I never get solo'd by a magplar. A sorc maybe. A NB maybe. A DK maybe. Not a magplar. We always stalemate because we can't burst each other down. As a melee Magplar, I feel like I'm in a subpar place.
As a melee magplar also, i feel like I don't have that problem with other magplars. They either die or they resto/shield ult/barrier away when they realize they won't win this particular fight. Magsorcs are the class I have the most trouble with, followed by both variants of DK, though I don't think I'd have any issue with mag DK's if I didn't have the huge weakness to fire.
Does anybody else feel like they have more trouble with classes they don't play much or have never played? Even though they are still stupidly strong now, I think i'd have a better understanding on how to fight sorcs if I played one.
Yeah , even if you know the typical rotations you can get a better feel of what to expect, when that ult is coming and when people are out of resources. Obviously sometimes it’s not going to matter because certain classes are simply better than the one you’re on. Still I think everyone should play multiple things besides their main.

I did that for the longest but mostly because I hate leveling characters. But playing magplar, stamplar, stam sorc, mag blade and both warden variations helped. Dabbled a little with stam nb, mag sorc and dk but not enough. You should at least try to play both stam and mag variations of your class , that alone will make you a better player.
And I don’t play all the time either even when I have time lol

I swap between stam/mag 'plars all the time. Hence me being imperial .
I will level up my warden, but mostly to enjoy the DC area guestlines again (that *** was fun and I forgot most of the zones). Rivenspire is legit the best zone.

Is that in BGs or in Cyro ? In BGs I'm doing a lot better on my Templar in general, because all the clunkyness and lag related *** doesn't kick in as much. EU PC Vivec though...Meh. Even ranged is a nightmare. Also the shield changes he mentioned is the buffs to radiant ward i think. Which I also can't wait to try out.
Yup. The charge ( without minimum range )/shield/pulse combo on PTS allows for the proactive approach that's been missing for so long. At least in theory. Testing PvP related stuff is difficult there and Cyro server performance and dynamics pretty much can't be properly evaluated at all.
A strong HoT to complement the combo would be nice...

Both, and imp city. Testing btb/ shackle/ bloodspawn for melee now and it's been great. Going back to skoria tonight. My stam sustain is fine without tripots (using spell power pots for sorcery and crit) i think.

BtB/Shackle/Any helm combo or set has been the best all around build for me since BtB was introduced. Especially for melee magplar( which is my preferred play-style). A suggestion, go light armor 5/1/1 and run 2 Protective and one Infused jewelry with all spell dmg enchants, rock witch mothers brew, and put tristat enchants on all or at least the 3 big pieces of armor. In BGs rock skoria, in group rock either Bal or Grothdar, and when getting zerged or solo rock Pirate skelly...

Lol thanks for the advice. My previous build packed much more of a whallop, but it was primarily ranged so a lot safer. I also disagree with your previous post nearly entirely.
1. Next patch is a big buff and opens up options for many facets of pvp gameplay
2. I have played countless different styles of magplar successfully this patch, and next has more opportunity.
3. I think most people have no idea what they are talking about when they mention identity. Especially those who think the class is weak.
4. This statement makes me think you're out of touch with how i play entirely. "Im not going to list ways to fix this class, been doing that for years now to no avail... Im just going to embrace the devs wishes by building my Magplars into potato staff wielders or Thic tailed Healbots"
I hate the word healbot.

I did the math and the new magicka set isn't much of an upgrade. Stats are a bit thicker with tri stat food but you have to make an extra effort to keep up the sustain.

Actually no, I do not follow how you play... this is my opinion on what has transpired with the class in relevance to the almost 4 years I have "mained" a magplar. And from that standpoint they are a shell of their former glory. Also, just go look at the past 10+ pages and see what the common complaints are for yourself
Lets not forget with incap becoming a death sentence to a mag character. You now only get 1 second of riot snare immunity with RAT. I was banking on that to even try any mag character, even a magblade brawler. Forget it. All my characters will be stam. Easier to switch that way anyway with them all playing similarly
Race Against Time:
This ability no longer becomes cheaper as it ranks up.
Reduced the Snare and Immobilization immunity to 1 second from 4 seconds.
The immunity’s duration now increases as the ability ranks up, up to a maximum of 2 seconds.
RIP

its 2 seconds. 1s base morph so they nerfed it by 50%.
2 seconds is better than none, though once again magplar non-vamp got ripped into lol.
new incap will be to mag toons like wings was for all ranged toons.

4. This statement makes me think you're out of touch with how i play entirely. "Im not going to list ways to fix this class, been doing that for years now to no avail... Im just going to embrace the devs wishes by building my Magplars into potato staff wielders or Thic tailed Healbots"
I hate the word healbot.
Actually no, I do not follow how you play... this is my opinion on what has transpired with the class in relevance to the almost 4 years I have "mained" a magplar. And from that standpoint they are a shell of their former glory. Also, just go look at the past 10+ pages and see what the common complaints are for yourself
Ive seen them. Im not trying to insult you, I just disagree.
Shoot, most of the people here thought the off balance change to toppling was bad.
Everything is a shell of its former glory. But it's much more balanced. For instance, many want blinding flashes back, and complained about shuffle. Literally one of the most broken skills ever created... "But identity!"DeadlyRecluse wrote: »
So.... about blinding light again....
lol someone should list the templar changes+compensations and put it next to the nightblade changes+compensations. THen post it to the forums lol.
