so we getting companions like swtor? they gonna get in the way of bankers too like sorc pets?
i wonder if we gonna be able to put them in homes and if so do they take up a slot cause rite now only 10 slots on 700 slot homes. i wonder if they get their own mounts or just run fast behind us. so unfair.

This looks interesting. I've been thinking a reptilian mount would be a nice addition, and the nearest we've had so far is crown crate exclusive re-skins of the existing mounts.

😂 bet ZOS hates you stealing their thunder early.

Thanks for posting since I can't watch the reveal due to irl issues.

Stay safe and have fun 😊

Only two new characters are these companions? And then all the people run around with the same two? That sounds even worse than seeing the same merchants double and triple all the time.

Ok, I dont mind companions system.
Just wish that is not the only thing.
I mean, its nice for a DLC feature, but it hardly adds enough flavor to entire chapter.

Guess it's has to do with the less systems thing due to covid-19 and working from home reason.

Read what the description says: "characters designed specifically to aid you in your quests". Does that sound like they would be allowed in PvP, trials and dungeons? Relax. Please.

They may add more later, as with the houseguests

Well, and why would I need them in a quest?- it is not as if those would be overly difficult.

    No
Edit: overhauls and updates won't sell, unlike new stuff

Going to be stupid and preorder collector's edition, I guess, if shinies are as juicy as I think

I once said this in a "we need a new class thread". Immediately got responses like "this is a MMO it MUST evolve".

I guess a lot of people rather forget that adding more to a complete system definitely not makes it better and it doesn't fix broken things either.

It would be good if you can use them for both, I mean, as houseguest or companion (if you really need a help during normal quests).

I view survey collection and treasure map finding as "quests." Would be great if I could send them out to do this for me!

It sounds like the NPCs will only be with you in overland content, not dungeons or trials.
Way too early to make any guesses until they talk about it in the stream today, though I am saddened since my character has done all quests in all zones and I would not have the chance to experience them with the companions.

Would be so nice if it came along a hardmode switch for Overland that maybe even resets everything. I did the base game 8 years ago. I can not remember any of the quests.

It depends on how deep the new feature is.

Having NPCs that accompany the PC is an RPG mainstay in RPGs and certainly has a precedent in the Elder Scrolls IP. A significant number of players will no doubt enjoy the addition of companions given its previous prevalence. One of the very few things that impressed me when I briefly played another MMO was its companion mechanic. That's something I felt ESO could benefit from, if it was implemented well. In this RPG, the NPCs had different roles that complemented the role of the PC. For example, if your character mostly attacked at range, you could pick a tank NPC that would reliably hold aggro for you.

Well, the least interesting/beautiful part of Oblivion map, another rp system instead of an actual improvements to the game... Did I forgot something already? Probably, as I thought greymoor was a downhill, man I was wrong and that's not even funny this time. They can't even properly monetize my love for Oblivion, like, how that even possible lmao

Ugh, just why? It's an MMO game, get people to team up. Not to mention that overland content is already extremely easy, so why would anyone need help from an NPC is beyond me.

This would be the most useless thing ever. Outdoor content in ESO is already so incredibly easy that you can basically solo everything. Why would you ever need a companion?

Those things are not meant to be soloed and a companion won’t help you with that anyway.

Lots of world bosses can be soloed though.

And the companion seems to aid you during quests - this game has zero difficult or challenging quests. As I said, with ESOs difficulty it’s completely useless.
