Just started getting lag that makes the game completely unplayable for me now. Wasn't having this problem until a few hours ago. Started getting the lag randomly after going into a public dungeon. Already contacted my ISP about this, and my connection is perfectly fine. This is a problem with the game itself.

Sadly, despite the proof that the problem lies on their server, Zos is too prideful to admit it is their mistake. So dont expect any solutions from them. Their official statement is that we should contact our isp for the packet sending gets dced midway. But I asked my ISP and they told me that zos server was the one rejecting them.

yup... was going great from the start...then today about 3:00 EST we started getting unplayable lag... so checking on it in the last 6 hrs no change.... and the infamous "unknown error" so i'm another confirmation... maybe time for a server reboot... or whatever.

This is ridiculous. How can this company just come out and say "It's not our problem" ?

ya... maybe it is just that simple, i don't follow the business perspective, very close... it is just entertainment for me... so i will find something else for awhile.

They are perfect beings incapable of making errors. So they blame it on the ISP. Less work for them, we are only a minority so we arent really a loss.

Sorry to say its kinda not something they can fix. Its affecting thier business so they cant say its not thier problem (your words not thiers) but its not something they can do about it. Go back at look at the last three traceroutes by miked, sophistry and that other person. All the packets are problems are starting at ggr3.dlstx.ip.att.net. What looks to be AT&T themselves or an afflialiate. Its not like zenimax has any say in how that router/switch is being managed.

All they can do is politely contact them and ask them to fix thier stuff.

Edit: Hopefully they DID that, also as many ISP's complaining as possible will help, and people really need to run that report tool that the ESO rep said to run on page 6-7 so they can determine if this the same problem that everyone is experiencing (doubtful) so some of you are having other issues like software, firewall, av, etc.

This same problem is occurring on many different ISPs worldwide. I am in Panama with the ISP cable onda and I am having this problem. It is not firewall or other software. I spoke with customer support during the beta and since then they were saying this.

It is not possible that more than 5 different ISPs are having the same issue and it being their fault. ESO is the only software in our computers that is suffering this problems. It means that it is your job to find a way to fix this.

Another easy way to fix this is that zenimax shouldnt be greedy and just give the people who wants refunds their money back.

Auric, I did run the report tool and when I tried to post it, a message popped up on the bottom left on my screen that said the reports were already submitted and I was not allowed to post another.

reading a bit more into the trace route. It seems that the problem occurs when it hops over to the att.net addresses. Hence lines 9 through 13 where the packets just disappear.

Prior to today I have had no disconnect issues. This includes playing in four betas. Today I have been disconnected 5 times. I do not lose any progress but I am teleported a good 5 minutes horse ride away from the location I was at prior to the disconnect.

Considering they asked for it, guess I shouldn't be complaining if I haven't even given what they asked for. WTB fix by tomorrow please.

I finally got the command window to run it instead of the router. much neater to look at. But it can be seen where the problem lies.

Alright well, I have found three IP's for Zenimax, and I cannot ping, or get any viable tracert's from any of these

    198.20.200.180
    198.20.200.30

The game consultant pings and tracert's the akami servers not the ESO ones it seems. It looks like their own program gives them false information.

Im sorry to say this but zenimax is NOT going to deal with this problem because for them, this is not their problem at all. It is not their problem that their game server is rejecting your isp. So yeah, bad news bro! They wont ever find a solution for this. They are too proud to admit their fault

maybe if I had paid more money I would have get better support, hummmm, I'm wondering... /sarcastic

After a 1 hour conversation with my ISP, they have identified packet loss to the Zenimax servers. My packet loss is across the board thought, so it might not necessarily be the best example. However, After setting up a DMZ, and some other things I am stlll experiencing a problem. I am out of options to provide useful info thouggh as it won't be until the 8th before my isp can come out and check my local hardware and cable lines.

It's more than politely when a major customer (by $) complains to their ISP, and that same ISP talks to it's peering points (who they pay). It's very much provide the service that's being paid for or be replaced.

Which is why I'm looking for more than "hey, check your ISP" as an official response.

Not really, regardless of how much you pay as long as it is already on their hands, they dont give a damn about you anymore. Like whats happening to me. I pre purchased ce and now wanted a refund before my physical items get shipped. Havent got a single response from them
