Here are my own personal suggestions based entirely on this game eso and what i want to improve my experience. I love this game.

    1. For me the jump from normal trials to vet trials is too steep, i would like an intermediate level or make normal trials a bit closer in difficulty to vet trials. Normal trials should train players to be able to beat vet trials.
2.we also should not have to download a whole lot of addon helpers for trials.
    3. There should be group trial finder just like there is for dungeons
    4. Pledges should not include dlc dungeons and if they must they should offer higher rewards
    5. Gear farming in dungeons, at least in dlc dungeons need to have better drop rates. I cant spend thecrest of my years trying to get that one piece of gear i need. Its not as bad in trials.

These improvements would really bring more joy to my gaming experience in eso.

Good ideas here, thanks! Let's hope ZOS will appreciate this feedback

I think many of your ideas are more the type of thing you would consider when making a new game rather than an existing game.

I'm sure most of us don't exactly love when things go down for updates/maintenance when we want to use them but, it's likely that redesigning things to avoid that at this point would significantly hamper content production for a while. SWTOR had a functionality to download while playing and annoyances from how the software behaved later on caused me more of a hassle than the time I saved by being able to play the game a bit sooner.

Some games have done a good job with underwater environments and mounted combat but, a bunch of games have also failed or had mixed results in those endeavors. I don't think either would really be worth the investment at this stage.

The financial model that games follow isn't necessarily going to be easy to adjust once it's set.

I agree. Fortunately for us, it's ZOS's problem, not ours. We don't pay them to make their lives easy for them, it's their job to improve.

Thanks, but to make it clear - not my ideas, I simply copied what other people wrote.
Many companies implemented changes like that in existing games so it's definitely possible and most of it is not rocket science. But just to be the devil's advocate, even if these were things that require writing a new game then, well, considering how much we pay for ESO+ AND expansions every year (not to mention crowns), effectively we are paying ZOS for delivering more than one AAA game every year, aren't we 😉? It's like we buy new full AAA games from ZOS every year. They should be able to match the effort that many other companies put into their products.
Unfortunately, a lot of not most MMORPG publishers seem to have gotten complacent and, what's even worse, managed to train their customers into lowering their expectations to an unnecessary low level. It's good for such corporations in the short-term but very bad in the long run

Ah bah. I said I quit playing them because I wasn't happy with them. I'm not advocating anyone play them, and for years here I've said I played them and moved on after I got tired of them - moved on to ESO in fact.... as well as Oblivion and Skyrim.

Well, I certainly don't have anything against your (or anyone else) mentioning other companies and games. I was just trying to help and save you some trouble. I also thought it was okay and did exactly the same thing - mentioned some other games that compared favourably with ESO by name in the hope that such feedback would be useful to ZOS and allowed them to improve their product & services. Unfortunately, my post was deleted and I was temporarily banned from this forum. Until proven otherwise (in which case I would just stop putting any time and effort into this forum and move my threads to a bigger, uncensored forum, like MMO or gaming subreddits, in the hope that ZOS recognises good feedback there, when a larger audience is given a chance to react - after all, all of us players here love this game and want it to succeed, otherwise we wouldn't be wasting our time and energy writing anything here), I assume that ZOS acts in good faith and treats all cases of using other "brands" on this forum the same, irrespective of whether they praise or criticise other corporations or their products. Hence my suggestion that you should probably delete those names so that they don't get you banned, too. Please feel free to ignore, just trying to help

I asked around in some of my guilds and got some more improvements people think should be implemented. Here are some of the comments I've already got:

“Heard a lot of guys all those years begging for ZOS to finally add some new weapon. Why haven’t they yet? Because it’s easier to make us pay for the new arcanist class? I don’t care, make the weapon paid too.”

“Why is there no unarmed combat in this game?! It’s crazy! I did unarmed in previous TES games and I want to be given the same option in TESO!”

“Tru. and If they cant be bothered to add unarmed then how about they at least add a weapon style that looks like unarmed? You know, invisible daggers or a 1H weapon that looks like a gauntlet or whatevs. Thatsso easy to do. No excuse, should be done years ago”

“Yeah, I would buy a style like that today, take my $$$! but still want real unarmed in the future with kicks and other cool animations!”

