Meh on the Gladiator costume - I was hoping for some shirtless barbarian thing since we didn't get one with the Reach and we still don't have a good way to show off our tattoos.

But those weapon emotes look great, especially the staff one. May have preferred the SnB one to have kept the shield on their back and planted the sword in the ground in front of them, since right now it looks too similar to the dagger one. I wonder what the bow/2H will look like.

I hope Naryu is in this, not inconceivable that she would be around the part of Cyrodiil that borders Black Marsh. She would be an awesome companion if not now in the future.

It's almost like different people want different things from the game.

I mean, I'm not really excited about the idea. Maybe if we could have a total of 2 or 3 combat companions, and we could get a real party feel, but I need to know more before I commit. (And, that could be the point, this could be the, "here's three NPCs who will run dungeons with you,") in which case, cool for someone, I guess.

It would be great to make our own companion (with normal character generator used for player charactres) with possibility of gear managment for him. If there will be possibility to make a original companions with same outfit possibilites like for player - than it will interesting. If we will get only crown store characters, they will be boring like house guests. Also I can imagine hundreds of players running with the same, free companion - it will be even worse than sorc pets and warden bear :D

People complain new classes and skills are broken or OP then complain when we don’t get them. People complain skill lines are grindy then complain when we don’t get them.

I love this community, but damn! Some people will just *** about anything and everything!

Barely anyone complained about the things in the other expansions being added in general though.
People just complained that they were implemented pretty badly, thats an entirely different thing.

It just isnt nice if a new class outperforms all the other classes just because it is a new class and needs some incentive for people to buy it, they could just have tried to get a proper balancing between classes in general.

Also they could have implemented Psijic Order and Antiquities in a way that would not just make them a pure grind that is definitely going to be boring the second time you do it, if its not even boring the first time already.

And if those companions are the only thing coming with the next one then yea im going to be quite dissapointed, because they will add literally nothing to my gameplay, so i can definitely see why people dont like it.

Well first things first, we can’t be too disappointed about anything unless you’re a Skingrad person disappointed it’s Leyawiin.

We know *nothing* about this chapter or year yet so let’s all just relax and get through our crappy workdays and see what comes out this evening.

I really hope that these companions are fully fleshed out. Like, giving them their own skill lines they can use, customizing their outfits, and even let them ride their own mounts (I think that one would be really cool). I don't want them to be like the temporary companions we get who can barely damage enemies and be completely useless. I'm really hoping we get more options for companions too, would be nice to have familiar faces like Lyranth as one, for example.

Originally I did not like the idea of it taking place in Blackwood/Leyawiin, but I have accepted it out of my love for Daedra and Imperials regardless. Argonians? Well, I think it's interesting. Lore wise, at least we now know why the Argonians were fighting back harder during the Oblivion Crisis; the events of Blackwood are their first time getting destroyed by Dagon's forces. They were not willing to suffer that loss again in Oblivion.

I do not understand. Welva is a mammal, how can it be a lizard?

Lizard-Steeds are useful lizards shaped by the Hist to look like large animals commonly used as mounts by the people of Tamriel. The Hist shaped them as such to allow the Argonian people to travel long distances in the swamps.

Horses, wolves and the like are not suited for long travel through the deep swamp, but lizard steeds are. Furry mounts can get stuck in the mud, catch sloughskin from fleshflies or eat poisonous flora and die. Lizard steeds do not.

The origin of the Lizard-Steeds is similar to the Argonian's origin. The Argonian Parable of Becoming states that the Hist found the humanoid forms of Men and Mer useful, molding the form of the swamp’s lizards after them to create Argonians.

Ugh, just why? It's an MMO game, get people to team up. Not to mention that overland content is already extremely easy, so why would anyone need help from an NPC is beyond me.

Thus would be the most useless thing ever. Outdoor content in ESO is already so incredibly easy that you can basically solo everything. Why would you ever need a companion?

    World bosses. Dragons. Harrowstorms.

Never mind the fact that "you" applies to you, personally - not everyone can "basically solo everything."

Dont tell me there are ppl that play this game more then 4h and have problem with overland mobs, most overland is brain dead easy even for super casuals.

I helped a guild mate whit basic needed for a rotation
I made her do a dummy test to see where she was before
    3million in 15 minute 3kdps
She didnt use light attack, food or potion
    Was slowly inputing her skill
Iafter about 15 minutes explaination and training she was up to 20k dps

She was playing sice console release

So yes there is people that do have problem even with overland content

Sorry, but I have to laugh about this.

A companion to... talk with? In an MMORPG? Why would I ever want to hear and read the same dozen of lines it has to offer? What do you expect your companion to do or say? Maybe it’ll greet you every time you login, that’s about everything it can do. Besides that, if it will be a combat pet, it will have no AI. It will attack what you attack and that’s about it. ESO doesn’t have a pet AI. The thing we don’t need is more useless models clustered in cities and the world. Not enough that there are dozens of bankers and traders running around next to the horde of Sorcerer pets and bears, now everyone gets one of two (ONE of TWO) versions of a companion - I’m sure it will be fun when the cities are filled with these useless NPCs that all look alike.

People are satisfied with stuff that is

    a) well done
    b) thought out
    c) makes sense as addition to the game
    d) doesn’t reek of monetization efforts.

Unfortunately, companions don’t fulfill any of the points above. How can I say that before they’ve been officially announced you might ask - by just thinking about the possibilities in this game when it comes to pets, AI of NPCs and the difficulty level of the questing / overland content we can use these companions in. They make sense in offline RPGs, heck they even made sense in SWTOR, where every class had specific companions with very specific storylines and skills (there were 32 different companions at the launch of SWTOR back in 2011). And now we get two companions for every player? In a game that was never meant to have companions? Ok.

If we could have designed our own companions, like we did characters, that would have been a plus. But, if its only 2 companions - already per-designed - then its going to be the banker and merchant all over again. No variety.

And it also depends on who or what they are. I couldn't see my Redguard main, running around with an Argonian or a vampire.
