bit of a slap in the face, actually more like a full on sucker punch, for some people to have grinded two weeks now and not gotten some of those rare style pages, yet someone who only logged onto the PTS just to test out how the new character they made looked before making it on live, gets all the pages and seven months worth of seals as well.

Talk about over compensation.

It was messed up what happened to those accounts that were locked because of ZOS's incompetence. But this level of compensation is just alienating those who also did nothing wrong but still will end this years 10 year Jubilee with none of the "rewards" just casually handed out to anyone who happened to log into the PTS in a 2 hour window.

That is like double RNG messed up.

I lost a day of game play because of this! My acct was not locked. By the time I got off work and logged on it was offline. The server came back up at 2:30AM EST! I'm sleeping! Where's my compensation? I know I'm not the only one! I missed out on my endeavors, daily log in reward, gold box and tickets for the event... just to start! [snip]!?

It is called salary, and it is paid according to your duties.

I work in digital forensics, and you have no idea how much garbage i see, and i have never complained.

It's part of the job, it goes with the salary, if i don't like it then i'll look for another job.

They need people to test it before it goes live. Our work is free, and we get a free ban. So no, the compensation is not too strong

I'm just saying .... it's not fair towards the other people either ... I get the boxes and style pages somehow but the endeavors are just an overkill and unfair ... most people had to deal with lag/ping and couldn't play either ... I wasn't able to play in cyrodiil where only 4 people played whileI was on and I'm not kidding about it and I had over 800 ping and no ... it's not because of my connection or my PC cause that one is brand new ... it's the server stability that has been damaged and no one cares about that ... I get it ... people that were banned are mad and deserve a compensation but overkilling it won't help it either ... cause guess what those 2 event extension days ... some of us don't care about it ... the fact remains that the endeavors had nothing to do with that cause the 45 endeavors per day you get are not even close to the 16k they got

They were/are locked out of playing without any wrongdoing on their side for several days.

The compensation is absolutely justified and a sign of hope regarding zos trying to improve failure management imo.

No need to be envious because we weren't affected by an unjustified temporarily ban.

I rather not be able to play instead of having that experience ... cause then at least you can say you were not on were doing smth else

If you'd gone out of your way to help make the game better and gotten a ban for your troubles thru no fault of your own you could get 16K endeavors too.

You should really reread what you're posting and think about how you're coming across. It's not flattering.

I don't recall that lag at all. Been playing daily, in all forms on content and ran into no lag/connection issues.

Having not had the issues of my account being locked, I feel this is very fair compensation for those affected.

Some ESO players are really bizarre... TOO MUCH? REALLY????

Most players don't have a single damn thing of this list after hundreds hours of grinding and playtime. It is a nice compensation AND I THINK It IS VERY WELCOME.

Stop thinking about yourself and start to think about ten of thousands of other players. ESO is a huge community, THINK OUTSIDE YOUR DAMN BOX.

Jeez some people is really sick of selfishness in this game.

Damn hard not to have a tiny amount of envy at 16k seals. But I’d be lying to say I would not be super mad not being able to play. So I’m just happy you all got something as compensation. (Here’s to hoping I can get up to that number before the end of the year, only 7k to go)
