This exactly in the problem playing magplar or stamplar. Pretty much all is better at other classes and i mainly play them now.

Templars are due for a redesign. Some of the passives are too situational, and even some of the skills and morphs are practically useless like Explosive Charge, Unstable Core, Blazing Shield, and Restoring Aura(both morphs). Repentance became redundant the moment they gave the rune 480 stam recovery.

repentance isnt redundant. Burst sustain neither equals nor replaces sustained sustain.

Here's my personal list of morphs that are either redundant or don't function in the modern interpretation of the game (ignoring PVE centric morphs too):
    - Aurora Jav
    - blazing shield
    - solar disturbance
    - unstable core (soon to be total dark as well)
    - radiant oppression
    - breath of life (even healers hardly run it)
    - healing ritual (both morphs)
    - Radiant Aura
    - Practiced Incantation

They are either replaced by more efficient spells, have better dmg/defense/sustain options or the other morph is so perfect it makes no sense to run it.
I disagree with some of these skills being redundant/useless. Most of them have a place with a variety of builds if people would actually stop and think about their use instead of just going straight for the meta builds.

Aurora javelin=highest damage long ranged cc there is when cast from maximum distance. I've landed crits upwards of 10k on targets in cyrodil with this. Example combo: reflective/vamp bane>javelin>dark flare>beam will end most builds in cyrodil. Will be better once DK's can't reflect.

Blazing Shield=yeah this pretty much needs a redesign after what they did to it.

Solar Disturbance=could use a redesign too since the other morph is better.

Unstable Core=I always liked this morph over total dark for a few reasons, the damage it can do, pulling nightblades out of stealth since cloaking doesn't remove it, and you can still cast it on CC immune targets to setup massive burst when they don't expect it. Example combo: Unstable core, puncturing sweep once into dark flare and then crescent sweep, and all this will hit when the unstable core timer ends. resulting in damage thats generally pretty hard to recover from.

Radiant Oppression= This is the better morph imo, i tried glory for a long time, had trouble finishing people. Even after some of these good buffs, templars still need all the damage they can get.

BoL= i agree about that don't see it get used alot outside of people that heal 100% of the time.

Healing Ritual=somewhat okay? Could have better secondary effects.

Radiant Aura=I might start using this over ele drain next update because it can hit all targets at once, and nobody likes spending time casting ele drain on one target at a time. Though ele drain will still be better for duels because of the major breach.

Practiced Incantation= Yeah this skill is pretty useless outside of using it to animation cancel and get major protection from the one morph. Could use a redesign too.

For javelin, I look at it this way, if you are trying to use it as a way to find a ranged CC, it means your build is using a staff. If it's using a staff, reach is now possible and likely superior because it's cheaper and the DOT dmg offers more utility plus ignores 10% armor lol.

Unstable core is great for sure, until you fight a heavy armor evasion stamblade. I legit watched my 10k unblock/undodge tooltip turn into 1k lol. ::deslotted::

Radiant Oppression is good, and the heal is good, but I never noticed difference between the two in combat. I really only use it in BGs to execute steal.

BOL was added because some end-game healers mentioned they hardly use it. So if PVE healers dont run it, who does?!

Sure if you use a staff to begin with reach might be better. But not everybody wants to be a staffplar, some of us run melee weapons such as DW and 2h, which is where javelin can out damage reach, even with the dot on it.

And by heavy armor evasion stamblade, you mean major evasion right? Core is still gonna do damage, I've never had mine do only 1k though that seems like you were fighting an excessively tanky stamblade which most people don't do. Mine crits for over 5k on the regular.

Major Evasion is the bane of magicka templars though, I wish they would drop that down to like 15% or something. 25% is way to much imo.

If you’re not running major expedition or some equivalent on your stamplar you’re going to have a bad day. I mean unless you play in groups constantly to make up for class weaknesses. But speed really adds to how ell you survive on stamplar.

On another note , does steed cancel out vamp health debuff or come close ?

I haven’t ran a gap closer regularly in years. Last time I did was on a magblade in 2016. Most of the time I’m by myself and players come to me, even if they try to run they can’t outrun me, at least on my Stam characters.

Yeah, usually it doesn't end well if you go gap closing down a target. You spend a lot of stam and dont land a lot of damage. Patch might change that, but then you usually find that whoever you run down is heading for help

Speed is supreme for all stamina builds imo. Best form of defense is maneuvering to out play. Line of sight.

If you're going to use roll to mitigate, seriously go woodelf @Waffennacht it's so far superior for that build you're running. You could drop your swift or steed for more...anything. khajiit needs high crit to out perform woodelf imo.

I don't understand how u guys don't like playing every class, they're all fun. Especially stamblade. It's so powerful and fun in good hands.

