Maintenance for the week of November 25:
• [COMPLETE] Xbox: NA and EU megaservers for maintenance – November 27, 6:00AM EST (11:00 UTC) - 9:00AM EST (14:00 UTC)
• [COMPLETE] PlayStation®: NA and EU megaservers for maintenance – November 27, 6:00AM EST (11:00 UTC) - 9:00AM EST (14:00 UTC)

You think that Bethesda paid the people in the audience to cheer?

There were only a couple devs toward the front, and there happened to be a lot of ESO fans who were genuinely excited, and nobody was paid.

Yeah, the ESO cheering was good and also real. Congrats on the successful event!

But it's still funny how the first row reacted ... to everything... come on... mobile phone games... would you play and pay yourself ? No hard feelings, it's good that TES6 is getting closer, hopefully not as a "live-service-game" and I pray that there is also more high quality content for ESO.

But let me fully disagree on the mobile cashgrab games. Would it be buy2play for xyz € on android and like a full game, then we can talk about it. Price depends on content/gametime and NO microtransactions. Would buy it, would play it, even on mobile  (that card game would be fun if it's at a reasonable price without microtransactions)

Indeed but if you paid attention to this thread and these forums in general you would come away believing there is something wrong with celebrating your industry. The constant pure negativity is becoming a very disturbing yet consistent trend in the online ecosphere.

    It's partially a cultural thing.

In Europe, it's considered somewhat crass to cheer yourself and by extension, a company you work for.

A polite clap would probably be considered more appropriate.

    Yeah, agreed with this.

Also, it's not like ESO players wouldn't like to cheer. We just aren't given much cause for celebration. Unable to log in, woohoo! Cyro lag, yaaay! So when they mention that ESO is doing super well (while we've had recurring server meltdowns) and say they increased the server capactiy to accomodate the mass of players (that the logins and group finder clearly can't deal with), the response is far from a jubilant 'yeehaw' and more like a '@&!%" finally, thank God, we've been complainging %!+'# forever!!! :expressionless:'.

Seriously!! with all the negativity around us, seeing someone, and more, an adult, beeing so enthusiastic is for me the proof that we can still be silly, funny, and love what we are doing or watching or simply living.

Please @ZOS_Finn, never ever change. And never apologize for beeing human and still having the child in you :)

Of course they did not pay anyone to cheer, that is simply silly. People love their games and people who spend their time and money to attend shows like E3 are even more enthusiastic. Having said that the camera kept panning to the front rows where you could see ESO staff jumping up and making a lot of noise constantly during the Zenimax online portion of the presentation

I think we need to remember that not everyone is alike. Some people will genuinely be excited about <insert game here> for their own reasons. Just because you don't happen to like it doesn't mean everyone shares or understands your viewpoint.

Fallout 76 received huge negative press initially but evidently enough people still liked it to keep playing and keep giving feedback and keep the faith and it's apparently better now and from the sounds of it with an amazing community.
If they can keep the community pride and keep out the toxicity that overtakes many games, it'll be phenomenal.

Also I feel it is really crass to spit at ZOS like this right on their own forum. Get your own complaint blog.

Some of you are funny. That wasn't a paid performance. ESO has a rather decent sized group of people that love the game and the community, and a few of them happened to be at the event. It was kind of expected for there to be some volume from the ESO crowd. I support the excited ESO fans and I think the people being extra crappy about it are super lame.

I know, but still i disagree, as i saw numerous VIP and companies (french, English, Italian ...) self applaud themselves. It is the human part. Never saw a child applaud himself ? So what, beeing an adult means that you have to loose the child in you ?

To applaud is something that motivates us to continue to do our best, to overcome obstacles, to adopt a positive outlook, to maintain morale. Why not applaud your company if you are proud of it, and proud of what you have done.

And to applaud is more related to squawk, absence, collective, intense, and ovation than polite.

I've seen polite applause at UN meetings, and i rather not have those.

But, nowadays the norm is to doubt and insult any good feelings. So sad.
