Isn't the compensation too strong?

Honestly, I wouldn't actually want that. It would make the game a bit more boring never getting any levels. Even being an extremely high CP level already, it's still nice to get a little 'ding' now and again. One day when I hit 3600 CP, I won't get that anymore, but at least I'll have earned it. I'll take the rest of the compensation happily instead!

Is it too late to be banned? I'll take a week off for 16k seals and 50+ hours worth of motifs.

I think it's great move. Being locked out of your account really really should not have happened, especially to "beta" testers.
If it were me i'd have been pretty happy with the compensation for not being able to play for 2-3 days.

It feels like a good apology to the affected, and it shows ZOS will own up to their mistake if a similar situation is ever going to happen again (hopefully not)

See, ZOS has a problem now.

Prior to this it was certainly assumed by most players that the PTS is secure from the live server, when it is in fact very much not. Knowing this, the damage could've been much worse. It's essentially impossible to get that trust back.

So now there needs to be an incentive to risk lockouts, or even the possibility of permanent damage to one's account, if one is to join a PTS cycle.

So if it feels like "man, I wish my account had been locked" for the rewards, then they're doing it right, because that's what's needed now if they want to continue to get free QA testing from the community. Honestly I would've sweetened the deal with free Plus or something else.

I 'already' have over 30k endeavors on NA, and maybe around 13k or so on EU, so 16k isn't a huge perk for me?

I also had like 20+ confetti parts on both server, so uh.... I pretty much already have the pony (I have it on my alt already).

So... no, this isn't 'really' enough, especially if the rewards are only on PC/NA.

Not to mention all the purple boxes I'm missing out on during the event (I mostly grind these on NA).

This is the biggest event of the year, so I farm it like crazy. so I seriously had most of this already....

So in 'my' case, can't speak for others, the only real benefit is getting the rest of the style pages that I hadn't already farmed.
That is kind of nice, since that grind has been PURE HELL.

I think they erred on the side of too much this time since it's the middle of an event, during their 10th anniversary celebration, for the PTS that they are pushing to get people to buy their latest chapter.
It's like a perfect storm of potential bad press if they don't properly 'make it right'.
So can't really blame them for going above and beyond (in their eyes).

In what universe could they justify only compensating PC-NA locked accounts? They've never said anything like that and I'm sure there's a 0.0% chance of it playing out that way.

@ZOS_Kevin @ZOS_GinaBruno can you quash this? I've seen it come up a few times today...

I agree with the rest, with the exception of 16k thousand Seals of Endeavor, don't you think that 16k is a lot? considering that the players have only been in the bathhouse for a few days and how long does it take to collect such an amount? Why not change this number to 8k? What do you think about this?

And here i thought that nothing on the forum could surprise me anymore...

How does it affect you if they receive 16k, 32k, 64k?

    jealousy? envy?

    i'm happy for them.

    Participation rewards for this? Noted.

I very much agree with your statement on this. Players who were locked out of their account for only 2 days get all this free stuff including a huge amount of seals of endeavors. This isn't really fair to the rest of the players who never were locked out of their accounts. For a player who didn't get affected, it will take him/her many months of daily grinding to get 16k seals of endeavors.

I also agree that the amount should be lowered to 8k as well.

An ongoing trend is, its always a few players who overly complain about something that's temporary (such as not being able to play the game for 2 days). Then they make demands to get all this free stuff along with additional changes. Later they realize that complaining does get them everything they want, so they will keep on doing it. Which will eventually end up going downhill.
When the PC/NA server went down a few days ago, I was at work. The other maintenance was on my day off. I decided to go outside, embrace nature, and enjoy the nice warm springtime weather. Then my frustration disappeared and later everything turned out alright.

I think Zos rocked it on the compensation for locked out accounts. While I'm glad I didn't get shut out, I would have been very okay had I been and received even half of this package.

Kudos to Zos on fair compensation!

Where are we getting "2 days" from? Locked accounts are nearing the *4* day mark with no resolution in sight other than tomorrow at the "soonest".

The fact that they went public with the rewards gives me hope that it will be tomorrow, but no one knows yet.

I'm going to completely disagree with you. What the account lockout did was completely erode people's trust in the company because testing things on pts suddenly was shown to risk live accounts.

They absolutely have to compensate generously for their screwup. Otherwise nobody would ever test anything on the pts again. And that would be incredibly detrimental to the game.

Over the years I've seen ZOS getting criticized for handling something poorly or doing too little, but seeing ZOS getting criticized because they did too much is a first... I think the compensation was a great move from ZOS--having no access to one's account is a big bummer, especially during an event, so it's nice that ZOS came through with the gifts for the players affected by the PTS fiasco. This show of good will for players being inconvenienced by bugs is unprecedented and it's really cool of ZOS, so it should be encouraged, not bemoaned...

16K seals of endeavors and all the rare style pages. Wow. Congratulations to those who had their accounts blocked. Really wish it had been me now lol. That is like SEVEN MONTHS worth of seals for only three days of downtime! Major result!

    Oh how the pendulum swings.

I think it is fine. It is also very generous, so I think that is some form of um... apology or something like that.

And just to be clear I do not envy or anything as I was lucky and did not logged on PTS that fateful day.

The only thing I hope for is that all of those things are account bound so that it would not mess the economy or something, but then again I have no clue how many accounts were effected.

Day *5* of lockdown will start in a few hours. Not 2.

I already had farmed all those rare style pages before getting locked out of my main account, but I am still not complaining since these rewards will allow me to still end up with the jubilee event mount. Those 16k seals look pretty sweet as well since that is basically a free radiant apex mount of my choosing. This outcome is much better than I thought it would be.

Absolutely, that is the question. Although with no cross server contact it's not really -double- it's just compensation accessible on both. And for clarity, I was not locked out, I think the compensation is fair, and I hope people get it on both servers if they play both.

there is no envy here, to get so much for one player, it takes a long time to collect and save them, but here they just give away 16 thousand for a few days of ban, and this is not to mention that not only "Seals of diligence" are distributed, I am glad that the players will be compensated But I still think 16k is a lot.

Wow and I farmed for 4 days for the style page in Summerset ... guess it would have been better to log on the PTS that day for getting everything for free instead ... ngl kinda feels unfair ... cause guess what ... we all had to play with lag etc. during those days while everyone wasn't able to log on ... I know it's not the players' fault but seriously this feels like a big joke to everyone else ZoS. Also the 16k endeavors??? Seriously?? No one gets that amount in a week and this problem occurred like 3 or 4 days ago ... that's basically an radiant apex mount for free and everyone else has to pay for those with money? How is that fair towards us all??? Most of us have been playing with lag for 3 days now with a ping of 800 and couldn't do anything either and what do we get as "compensation"? Nothing! Cause we were able to "log on" but no one cares about the server stability and quality of course and how often we got kicked out of the game ...

But they've lost their opportunity to farm for the pages, period, if they didn't get them before getting locked out.