Does anyone know if there is an add on that tells you how much damage PoTL is copying? I’d be curious to know for testing new rotations and to understand better what kind of max tooltip is necessary.

I just had an epic fight with a sorc after switching to steed and all swift, then I am running shuffle with RAT. It was really an eye opener being able to move. The sorc fight must have lasted a good 10 minutes all over Ales mine as I walked up just as he was about to flip. Early on, it was a lot of futility and repositioning and LOLing at him as I LOS to get back up with him then trying to push the flag. I kept taking runs at him and was starting to learn. The last couple of minutes, I took out his matriarch and started bashing in between jabs to keep it down and he was on his heels, but then I noticed from up on the tower that a bunch of his allies had shown up and were on flag so I bailed. It was a drawl. I hit F10 for shadowplay hoping to watch it over and it popped up that it started recording so it wasnt on. I was very disappointed.

You people seem to be overlooking the fact that gap closers have been completely redesigned for Elsweyr. Minimum range is gone, and the charge animation is a significantly faster.

The 1h/shield gap closer is also a stun. You have both a stun and a gap closer in one button. Again, minimum range is no longer a thing, you can use your charge to stun even if you're on top of your target.

That's also not a solo build. Otherwise i'd have to run Rally and Blood Craze for self healing, and Quick Cloak for major evasion and expedition. The build is mostly for bgs, i just threw in the cp to see how it would look in Cyrodiil.

Aurora Javelin is used by ranged magplars, it actually does a lot of dmg for a cc. Breath of Life is used in PvE. Ritual of Rebirth is also used in PvE, the other morph is entirely useless. Radiant Oppression is used in PvE as well, and i personally use it in PvP over the other morph. When i'm trying to kill another player i need more dmg, not healing.

A good mag dk is a nightmare for a vamp as it is. Next patch they're getting several substantial buffs so they'll be an even bigger problem. I expect to see a lot more magdks next patch due to all the buffs.

RAT gives major force as well as CC immunity and major expedition. Seems like a no brainer to me.

To make it simple. I'm dropping vamp because magdks are getting buffed, and RAT is a more useful tool than Elusive Mist.

Race Against Time (morph): This morph no longer reduces the cost of sprinting by 50% for 4 seconds. Instead, it now grants immunity to Snares and Immobilizations for 4 seconds.

That's what i meant. You mostly use mist to break out of roots anyways not to prevent hard cc.

You still take 20% more dmg from DB at stage 1. I also don't want to have to use a bloody mara or whatever it's called, or have to find to npc to feed every hour or two.

Also if he is using mist then he wont stay stage 1 for long lol, not to mention the cost of mist at stage 1 is abyssmal.

I been running Vamp on my magplar still. Switched to Dunmer for the burning immunity and resistance = not so bad. However, I have been noticing still that burning effect is applying even though I am immune?? Posted in Bug Reports. Just crickets in there though...

Magicka DKs are fine bluffs are not needed they are currently strong. In pvp DKs are your most played class atm.

Current populations based on what I see in the smaller engagements...Notice the stamplar.

1.Stam blades these guys are everywhere
2.Stam DKs almost in every small group we encounter.
    3. Stam Wardens not as easy to play as a DK because of the sheer amount of buffing and timing but more powerful.
    4. Stam sorcs extremely mobile
    5. Stamplar improvements in stam management but jabs are hurt by major evasion and are extremely buggy in heavy lag.

You people seem to be overlooking the fact that gap closers have been completely redesigned for Elsweyr.

What do you mean YOU people?

I'm very stoked for the new charge mechanics. With the Aurora set and improved Crescent ult it's gonna open up a very sweet burst window and be much more reliable.

I been running Vamp on my magplar still. Switched to Dunmer for the burning immunity and resistance = not so bad. However, I have been noticing still that burning effect is applying even though I am immune?? Posted in Bug Reports. Just crickets in there though...

When I researched a MagDK build, the build creator claimed that the Burning status proc from Burning Spellweave still hits Dark Elves. Maybe that's the source. Seems a bit BS to me though.

Really? Why would it? It even states its the status effect burning. Im skeptical.

It does. Only the burning status effect is prevented.

Burning from BSW still hits Dunmer along with any other "burning' from abilities (like destro reach)

Dont think I will ever go back to not having full swift and steed. RAT as is is pretty good on stamplar as well. I will miss the sprint speed cost reduction seeing as I already have a root snare immunity.

Just having swift jewelry and steed though, makes it much easier to land jabs and empowering sweeps and gets you out of trouble easier. Kind of a learning curve in tight spaces to not just go flying off a ledge after being used to being so slow.
