ZoS: okay those 5 things you got to chose any 3 things from that could appeal to anyone of any playstyle, yeah all those are gone..

    Are you joking?
Do 1 quest, seell 15 items, harves 8 nodes, ....
Are you saying this are difficult/grindy things?

You missed the point entirely. Yes, I got it done easily and quickly just like yesterday, not that I even care about the endeavors. I was referring to the other players who were told 1 thing by ZoS and were (either happily or begrudgingly) on board with that, then the next day delivered something not just different, but coming close to in conflict with their stated goal, plus nerfed.

Longtimer since beta, the usual. 26 CP toons. ~1700cp on main account, 1000cp on 2nd account. Endgame-ish lol. Most Vets / some HM's cleared.

It's a freebie and you could do the daily tasks without trying just by doing what you do each day anyhoo and day one I had completed 2 of the tasks before I realised Endeavours had started. It's going to be a slow ride to get to the prizes I might want but I'm in no hurry and will just carry on and after a few weeks or months I may have what I need to get something out of it.

It's a gift system and they are giving me a chance to get something without having to pay out in crowns, so I'll thank ZOS for doing this and just carry on collecting them till the day I spend them.

It's Free It's not a grind to complete so I'm not complaining.

Not including the weeklies, it would have taken 267 days to get a radiant apex mount. If you can only get 45 per day, that clocks out to over a year (356 days) for a Radiant Mount. Xp is nothing can be gained infintely. If ZOS thinks that ANY amount of XP would be worth even 1 seal of Endeavor, they are delusional.

Initially I thought that the Endeavours system was a great idea and would encourage a more active player base, but if this is the kind of malarkey the ESO player base deserves, ZOS clearly has ZERO respect for us players.

Then let's hope that it doesn't go down to 1-2 seals per day (as you can see on Twitter)... I wish a lot of patience for the mount that costs 16,000 seals, which you might get for free after 2-3 years.

To players who feel like they have to grind these (because they are dailies and have check marks and there's nice rewards to be had): it might be be faster and less like a source of stress/discontent to just save gold and get the crates gifted. The seal system seems very passive to me, and regular players won't even actively deal with it, but still there is micromanagement involved so I think if people don't want to deal with it, then saving gold for crown gifting might be the best alternative to get items in crates. Then again the very best way would be a flat price for everything in the store but it's sadly not the case.

The problem is, they gave us something, then the next day they take a quarter of it away. It's like someone giving you 2 bottles of whisky. The first one is full as you unwrap it. You unwrap the second, and it's already been uncorked and has a quarter missing.
"Yeah we don't want it to get too crazy"

I wouldn't have been mad if we had gotten 15 seals yesterday and then 15 today too. That would've just been what they've given us. all the time Now they've introduced this super cool way of getting some items for free, even if it is a grind, and for LITERALLY NO REASON, they made it more difficult on the second day. This sort of treatment is not acceptable, and I will cancel my ESO+ over this.

No, it's an Xbox guideline that lock box items in all Xbox games have to be available through gameplay as well. This is 100% due to the recent acquisition by Microsoft.

    https://www.xbox.com/en-US/community/for-everyone/responsible-gaming/loot-boxes

Items in loot boxes can always be earned through play. All items available through paid loot boxes in our games will also be available through unpaid opportunity by gameplay (i.e. grinding).

I am skeptical about them being earned through game play. Since our loot boxes have a rotation, the item you want may never come back. Also from the same page:

Content probability disclosure. Where loot box items are offered for purchase within our games, players will be told the probability of obtaining each category of possible items (e.g. 80% for a “common” item, 15% for a “rare” item, and 5% for an “epic” item).

Just asking here.. have anyone actually seen ZOS say that it will be lowered.? For all we know, it could be a system that rewards tokens based on the difficulty of the task

ZOS hasn't said anything to my knowledge. It will likely be a daily thing, where some days it will be 15 seals + 5000g or 5000xp, some days they will be a full 20 seals, and so on. I dont believe that this is a permenant nerf, but it stings that they think that an exclusive currency can be substituted for 5000 xp.

