Hey all, just confirming that the number of seals of endeavor you can earn will vary depending on the day and activity. We have more details in our preview article from a few months back:
In addition to other more common items, Endeavors reward a brand-new currency called Seals of Endeavor, with the amounts varying based on the day and challenge level of the Endeavors themselves.
    Hope this clears things up!

It says in the article that the seal rewards will vary based on the difficulty of the task. Is it possible that there is a bug in what tasks get assigned to a particular day, then? I would think that completing a quest, or especially completing a dungeon, would be in a category that is significantly more difficult than some from yesterday, such as "defeating 10 humanoid enemies" or "Craft 4 Items with the Blacksmithing skill".

Today, to complete a quest, I went to the quest target and turned it in. I frequently have some random quest from a delve that I need to turn in. The Blackwood prologue quest is a breeding ground for orphan delve quests because I sneak out through a portal, not back through the entrance where the quest turn in happens.

Yep, the value has been cut by 25% on the very first day. (Wa wa waaa sound effect)

Why does anyone want things like this?

A few reasons I can think of quickly: to show off (their money, their luck, their skillzzzzz), for RP reasons, because they like them, because they have been around a while and have a lot of gems to spend, because they want to treat themselves to something shiny and new, because they have an addiction (gambling, hoarding, etc.), because they are suffering from FOMO, because they are compensating for small... bits, because our brains are wired that way.

As with anything "prestigious", the reasons are many. And others don't give a thought to these purely cosmetic things that cost exorbitant amounts. Different strokes for different folks.

The point is ZOS wanted to be able to sell ESO in countries where loot box gambling is illegal so they made endeavors as a loophole to be able to legally sell ESO in those countries at all.

True, but it's just a smoke screen since the argument against loot boxes is the psychological impact and exploitation of people who suffer with addictions. Adding a system that will provide you with a nice reward in about a year does not change that at all.
Hopefully this will get picked up in the EU after covid.

Well some things, but no all. I had a look at it. It's kind of like Apex Legends now. You can do daily 'missions' to get in game credits for cosmetics. I prefer this system, but still work to do to make ESO more attractive and in line with it's performance.

Logged in, done daily writs, picked up a few nodes while waiting in the daily dungeon queue as usual. 45 easy seals.

Now do that every day for about 1 year and you will have enough to buy one of the top mounts :)

I've done most of those things for the past 7 years and will continue to do them, just now I receive a bonus for doing so.
They are simple tasks - I've completed both days within a few mins of normal gameplay.

    *Tip*
Don't have 15 items on hand to sell? Buy back 15 items and resell them. Task completed

Noob question : Why do people want radiant apex mounts, anyway?

Because some of Radiant Apex mounts look absolutely beautiful and have no alternative. They just happened to be Radiant Apex mounts, and I would want them anyway.
And other Radiant Apex mounts simply have really good and unique effects - also no alternative :) Listening to cool Dark Anchor sounds without actually being at Dark Anchor, for example, feels great:

    https://youtu.be/fKusyGqL62Q

This senche even has permanent ambient sound of active Dark Anchor - sadly, it's rather low volume, hard to hear in cities and other crowded areas... but this detail really surprised me! <3
Now I seriously think of buying Planemeld Courser when it returns (it drops Daedric meteors), and assigning it as mount for my companion (someday). That way, when we both mount up, there will be full Dark Anchor immersion. My home city is located in Coldharbour, which should explain my taste :D

I do hope very seriously that as an answer to all those complaining, they will put something on the lines

    - Complete a trial
    - Complete a hard mode trial
    - Complete 5 veterans hard mode
    - Complete 30 different world boss on DLC area

..... but i guess that even there they will complain that suddenly its way too hard, or they dont have time for that, or the intensive loot is not good enough .... etc etc etc

I was providing an additional reason that motivates some players in game. I was not saying that everyone who wants a radiant apex is doing so in order to display their time or money investment, but it’s impossible to deny that some people do, whether subconsciously or not.

Conspicuous consumption is not per se negative or positive. It is an idea that innately appeals to human nature and has been around in one form or another for thousands of years.

Sure, but you had to actually do the work at some point in order to be able to complete that quest. Obviously not all quests are the same, but they're still generally harder than "craft 4 anything at a blacksmithing station". After all, even writs will have you craft some specific set of things, whereas with this you could do 4 level 1 iron daggers. My point still stands, even if someone could hypothetically amortize the work required for any given endeavor over the normal course of play.

After reinstalling the ps4 version of the game from the ps 5 version of the game (oh i got some nice things to report on that one) I'll keep on topic for now though -

Endeavors while a great idea, and most aren't difficult, the fact that they have low amounts is rather ridiculous. 15-20 is too low to accumulate within a day. With the current 15, it would literally take you atleast FIVE to SIX months to get anything like a mount, and that is if it does not go even lower than 15 per endeavor per day. Anything lower is an insult. I can understand you want to follow the microsoft policy and you may have to tweak it more, but a player will spend more money enjoying the game as opposed to making it a second job.

Honestly at the most one of those apex mounts should take is no less than a three month struggle, I bring up the fact of the indriks that we grinded for relentlessly in my case to get all 8 variations and the nascent on my account on every event practically from 2019- 2020 respectively to achieve that. The events were fun and not punishing to an extent when you learned how to do them and enjoy doing them because you got to do more than the ordinary plus also play content that you normally wouldn't have and see just how vast ESO really is and has come along these past few years.

Now endeavors can fit the same mold, but the fact of the matter is you should probably throw in milestone rewards based on how many endeavors your account or character does like the leveling ones. This will in some ways make it a lot easier for players to do them and again have more fun with them. Maybe even throw in a crown crate in there when you hit like 100,200 or so on of them that a player does. Like how microsoft loves achievements, you could do this by adding an endeavor achievement bar that unlocks special dyes, titles, etc along with milestone rewards. That part is solely left up to you in what you can do with this and how to possibly reward the player for their efforts. Maybe some players might not ever reach an apex mount, but then they get a shot at something for doing so much grinding and in their own way stand out with special pets, dyes, titles, mounts and even special crown crates as rewards that make them feel the journey there is still a good experience.

All I'm asking is try to make it fun for players so the grind isn't felt like a slap in the face, make players want to do it not just to get those crown items, but actually enjoy all aspects of the game like you do for events.

This really shows me two things
    1. People dont read, if you actually read the news you would have known for months that the endeavor amounts you get change.
    2. People are really mad that they were given a free way to get things you could only previously pay for because heaven forbid it actually takes time to get things that would normally take several hundred dollars to get.

I completed all the seals so far just doing stuff I would normally. If that means in several months I will be able to get an APEX mount that normally I would not be able to get then I'm good with that. Seems like a pretty decent reward for just playing the game.
