I have 1200 + 480 + 600 + desert rose. I thought i had enough mag recovery without desert rose. I was so wrong lol.

guys what is the optimal (relatively speaking lol) option for a Damage Dealing Heavy Magplar?

at least 2.5k unbuffed spelldamage and 34k magicka. a good built heavy magplar can get jabs tooltips up to 4.5k per tick, so you should aim for around 4k ticks.

thanks buddy. I've been using heavy Julianos and Rattlecage for ages but I'm not really satisfied with it anymore. what would you suggest to keep the 5 heavy.
I fancy trying Shacklebreaker but then my spell dam would plummet?!?!

you could craft heavy innate axiom and pair it with a damage oriented light armor set like spinners

Right....let me see if I can get a few ideas right.

I'd like to play in Heavy Armour and I'm attracted by the Shackle Heavy for the magicka boost but also for the pinch of stam I'd be getting

For the second set I have a lot of varied and perhaps not so good ideas so I think I could do with some help.

Calurion: it seems to hit pretty hard....when it does!
Overwhelming: I use lots of class abilities and the extra damage seems ok
Spinner: quite a solid choice given the extra penetration
War maiden: the 400 extra adame wodul apply only to 'the beam', SA and Puncturig Sweeeps...enough?
Axiom: already better than War Maiden in my opinion...I tend to use most class abilities.
Bright Throat: that would be like the build Alcast published...huge a mount of magicka pool!!

What do you guys think about the combo Shacke (heavy) plus one of the above sets?

One last question: in terms of damage...better to invest in a huge magicka pool or in spell damage?

    Thank for any sugestions

Thank you for raising this point: I never thought about it! I guess my aim is CP and please bear in mind that I'm above 900CP points

Yeah I just don’t see the point in the change. They want to make it more offensive but skills like that can be used to go offensive.

And to boot they buffed dawnbreaker damage so its a 9% dmg increase all around lol. They should have given it major vitality with the protection for mediocre dmg .

Race Against Time getting 4 seconds of snare/immobilization immunity is pretty great. We lose the 50% sprint cost reduction but I think it’s a good trade. This means ZOS finally realized that magplars and magdks shouldn’t have to be vamp to have any mobility, or deal with snares in the case of magplars.

Lol anyone think dark flare is going to cast 37% faster? That's a massive reduction. Probably going to kill the risk/ reward ratio completely.

Nice barrage buff and cp fix.

Always procing off balance with toppling charge is a fantastic change. Going to go a long way on damage and sustain when used correctly, and it benefits your teammates as well.

Gonna miss major protection on empowering sweep, but 6 to 18! seconds of empower plus the tick is interesting for stamplar. To bad they buffed dbos.... like.. wtf... either way im excited about 8m instead of 6 for my magplar.

I'll be checking my tooltips for radiant ward... Hiting 3 would either enable a 57% hp shield(28 in cyro, which my would be 7k on a 25k hp build.) Ooooorrree just 9% off the initial 30 which should make hiting 3 ppl only like 38% hp shield(about a 4.5k shield at 25k hp) Hope it's the first instance.

Eclipse now not only grants a stupid amount of cc immunity, but does crap dmg to the point ppl will ignore it to finish a burst combo and not really be punished. Make it cheaper at least.

Lol night blades...tf did zos do?!

They nerf the damage by that much if I recall and changed the cast from 1.1(?) to 1 and changed the travel time.

Happen to know how that 9% per enemy is calculated?

But I need my resto to heal my alliance members! They are usually not the...brightest people when oils are dropping. Plus I feel kinda sick when I leave someone for dead or see a new player getting ganked. Love stopping those gank attempts, at least when its possible!

I actually might just move to an even better build. Somehow I'm never satisfied on mag templar anyway, at least after Homestead...

I love these patch notes. Combined with the last overhaul, they have basically covered every issue I had with the class. With the immobilization immunity for RaT and the range increase for Crescent they have put the cherry on top of my magplar cake!

Now if only I had more time to play... :(

The loss of major protection from empowering sweep and light's champion (resto ult) is a blow to any who want to play in smaller groups (or gods forbid, solo) as a magplar. At least we still have pirate skeleton as buggy as it is.

    Hi templars.
A friend of mine has started eso. He is 400cp looking to get into small scale PvP CP.
We are looking for a DW/SnB magplar tanky build without any success.
If you could give us a detailed build we would appreciate your work

I had a very quick look at the notes and I must admit i'm not testing the patch directly. However, correctly if I'm wrong, magplars will come out weaker than most classes. Am I exaggerating? Maybe i'm just pissed off about dark flare lol

Certain playstyles changed. Imo, the class as a whole got a significant boost with off balance (exploiter 10%ddmg boost, sustain, damage), cp scaling for barrage with an extra instant dmg tick with no reduction in damage. Im going to enjoy having a hard cc gap closer back too. Between topling and channeled acceleration, hello mobility.