I don't think that can be the reason because they never stopped selling the game in Belgium when they made loot boxes illegal, they just blocked Belgian players from buying crown crates and left them with no alternative to get those items.

I really don't think it's a coincidence they developed this system just after Microsoft's purchase of Zenimax Media went through. It just about puts them in line with Microsoft's policy on loot boxes (except the part about disclosing the odds, as someone else said) so it looks like an effort to stop Microsoft requiring further changes to the crown crate system.

I imagine what will happen with it in future will depend on how closely Microsoft look at ESO (bearing in mind they bought all of Zenimax Media, that's a lot of games and a lot of studios to manage), how the people doing that feel about the loot box system and upcoming changes to legislation in various countries.

It might be that Microsoft decides the current system which allows players to get a few of the items from each crate, or one item from every few crate sets (if you want the more expensive ones) meets their requirements, or it might be that they really do mean everything in the crates should be obtainable by 1 player - meaning someone who reached the cap on endeavours every day and week should be able to buy all 3 radiant apex mounts, all 7 apex rewards, all 18 legendary rewards and so on, which would require a massive increase in the number of seals available, or a decrease in prices. I genuinely don't know how Microsoft intend their policy to be interpreted (I don't think I play any MS games with loot boxes...except this one I suppose) or how closely they'll be looking at individual games but it will be interesting to see what happens with this system in future.

I thought they would at least be character specific but completion seems to be account wide... is it even possible to grind out one of the items before the season changes? Jeez. I'd hoped it would be an incentive to spend some more time on my alts, but I guess not.

One item? Sure. If you mean the cheaper items. It should be possible to get about 4000-5000 seals in 3 months (I think crates are once a quarter), so you can get 1 legendary item, 2 epic items or 4 superior items.

If you mean apex and radiant apex items or the gem exclusives then no. You're looking at 1 of those every 2-3 crate seasons if you buy absolutely nothing else with seals.

It is still better than not having them at all. But honestly I am fine with the amount we get, also the cost for radiant Apex is fine, the only thing I feel like is overprized way to much is the basic stuff like Potions or riding lessons. They should be lowered to maybe 100 or something, because 5 Tristatpotions for example for 360 Endeavors is a bit heavy.

Endeavors are tracked across the account, so they only count once no matter what character you do them on.

So you can sell 10 things on one character and 5 on another to complete that particular endeavour. But you can sell 15 things on each character to get credit multiple times.

I'm going to treat endeavor seals exactly the same way I treat Cryodiil AP. I'll play normally and every 6 months or so I'll check to see how many seals I have and if there's anything I want to buy. Beyond that, I'm not going to worry about it.

I prefer Secret World Legends way of doing it.
Completing daily challenges grants marks of favour which can be used to buy stuff, but can also be traded through an auction system. Players use it as currency in player auction trades. It gave the currency way more value as a result because those that want it bad enough were willing to give players who don't care about it stuff those players did want. The community gave it value.
Man that game is old, but I keep thinking about it. Weird.

I still play SWL. it's fun to wander around exploring once in a while.

It is indeed the fact that people are impatient and want shiny pixels immediately - an illusion of "sure we comply, you can get it for free" but "didn't manage to get seals on time? No issue, give us money instead!" It's a business not charity, what did people expect.
On the other hand I find it amusing that people rage over pixels. PIXELS. That will be taken away from us with no refund when ZOS decides to close servers. We don't even own those pixels, we rent them for use. They don't exist unless you log in to game.
Still, grind is real, prices too high, [snip] and so my respect towards ZOS as a studio is close to zero [snip].

Agreed, this lowering of the number seems uncalled for - even if it's planned in terms of some days will give 20, some 15, etc.

I never expected to get a bunch of seals quickly, but for goodness' sake, it shouldn't have been that hard to decide on a single set amount and stick with it (not to mention much simpler overall).
