People were posting that they'd rather pay for a dlc that fixes the broken things than another dlc that overtaxes the system so let them do their work without being a creep to them about it.
Good. The servers wouldn’t be able to handle the event with the current performance issues anyway. Not to mention the fact that the main campaign always fills up with PVEers and people who actually want to play the PvP have to wait for hours in queues.
I'd put money on them fixing absolutely nothing and just cancelling the event so they don't have to get flamed on the forums while it's running.

This is not 'good'. Good would be fixing this issue ages ago.

This was preventable, if ZOS had started working on fixing the problems earlier.
This basically sums up the current situation. ZOS has been aware of these issues for a long time. They have had every opportunity to address these issues sooner, but they didn't.
I'm trying to be optimistic regarding the outcome of these fixes and improvements...but as we've seen from basically every update ZOS releases, they somehow manage to break something. So while I hope they can improve the group finder and performance in general, I'm worried about them breaking something else in the process which will then take another several months years for them to get around to fixing.

The Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood event is Tuesday, July 2, at 10:00AM EDT to Monday, July 15 at 10:00AM EDT. (https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/56503)
The Midyear Mayhem event in 2018 was Thursday, July 26 at 10:00AM EDT to Monday, August 6 at 10:00AM EDT. (https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/26449)
The events do not overlap. We can have both, just like the April Fool's / Jester Festival in early April and the ZOS / ESO anniversary in early April. They are very close together, if not back-to-back.
@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom @ZOS_SarahHecker @ZOS_BrianWheeler care to communicate and confirm that the Midyear Mayhem event will return in late July / early-mid August, like previous years?

Will zos expedite performance fixes if pvp guilds start spamming their aoes in zones other than cyrodiil? Find out next week!
Honestly? It's fine. I'll take a cancelled event if it means they're going to genuinely work on fixing the game. I'm definitely a bit disappointed, but I'd personally prioritize a working game over some extra AP that I really don't need to add to my toppling stack.