“Zenimax must add the option for us to be able to do the old tutorials. That’s such a waste of content. I am redoing the Greymoor story now and I wasn’t able to create a new character that starts in Greymoor. I didn’t see all tutorial stories ever released. This sucks. Sure I could look for some videos on youtube but that’s not the same. It’s weird that they would spend all that money for producing cool tutorials for all those story lines and then they let them go to waste. I hope they fix it, come on!”

Does anyone reading this has any friends who’re able to come up with similar (or any other) ideas for improvements?

Another good ideas for what should be improved from this very forum:

    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/641053/att-zos-necromancer-is-a-missed-opportunity

I totally agree with this. I was very disappointed with my necromancer. At first I was in shock to be honest. I expected something really cool, like a necromancer I played in other games the names of which I will not mention here so that I am not banned again (which is a shame because if we were allowed to mention names of such games, it would make it very easy for ZOS devs to look at the examples we provide and improve the game even more). I still remember how in those other games you could command an army of minions, use death magic (we have resto/healing/life staves, why not an opposite staff for death magic? something related to the new weapons mentioned in the previous post), even when you used same weapons, all their skills looked different on a necromancer. That's how it should be. Not just a jumping skeletons which are an equivalent of fireballs ;)

Will we ever see necromancers in this game that look, feel and play like necromancers?

ESO is what it is. I hope they dedicate effort in writing and quality control, and keep on working with quality of life, performance and bug fixes.
I'd rather see a new, different (and better) MMO written from scratch on modern engine than ESO developed into something it is not now. ESO is far from perfect but I do play it and not some other current MMO for reason.

Speaking of more options for playable characters, why do we still have only a handful of classes? In another MMORPG (the name of which I will not mention here, but it's probably the closest to ESO in terms of how it approaches action combat, with dodging, aiming, bar swaps, and so on) there are:

    - 9 classes
    - each class has 4 different specialisations which completely changes the way you play and, in essence, turns that class into something else so what you are really offered are 9x4=36 classes
    - 19 different weapons
    - each profession utilizes weapons very differently (if you play a necro and you use a dagger you do feel you are playing a necro :) )
    - one-handed weapons can be dual wielded
    - a two-handed weapon gives you 5 weapon skills, a main hand weapon gives you 3, an off-hand weapon gives you 2 skills
    - there are two weapon bars you swap in combat (like in ESO), 5 skills each, so you get many weapon combinations and even more weapon x weapon x bar x class x specialisation combinations

So many options and most ppl playing both games consider the other one perfectly balanced compared to constant changes and balancing problems in ESO. So it can be done if the combat rules are well designed which means there is hope for ESO too.

You might ask, "What are you doing on the ESO forum then? Why don't you just go and play that other game"? Well, I do play the other game but I love TES and ESO, too, so I would like to see ESO get better. Some of the reasons why I still play ESO:

    - it's available on consoles, the other game is not
    - ESO has great controller support even on PC, the other game offers no native support for controllers, it's just m+k (well, you can remap and use a controller but it's not the same, the UI looks the same as for M+K, there is no analog movement, and you don't see controller buttons)
    - I like light-attack weaving, the other game doesn't have it (it's like wearing the Velothi Ur-Mage's Amulet and never performing a light attack - I do like combat in the other game, but also want to have a game like ESO where you can weave)
    - I like heavy attacks too, the other game doesn't have them (well, unless you think about some skills like about heavy attacks)
    - I like some hard-mode DLC dungeons / trials in ESO (I like raids/dungeons and so on in the other game too, but I don't want to give up the ones I like in ESO, why would I?)
    - I completed all TES games (including the archaic retro game The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall) - I like the TES universe (I like the other one too but don't want to give up TES)
    - I have guilds and lots of friends in ESO

So yeah, I do like and play both games and therefore I am invested in ESO getting even better (much better) than it already is. And because I played so many different games, I see very clearly that there is A LOT that can be improved in ESO. There is hope to make it MUCH better than it already is if there is will on ZOS's side.

