You think that Bethesda paid the people in the audience to cheer?

I mean... seriously, I cant imagine that there are really people who still cheer for Fallout 76 or Elder Scrolls Blades...

And that new Mobile game? I honestly thought I accidently took skooma when I saw that one xD

You can see from the videos, the ones who led all the cheers were the staff in the front rows.

that uber-duper-super-hyper dude in the back that was yelling in awe every time something regarding fallout 76 was said made me think they paid some ppl...or at least they hand picked the most ultra defending super fanboiis.

No, and i think asserting they need to is silly, you understand the first lower level is a mix up of developers from beth and from across the industry who all celebrate their market? I know the internet youtube generation is all about the hate rage and dramas but seriously take a step back and realize what you are saying here.Should the industry not cheer, should fans not celebrate? Should we all come together for the 'common good' and hate all mobile games universally for the memes online? I dont play mobile games i never will, but i understand why corporations make them. Since you know I like eating steak for dinner myself. As for your response to commander keen; What is wrong with Beth making a new commander keen, and considering the nature of the childrens game it is, why wouldnt they put it on the mobile market?

I know a couple of people who think FO76 and Anthem are the best games to be released in the past few years, and fiercely defend them.

    So anything is possible.

I mean... yeah, some people like Candy crush and I am sure some people even defended the mobile Dungeon Keeper game...

I would figure if you take the time, money, and effort to get seats in a place like that, you're going to be hyped and probably having a good time that you'll cheer or encourage just about anything. Especially if it involves a game you really enjoy.

There were a few awkward pauses I noticed when something would be said and then the speaker would pause as if expecting cheering/applause, and it would come after a beat... but I feel like that's more on the speaker than the audience, expecting people to GET HYPE at nearly every-other sentence when they probably just want you to keep going.

A lot of them seem to have been employees or relatives to be honest...and the 2 times they showed 2 females up close they looled rather bored tbh....i love(ish) bethesda but honestly...NO ONE was waiting for commander keen or another mobile game.

Bethesda seems to shift their entire company focus towards maximizing monetization regardless of reputation loss along the way....

They should take note how fast things can change - bioware went within 2 games from "greatest rpg developper" to "oh god dont give it to bioware to develop"

To each their own, I guess.

When they were discussing eso and fallout76, I was screaming in the inside, because I was at work when bethlive was on.

But they didnt even say anything new about ESO, they shopwed another cinematic (which looked cool, I loved it) and then revealed the name of 2 already announced DLCs...

Thats it, we didnt even get any real information about the DLCs, other than "Yeah, come to our next con we might tell you more"

No, get serious those people wanted to be there, they were excited and unless someone dropped a stinky bomb they were going to celebrate any announcement. That is how such gatherings work.

The guys who 'yeehaw'd' in the ESO presentation made me laugh, I don't think anyone was paid, it's just ecxitement for something people love. I'd be that person probably if I attended an event like that, the whole atmospehere is celebratory :D I just finished watching it and I can't help but thinking: ESO community = best community!

You can see, that some rows are devs, or ppl somehow related to the company.

If you look at the audience as a whole, and ONLY watch ppl who do not applaud to everything, you see the real one

Several times I noted that the same people, wearing strangely similar black tshirts and trousers, led the "spontaneous" cheers. The rictus of terror and nervous giggles of the people who were shunted out to deliver their carefully scripted "informal chat" (including the curses meant to make them look cool and edgy) made their performances cringeworthy. I felt sorry for them being made to do it. All in all it all seemed surprisingly amateur and actually said very little of note, most of it being inane chat and so-what videos.

I don't think they'd need to pay anyone, except their staff of course who absolutely should be paid. If anyone thinks working a convention is time off I can only assume you've never done it. If anything it's more exhausting than normal work, especially if you have a desk job. You're just on the go all the time. Literally the moment you leave your room in the morning you're working and you're at it until you go to bed. Even if you're in the bar in the evening it's still working - making sure you're talking to the right people, saying the right things, making sure everyone's ok etc.

But for the fans I think it's safe to assume anyone who made the effort to be in the room is going to be excited about hearing the announcements no matter what they announce...unless they really mess it up. And honestly that kind of atmosphere is infectious, you get drawn in by the people around you and end up joining in with the cheering even if it's not something you think is the greatest news ever.
i love(ish) bethesda but honestly...NO ONE was waiting for commander keen or another mobile game.

Wait, what? They announced another Commander Keen game? I loved those when I was a kid and I'd definitely be up for playing a new one now. I certainly wasn't waiting for it because I didn't think anyone would bother to make another one, but I am interested.

Khajiit heard this from an elf, who heard it from an orc who overheard it in the bathroom.

A certain Mr Finn was promised he could build a totally impossible dungeon filled with hundreds of traps that no traveller could ever complete if he could yell at the stage for one whole hour.

Also unlimited popcorn for the duration of the event.

Honestly, it’s most likely that the attendees were mostly studio members, studio member friends and families etc... and people had prob had a few drinks since it was evening time.

Or maybe not, but honestly, that amount of support for fallout 76 is ludicrous, turn on that game now, tell me it’s in a good state, there have been weapon duplication glitches, people run around with every OP weapon in the game because the found dev rooms, and because they could be duplicated no-one can prove what weapons are legit or not. I mean seriously, the game is finished, it’s a meme, “it just works”!?

I just can’t fathom how someone can support the disgraceful affair that game is, so much so, I would scream shill too.
