    Another way to improve EA:

    4. Please keep adding new locations (and, possibly, bosses) so that there is more and more variety and it gets more interesting with every update.

Went through the Endless Archive. It’s definitely a step in the right direction. My suggestions 1-4 (see above) still stand (in particular, the first arc is good and should stay, but players who go for leaderboards should have the option to skip it because it is just too easy (even for solo) and forcing everyone to waste ten or more minutes of our busy lives every single time we want to do an Endless Archive run is tedious and may put some of us off).

But I have already written about it above so it’s not the reason I’m writing this post. I have yet another suggestion for an improvement that I believe should make EA even more attractive. Please make EA currency exchangeable to other ingame currencies. I’m talking about tel var, AP, and writs. I think one can already get gold. I believe that would make more players interested in going through EA on a regular basis as it would effectively become a great new way of acquiring many different rewards already available in game (e.g. some furniture or PvP sets). In order for this to work, the exchange rate would have to be set at a point which makes sense. E.g. buying 5000 gold for an hour of time spent in EA won’t cut it. EA would need to become a viable way of getting these other currencies in order to increase the player’s engagement. It’s super easy to implement (could even add it before U40 lands on live) and I do believe it is a great idea that would make EA much more attractive to everyone

I have a question for you. I have seen some stream runs and been asking some on PTS forum, as I don´t have access to PTS - Im on console.

Would you bring a healer to EA ?

I haven't got enough experience in EA yet so my initial feelings with regards to this may be totally incorrect but for duo runs I would prefer either two self-sufficient DDs or a tank and a DD. I would also probably avoid bringing companions as they would must likely just die to boss mechanics and aoes on higher levels so better just go solo and don't compete with duo players (see some of the earlier posts)... when I used a sorcerer, even my pets were dying like flies. I may be wrong though, maybe having a healer would help, especially if it was a tanky healer with a taunt, major and minor beach & major courage etc?

Thank You very much for answer. Yes I do agree - even with a healer with a strong dps backbar, but without a taunt, and good resistance, will be problematic.

    Thank You

That's why it is so surreal to me to see a few accounts on this forum that constantly oppose literally any work done on the game and say things like [...] I am not mocking anyone, just paraphrasing so that it is easy to understand why I find what's happening here so surreal.

Maybe it's so surreal, because it isn't actually true. Maybe you can't understand why people are seemingly against everything, because they actually aren't - you just paint them in that light and put even valid and constructive criticism completely out of context with your "paraphrasing".

It seems to me that you're on the other side of the extreme: You have collected a massive list of suggestions - all credit to you and the contributors for that. But you just accept every suggestion as "great" and "amazing", even if they actually aren't. And without any detailing and consolidation, none of it is actionable.

If you were a product manager at ZOS, would you rather read through an unorganized list of hundreds of suggestions, including vague one-liners, duplicates, and perhaps even contradictions? Or look at 20 focused threads with in-depth definitions of specific ideas? I think at this point you have an amazing opportunity to help consolidate the feedback you solicited into something more helpful. For inspiration, have a look at this thread of QoL suggestions (and compare its community reactions to your original post).

It would be great if you can turn this positive energy and the many contributions in this thread into more concrete proposals.

Thanks. Maybe your problem is that you are too negative towards ideas of improvements presented by all the kind souls who have taken time out of their busy schedules to share them in this thread and thus they kindly made positive action to improve the game for everyone. Consider embracing constructive criticism from others who generously contribute their ideas. Disagreement with their assessments doesn't necessarily render the ideas objectively unimpressive; it's a matter of subjective perspective, which may differ. In other words, the fact that you disagree with those who consider these ideas great or amazing does not mean that they objectively are not amazing. It is just your opinion and you may be wrong… and my personal opinion is that you most likely are

For your future reference, your utilising sweeping judgements such as "those suggestions aren’t actually amazing or great" is not constructive at all, and seeing someone responding like this to hundreds of suggestions of improvements shared by almost a hundred people who shared their ideas in this thread is, well, surreal

Speaking of the surreal part and your response to it, not sure if it was just baiting or your unconscious bias, but you have clearly taken it out of context. There were only two or three accounts who repeatedly and persistently attacked the idea that any change or improvement is needed at all, including suggestions of improvements such as "bug X should be fixed", or claimed that they couldn’t speak for the devs but the devs were to busy to improve anything. So yeah, that was surreal

All in all, there were literally just a few negative voices in this whole thread. Customers responded overwhelmingly in favour of improvements and shared lots of wonderful ideas on how to make ESO better than it currently is.

