Oceanic Lag now 300-400 ms even with a vpn - was 250-300??

The entire PC EU server has major performance issues since the latest maintenance.
If they can't fix the PC EU server and improve its performance so it will be somewhat fine when compared to PC NA, there is no hope for you to get an Oceanic Server or better overall performance for Oceanic players.

I hope I'm wrong and ZOS will do something one day.

Interesting. 1 Year ago there was a job advertised for "ZeniMax ANZ Community Manager". Guess it wasn't filled. Sorely needed to represent this region for these issues impacting us.

Additionally, it would appear all Zenimax employees employed here are sales and marketing only. Ideally they'd have a testing capability here to test out non-vpn connections first hand from this regiom over a variety of ISP's with the aim of optimizing connectivity. The folk in the USA are clearly out of touch and distant to this issue. The player base is suffering here. This is solvable, they need more commitment to this region and revenue will increase.

On a positive from the Oceanic end, at least we do not have to deal with a login queue to get into game at all like the PC-EU players do at the moment...

Can we get an answer or acknowledgement on what is going on with the connections for the NZ players? I'm not one but I have several friends who play from NZ and haven't been able to PvP and can barely do anything else for weeks now because their ping is insane. Pretty unprofessional that ZoS hasn't bothered to update their playerbase on this issue.

It took them some months before they acknowledged the problems with EU (https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/467936/pc-eu-server-update-april-11#latest). Given how far we rank below EU we might get a response sometime next decade.

The difference here is that the issue with the EU server is that there are simply too many players for that server to handle. In our case, we are asking that they simply cease using Akamai, or apply pressure to it to stop routing our traffic via the longest route possible. Different problems means that we should be able to expect differences in the response time. To argue otherwise is akin to saying that if a broken bone takes 6-8 weeks to heal, then a papercut must also take 6-8 weeks.

This is my world since a maintenance outage late in January. Any built up area that has more than 5 players lag spikes from the 300+ connectivity that I typically have to 999+

Participating in events is terrible.

Here I'm simply trying to turn in two quests in Summerset to get anniversary boxes.

You can see other players teleport lagging around me and the 999+ latency. Engaging the NPC's to get them to respond takes minutes of pressing E to talk to them.

I'm simply trying to click through the menu's to get the reward. The lag is so great that even clicking through these is too hard for the game to respond in most cases and the same voice dialogue is heard over and over.

Eventually, on the second quest, the game kicks me without even providing an error message. It simply gives up, too hard.

@ZOS_GinaBruno < This is what your game looks to me from Australia during US peak time.

Outside of US peak times, there's less players on so I can normally complete these quests with less lag. Saying this though, the lag is there constantly, even on 300+ latency.

Can we please get acknowledgement of this issue and when it will be remedied? It never used to play like this.

That's after they finish loading, as the last of the world objects to render. Then they have to finish sweeping or jotting notes.
Meanwhile, attacking enemies are killing me and stalking me to the ends of the earth, before they finish rendering.

This is not challenging game play; it's psychopathia.

Was just in Arena at Gold Coast. Lag was bad but I did the best I could to contribute. Then BAM!...everyone was gone and boss was dead.

I ventured into Cyrodil, which was always going to be a challenge due to the issues there anyway, but wanted to add that being unable to weapon swap or cast ultimates makes pvp much harder than it should be.

Sadly I agree.
I will definitely log on once Elswyer drops to see if ping has gone up by another 20-30.
I'm expecting it to do so seeing as it has done so each time dlc has been released since summerset.

I am getting 290+350 this is so bad. might just leave and go back to WoW at least they have servers for us and full of players still. I get 20 or less ping there.

LOL considering turning in quests is a lag fest, PvP is off limits, all I'll experience there is sadness.

The game servers seem to be in meltdown at the moment judging by other threads.

reading this about the Eu server, seems part of the problem is also sheer numbers, as they think Na will soon meet the same problems that Eu has.

Along with Akamai this is pretty brutal for us Oceanic gamers but maybe there is a little hope that when zos gets new infrastructure we may seem some improvement. Of course we have heard all the bla bla bla about improvements before.

I never could get into WoW.

I've tried a bunch of other MMOs but can't find anything else that's like ESO.

I really like the ESO combat system and simple 5 skills only on the skill bar.

WoW has too many skill bars for me and I feel like I'm just standing around spamming button "1" and "2" in combat most of the time.
Same with FFXIV

So unless I can get myself out of that, I'm open to other game suggestions
