You think that Bethesda paid the people in the audience to cheer?

BUt no way that there are enough whales who actually took their time away from throwing money at cashgrab games with next to no content to fill that hall...

A simple "yes" would have been enough.

No, and i think asserting they need to is silly, you understand the first lower level is a mix up of developers from beth and from across the industry who all celebrate their market? I know the internet youtube generation is all about the hate rage and dramas but seriously take a step back and realize what you are saying here.Should the industry not cheer, should fans not celebrate? Should we all come together for the 'common good' and hate all mobile games universally for the memes online? I dont play mobile games i never will, but i understand why corporations make them. Since you know I like eating steak for dinner myself. As for your response to commander keen; What is wrong with Beth making a new commander keen, and considering the nature of the childrens game it is, why wouldnt they put it on the mobile market?

Nothing to celebrate when ESO is a laggy bug infested dumpster fire. Zos just ignores all the issues and acts like everything is just sunshine and rainbows

Well , compared to some other mmos ESO is rainbow and sunshine indeed. Could be worse could be better.

Maybe if all you do is quest and role play. If you go into PvP you’ll experience the trash side of eso

Indeed but if you paid attention to this thread and these forums in general you would come away believing there is something wrong with celebrating your industry. The constant pure negativity is becoming a very disturbing yet consistent trend in the online ecosphere.

Cheering and being excited is absolutely fine. What I found surprising is that at BE3 mostly individuals cheered, whereas if you watch the Microsoft show it was the whole crowd. And that excitement is more enjoyable to watch imo.

On a side note. When I started playing FO76 with a friend and we found another closed vault, I said what if they open these vaults later and add NPCs. I'm glad they are doing it now as I enjoy the game.

People went there hoping to see at least new teaser for TES6 or Starfield.

While I don’t know about Starfield, it was previously announced that there would be no ES6 news at E3. Anybody who expected an ES6 update only has themselves to blame for their disappointment.

Still, ES6 needs no promotion. People know the IP and what to expect. The same cannot be said for Starfield. Bethesda needs to be talking it up as much as they can as nobody knows anything about it. A screen shot or two. A few seconds of video. A brief discussion or explanation of the game. Basically any piece of info about the game would have been beneficial instead of the radio silence. At this point, I’d say there is an equal chance the game is never released as the chance it is released.

I'm not the type to stand up & cheer, for anything, so I'd never go to this kind of thing in the first place. But I know that some people are outgoing/loud/enthusiastic/annoying/drunk/etc, and would do that.

As for Blades - been playing it since it launched. It's fine for what it is. And I don't understand how some of the people on the ES:B forum & reddit keep ranting about it being a game for whales / a cashgrab / etc. I haven't spent a $, I've got a maxed out town, lv48 character, never hit a "paywall"... /shrug

Americans clap in cinema's, why not there as well?

    We do?

I've never clapped at a movie, or ever seen anyone ever do that.
    It would be hilarious.
Embarrassing as all get-out, but hilarious nonetheless..
    🤣

Speaking as an American, the last movie I saw where the audience actually clapped was during the last Fast and The Furious movie

For me I believe it was Avengers End Game.

Keep is mind this isn't clapping in a vacuum. There are other people around, theater staff, possibly a reviewer. Word gets around in what is called "buzz". Genuine or not, that's what the cheers at E3 are basically about as well.

All the people who cheer and clap at these industry events are company reps, enthusiast press and influencers.

Not exactly people who are there to be critical.

    EDIT:

I forgot to directly address OP.

No, they were not paid, with the exception of ZOS, BGS, id and other Zenimax employees who hopefully were compensated for attending a company event.

A lot of them seem to have been employees or relatives to be honest...and the 2 times they showed 2 females up close they looled rather bored tbh....i love(ish) bethesda but honestly...NO ONE was waiting for commander keen or another mobile game.

Bethesda seems to shift their entire company focus towards maximizing monetization regardless of reputation loss along the way....

They should take note how fast things can change - bioware went within 2 games from "greatest rpg developper" to "oh god dont give it to bioware to develop"

"Elder Scrolls 6 coming next year on Android!"

    how do you know that?

    I like Fallout 76.

The lack of npcs added to the desolate feeling for me and honestly for all the people who wish they could do the story in ESO dungeons but never get the chance to, the holotapes really allowed you to quest and explore with friends without affecting what they wanted to do. I could pick up the tapes and listen to the story as we moved along clearing a building. In eso you have to stand their while the npc talks and click through your dialog choices and you know you friend is being nice and waiting but you are making them wait. It was just nice.

Anyway them adding a new story with people coming back to the area is good.

The Japanese game looked a little interesting the rest not so much.

I think, that some of them were paid. One don't need to pay all people in the crowd, because when even not too big part of the crowd starts to cheer, others most likely will be encouraged to do so as well. It's well-know phenomena in psychology. And if the thing really works, capitalists will not hesitate to use it for their own purposes, right? Of course there could be some people, who'll cheer this piece of art without any money. I wonder if they can make up a crowd, though.