If I were a product manager at ZOS, I would be immensely grateful that customers used their vast experience in this and other games to create a vast repository of ideas they think would work great in ESO and kindly made it available for me to explore.

First thought - separate PvP and PvE. No overlapping map - or make it instanced so PvE content can be completed (same for PvPers' content).

Then work on the PvP part of the game so those players who enjoy the style can actually play without the bug-fest!!!

Thanks  Are you listening ZOS? Yet another vote for separating PvP from PvE like it has been done in a certain other action-combat MMORPG that cannot be named here. It works great there.

Grand Master Crafting Stations are a step in the right direction but they desperately need improvement:
    • they should not be "bind on pickup" - in many guilds, the burden of furnishing the guild house is shared among senior members of the guild; having them "bind on pickup" makes this impossible and puts even more burden on the already overburdened guild masters; healthy and thriving guilds = healthy and thriving community, more players, and higher retention
    • we should be able to lock them to prevent accidental loss - accidentally destroying one, especially after you fed almost a hundred attuned stations to it, would be catastrophic
    • attunement level (I.e. how many and which set-attuned stations one has fed to their grandmaster stations) should be stored using the grand master station owner’s new account achievement(s), it should not be per station - this will prevent HUGE accidental loss of almost a hundred attuned stations when someone accidentally destroys their grand master station; it would also encourage people to work on more than one house - getting 400 attunable stations PER each house one wants to decorate is unrealistic and off putting
    • they should be much cheaper to get - by itself, a grand master station does LESS than a simple attuned station - one must still spend vouchers to get all the attuned stations in order for the grand master station to be useful; why make it even more expensive than it already is for guild masters? Especially if the goal is to ameliorate the negative effects of the historically bad design decision that overly limited space for items in our houses; if the reason for this unreasonably high price is the idea to sell them in the crown store then it would be a dark pattern in game design and as such should be abandoned

Another improvement that I feel is necessary concerns companions:

I did Endless Archive solo and in a duo. Then I tried with a companion (we need a separate leaderboard for player+companion - see my earlier posts about EA improvements in this thread). Companions are a great idea, and for many players they have become an important part of the game (e.g. because they allow the player to play alone to immerse themselves in the game and yet not feel lonely) but companions need a couple of improvements and my adventures in EA made it even more obvious than before:

    1. They must either be made immune to certain boss mechanics and AOEs or they must be taught how to avoid them - otherwise they die every time any AOE or mechanic happens which forces the player to waste time and risk reviving the, which means it is easier to just play solo than with a companion… which really doesn’t make sense
    2. They must learn how to revive players and other companions
    3. They must learn how to interrupt (esp. when there is only one player and no one else can interrupt). Example: go alone into the Dread Cellar and start fighting the first boss, Scorion Broodlord (the spider) - from time to time, the boss pulls in a random player and feeds on them. This should be interrupted or the player dies. The companion should interrupt the boss and free the player but instead it just stands there, looks at the spider slowly consuming the player (I.e. their friend), and does nothing to help. It just looks ridiculous and completely breaks immersion. There are other places in the game where companions should interrupt so the easiest fix is to just let them interrupt any attacks. Please ZOS, fix this!

If all the above points are addressed and companions are improved, they will still be MUCH weaker than players and the game will not become unbalanced by these changes. Players will enjoy adventuring with companions much more though which will make ESO better. It’s an easy fix and a win-win.

Yet another suggestion (see earlier posts if curious) on how to improve Endless Archive before it hits live:

Saving progress ( on the PTS we already have reports of top leaderboard runs that take as long as 20 hours!)

Save the highest completed arc and visions.
Allow the player to restart from that saved checkpoint (arc/visions).
The position on the leaderboard is determined by the highest completed rank.
Reset the leaderboard and the saved checkpoint after each update (e.g. U40 to U41).
