So this can only be good news? Like....they’re saying it’s because they are focusing on improving stuff... right guys?

    /ducks

    LOL. No.

It was because BGs are part of midyear mayhem and the GF is not fixed. I guess they did not want to decouple BGs because of all the heat they would take over that so they just canceled it all. LOL. Zos logic.

I can understand their reasoning. If PvP lag is the worst in the game, do they really want to run an event that increases the number of people in PvP?

If all of this leads to these big problems really being fixed, thats great. I just am not going to hold my breath on that. I am more than willing to be proved wrong though.

Part of my frustration is that they replaced it with literally my least favorite content in the game, which I know doesn't apply to everyone, I know lots of people are happy with the replacement event too. But you could have stabbed me in the eye and that would have been more fun than me even thinking about having to do a heist or a sacrament.

    Ser Brienne of Tarth. BOOM.

On topic: while I’m super annoyed that the ONE event we get is cancelled... I’m also glad I won’t have to compete for spots in the queue with whiny PVEers who don’t want to die in a PVP zone just because they’re there for their precious ~*feathers*~ or Caltrops.

ZOS has known about the Groupfinder problems for 2 years now. They've known the BG queue problem has been getting worse for more than 6 months.

This was preventable, if ZOS had started working on fixing the problems earlier.

This basically sums up the current situation. ZOS has been aware of these issues for a long time. They have had every opportunity to address these issues sooner, but they didn't.

I'm trying to be optimistic regarding the outcome of these fixes and improvements...but as we've seen from basically every update ZOS releases, they somehow manage to break something. So while I hope they can improve the group finder and performance in general, I'm worried about them breaking something else in the process which will then take another several months for them to get around to fixing.

We just had an intro of a new leader taking the reigns at the top of the forum. Let them do their job and let's see if they can make some repair to this system.

Quick fyi for you @ryzen_gamer_gal , the intro post you are likely refering to was from 2018 and has been necroed before getting closed, the "new" guy is already working at zos for a year.

Good let them fix the game. Stop complaining about them trying to make things right. If they launch the vent and it doesnt work, how much more annoyed will you be. People were posting that they'd rather pay for a dlc that fixes the broken things than another dlc that overtaxes the system so let them do their work without being a creep to them about it.

You think the complaints aren't warranted? PvP has been running like trash for years. PvPers have every right to complain. The grotesque lag has spread to every facet of the game. DF has been trash for years too. People have valid complaints, and they're met with "don't complain" or "don't be a creep". What a joke.

How pathetic is it that people would directly pay for the maintenance/performance of the game. You say that like it is a good thing, all it shows is the game is running so terribly people would rather throw money at it to make it go away. That's shameful.

They cancelled this 6 days before it set to launch. Some were looking forward to it. Brushing off their complaints as "they're gonna fix things" is nonsense as they've had years to do so in Cyrodiil.

Bottom line is yes, it would appear they may have released a Group Finder/Activity Finder bug along with the last update, and instead of rolling those "improvements" back and get them working correctly before re-releasing them, they simply killed a PvP event that relies in part on those things being functional.

We can all second-guess why, but at the end of the day, it just looks like the annual (and only) big PvP event has been canceled this year because they released bad code.

I get not adding in the achievements since players would have trouble getting into BG queue. However, I don't see why they can't do double AP for two weeks. Would double AP actually increase the population in Cyrodiil enough to exacerbate the performance issues?

Feel free to disagree or attack me, but I can understand the reasoning. I can certainly acknowledge the decision is rather unfair to the PvP only players, but I don't think it's ZOS not caring about them. I mean, I'd venture to throw out the opinion that the majority of the combat changes made over the last year have been because of PvP.

That being said - I really needed to buy some *** from the Golden during Mayhem, so I HAVE MY PITCHFORK AT THE READY.

Correction: they didnt release a GF bug this update.

Groupfinder has been breaking under high demand for 2 years. They've known about this since the first Undaunted event, claimed they fixed it (spoiler: NOPE!) And its been broke ever since.

BG queues has been breaking for over 6 months.

The only thing that changed is that ZOS finally admitted that Activity Finder is breaking constantly because of high demand. They implemented a throttle on the queue to try to alleviate that (reduce demand) and are trying revamp Acitivity Finder completely...by Q4 and early next year.

This is not a recent problem.
Its gotten worse to the point of unplayability due to an influx of players.
But the problem is NOT new.
ZOS has known about Activity Finder problems for years.

What does it mean that I need “professional help”, anger management classes and a new religion because a game I literally have invested 1000’s of dollars in trigged me? People like you really need to [snip]

    [edited for circumventing profanity filter]

It means you're reaction to disappointment is over the top and beyond what is healthy for anyone.

Additionally, it seems obvious to me that you don't know what triggered means. A trigger is truly a term that belongs to sufferers of ptsd not to people who flame out over disappointment.

Well, most wise from ZOS would be probably to run all events in parallel (WB, crafting, mayhem, thieving) with limit in 2 tickets per day, that will keep Cyro from collapsing and PVP-ers still can enjoy double AP. But they selected probably worst variant possible. After doing those sacraments/heists in february I simply don't want to touch them at all, and any thought of starting doing them again just causes mental burf.

Yeah no. I'm all for fixes but I'm going to call a spade a spade. This isn't something new. Performance issues in Cyrodiil, and DF issues has been around for years. They've had time to address it.

They haven't been fixed then, and although I'd love for it to be fixed now I seriously doubt it. It seems more like a precaution so things don't get worse if anything.

No insults just wavering patience over these issues on my part.
