I don't know about being paid part but the cheering was indeed weird, especially for Blades and F76 where we were lied to so many times. And I mean really, people cheered for basic things, like NPCs, being added to F76? People will cheer for anything these days.

Not everything is a dang conspiracy!

Im not sure they where paid, but you could see in the stream that some people where not even smiling when they annouced stuff.
I'm not criticizing the Bethesda event until I've received my leopard mount. But the audience was really excited...

Getting human NPCs in this game is a huge thing and was one of the biggest complaints since launch. That should get some applause, but I agree it shouldn't get such a level of ecstatic reception.
Blades and that new mobile game; I'm worried if the level of cheering is a sign of what games receive the most attention from studios in the future.
I saw Gina Bruno in the first line cheering on the presentations. I guess Bethesda is trying to cover up for the mess they did with Fallout 76 making a loud cheering like nothing happened.
To be fair, Fallout 76 is now a much better game then at release, and is currently performing much better and appears more bug free than ESO.
Speaking from experience and being completely objective.

Well, I personally play FO76 and although it needs more content, it is an objective fact that it now has a lot more content with more on the horizon and is no longer “full of bugs”.
It is also completely fair to say that currently the FO76 servers are performing better and more reliably than ESO’s.
Not really anything to argue about, unless you want to argue that you dislike the game, which is a completely subjective view and therefore a moot point not worth arguing about.
And yes, I completely agree that it was released much too early. It should have been released in the condition that it is in now.

Nah, I just argued that making the game functional a year after release isn't applause worthy. I'll probably boot it up again in the future to see what they added but we just shouldn't go along with practices like this. So in essence I said there shouldn't be any cheering at the presentation, but unfortunately there was.

Several times I noted that the same people, wearing strangely similar black tshirts and trousers, led the "spontaneous" cheers. The rictus of terror and nervous giggles of the people who were shunted out to deliver their carefully scripted "informal chat" (including the curses meant to make them look cool and edgy) made their performances cringeworthy. I felt sorry for them being made to do it. All in all it all seemed surprisingly amateur and actually said very little of note, most of it being inane chat and so-what videos.
Everything is fake now. Instead of showing any content they should have just showed spinning loot boxes and microtransaction currency on the screen because that's what people were cheering for in essence. Bethesda is a shell of it's former self IMO and it's sort of sad.
