So about that communication, ZOS...

Hi everyone. First of all, you aren't wrong. We agree we haven't been communicating as much as we should on this matter (among others) and for that, we apologize. There really is no excuse.
While we do have a backlog of improvements identified for the game, it’s clear we could do a better job of answering those kinds of inquiries, both for the player community and ourselves.

In time we’ll also want to share more about the vision and strategy that will drive future combat updates.

Is there a plan for improving meaningful, consistent communication with the community regarding game breaking bugs or even just known bugs in general? Not just long term, but short term as well? :)

I was referring to ZOS communicating with the community regarding current bugs in the game, many of which are game breaking (such as the issues facing trials right now). Gina admitted they hadn't been communicating as well as they could have been, but since there hasn't been much of an update since that post I was curious to see if they would be implementing a plan to improve that sort of communication. In another forum someone mentioned how some games release a "newsletter" type update on the forums to keep the community updated on known bugs in the game and the progress which was being made to address those issues.

She admitted herself that they hadn't been communicating as well as they should have been on the issues currently facing trials. Those were her words, not mine. I was simply following up with her statement to see if they are developing a plan to prevent similar situations from repeating in the future :)

I'd love to see ZoS comment on this one. There are NUMEROUS gamebreaking combat bugs reported in the past year that have yet to even be acknowledged by zenimax. The knockback bug is the primary one for me, but we also have things like the sprint bug and the various dawnbreaker bugs that must be "Tough ones to figure out" since they haven't been commented on.

They're more concerned with other aspects of the game, combat has always taken a back seat.

At this point I would even be happy if they just acknowledged the bugs. I get that bug fixes can take time...but at least acknowledge them so that the community knows they are being worked on.

As for my end, there is a plan, but we need time to get it fleshed out and implemented. I don't want to speak on behalf of Rob in regards to the vision and strategy for the game moving forward, but he has been hard at work getting this together. Again, these things take time and isn't something you'll see after just a couple days.

There is a reason that emote was disabled during one of the last ESO streams...

But if you guys are serious about communication, that could be a huge turning point from a community satisfaction standpoint.

Mention the knockback bug & the disappearing dawnbreaker bugs at the next staff meeting, will you?

My general rule of thumb when it comes to ZOS' communication time frame is to think " How long would it take my school board, my principal, and all the teachers at my school to develop, agree to, and implement an idea?"

For bug fixes, its more like "How long would it take the teachers to notice a problem, document the problem, test solutions, find one that works, and get the principal's approval to share with everyone else?"

My schools do their best, but I don't expect quick fixes from them or from ZOS anymore.

No, not in Beta - you are on a gaming system that was more an afterthought. Consoles have never had the full compatibility and performance that PC has had in this game.

Unfortunately, my trials guild has done this as well :/ over 400 members and now it's a ghost town since we had to stop running our daily vet trials until they are playable again.

The UI was an after thought but if you think PC x86 and console x86 is different, well that's on you. I don't think the compilers are that different either. Also don't think consoles as the majority of the population is an after thought.

And yet the complaints from console have been going on since day ONE and have only gotten worse - so that's not on me, I know more about it than you may think.

It's much, much more than just the UI - if it were just the UI no one would be bitching incessantly about performance issues. Performance issues that I do NOT have on PC.

@ZOS_GinaBruno Any discussion about the recent ping increase to Oceania and possible ways to fix? I mentioned this in person to @ZOS_MattFiror at PAXAus.
The lag is appalling, even when not engaged in combat. Venturing into VMA now - especially after the shield nerf - would be a hair-tearing exercise in pure frustration.

In short, your Oceanic customers feel extremely neglected.