The other MMOs I played "enough" were UO and Lineage 2.
I do not think anything from UO would fit or improve anything in this game.
From Lineage 2, well... I used to take part on some pretty massive castle sieges there. And the game worked. And the skills fired reliably. Even when it lagged, the skills still fired - with a proportional delay. I really cannot say the same about ESO. So, I would say that the main thing that needs to happen is making sure the combat system works reliably outside of pristine lab conditions.

Great suggestion and I think we are not the only ones who see this problem and would love to see it finally solved  In the other game I mentioned earlier in this thread there are no such lag problems either, so I agree, it is definitely possible and should have been fixed a very long time ago. I'm not sure why ZOS hasn't fixed it yet to be honest

How about if ZOS developed ESO into that different and better MMO you want?

Many of us don't want ZOS to let ESO slowly die by just doing the minimum work on small fixes, crown store consmetics, and neverending "balance" changes while they develop a "new MMO", because we invested A LOT of money and time into this one. We have characters, houses, achievements, friends and guilds here. We don't want to lose all this and just pack and move to a brand new MMO ZOS delivers. We want ZOS to work on ESO and slowly but surely modernise it and turn it into that new, wonderful MMO, with all our friends, characters, achievements and so on not lost. And, as I have written in an earlier post (https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/comment/7938923/#Comment_7938923 ), we do pay ZOS for more than one full AAA+ game every year. That should be more than enough. They should be able to match the effort that many other companies put into their products.

    1. Divide game in pve and pvp. This is a necessity for ESOs longterm survivability.
    2. Balance PvE based on strict rules, not based on META developement and the flavour of the hour.
    3. Shut down cyrodiil and make a lobby based pvp experience where we all have the equal chances when we enter the lobby. There is a reason why most shooters just work.
    4. New interface, where all elements can be controlled by the player. Let me decide what I want to see on screen!
    5. Explain the game. Make tutorials in the form of quests, where some NPCs explain things like endgame combat or economy or have an interactive grimoire with all housing items as a list. Or how to get into a Trial without having to zone chat for 2 hours!
If anyone here says: OH! But, PVP! I swear I'll ...

Auction House and gold for game tokens like WoW.

Hoot! Was waiting for someone to say auction house ;)

Please, less of this "I like WoW, so change it to WoW for me".

I can't understand why people can't accept it's a different game from others, and there's plenty of "improvements" listed here that would be incredibly decremental to this game no matter that they work in another.

More classes? More sub-classes? Not all of us are altaholics, plenty of us would prefer ways to add to our mains rather than go through the slog of levelling up the new meta class. I would have preferred a new "world" skill line rather than the arcanist... I didn't get my wish, so I didn't buy the chapter:)

But I don't want to change a game that many people are perfectly happy with just to meet my desires.

So true. I don't want any of the changes proposed, as I'm perfectly happy to pay three subs to play THIS game just as it is right now.

The ONLY thing I really want (and it's assuredly not for myself) is for the pvp crew to get some new stuff for Cyro.

What's wrong with having the auction house available to everyone instead of the fragmented market and all the toxicity associated with guild traders and crown trading scams?

Since you didn't say "all", which wouldn't be detrimental?
More classes? More sub-classes? Not all of us are altaholics, plenty of us would prefer ways to add to our mains rather than go through the slog of levelling up the new meta class.

The number of available classes has nothing to do with your having just one character, does it? There are people though, who either like to have many characters, or who want to have a larger selection of character classes or races for the only character they will create. At any rate, having more options does not harm your playing with just one character, does it?

As a PvP customer of 3 years, I get the distinct impression that the people on the combat development team do not actually play PvP enough to design the game well.

Compared to other games (Call of Duty, Halo) ESO is weirdly unbalanced, buggy, and just not a quality experience.

Some classes outperform others to a ridiculous extent. A few gear sets overperform to the point where every seriously competitive player has to run the same build.

So, to be constructive: I wish the combat development team would play PvP a lot more— and on all classes. AND that they would communicate their thoughts, plans, and vision for ESO PvP more frequently and candidly.
