Doubt an Oceanic Server would alleviate the problem, you are still going to hit the Akamai hops and receive packet loss and high latency. Personally connect from Canada here, although a typical latency sits around 100ms it is far from consistent, usually fluctuating up to the 300ms - 400ms range and spiking between 2k - 10k.
You’ll find that a lot of us never wanted an Oceanic server. A lot of us knew that was unreasonable. Still no excuses for the absolutely disgraceful performance we have to endure. They promoted the game heavily down here and charged full price for it. The region is entitled to a working game and we are not getting it. So we’re not going to shut up until they address the issue and stop ignoring it.

We have repeatedly noted that we are not asking primarily for an oceanic server. We have specifically asked for them to not use something other than Akamai, or to apply pressure to Akamai to use a more direct route.

I doubt anyone will be left if that’s the case

Exactly this. I'll add that when many of us started playing we were well under the red 300 ping so we paid to play.
The traces and time-frames prove it is a problem with Akamai. Since Akamai most of us have shown consistent 360+MS. 400+ms in Cyro and our ISP's agree it is Akamai that is the problem and they can't fix it because ZoS is using Akamai's scrubbers.
I have tagged Combat Lead in another thread as well as this one, and PMed about this because What is the point of redesigning combat when it's predicated on working bar swaps, hit boxes reflecting where the user sees their character and light attack weaving when these are nigh impossible to do consistently with red ping?
Answer: SEAsians and Oceanics apparently pay to play a half baked combat system.

Well, the Bosmer stealth thread is creeping up on 55. Give it a shot?
Perhaps I should rephrase what I wrote earlier, we are all in the same boat when it comes to Akamai. There is nothing I would like more than to see this problem get resolved, at its current state the game is unplayable. Reactive combat mixed with high latency and packet loss just doesn't end well. Went and contacted Bethesda about the issue since ZOS support cannot be bothered to fix it, of course they just send you right back to ZOS support. Maybe it is time we tracked down the contact information for the Board of Directors and Management at ZeniMax Media, perhaps they are more willing to listen to our concerns.
*EDIT*

I'd post contacts in here but that might get your discussion locked albeit it would get an actual moderator in here. Contact information for ZeniMax ANZ PR Manager is listed on here: https://igea.net/members/zenimax-australia/

I love this game & the people in my guild but at this rate it feels like there is an approaching end point for my relationship with both. A terminus not of my choosing but one when the game degrades to a point it's simply unplayable.

A mod edit would REALLY take the pi55!!Hortator Indoril Nerevar wrote: »Other games have oceanic servers.. is ESO so dead they cant do it?
its an endless cycle of people leaving because the lag is shithouse and not enough people lmao i don't think they have grasped that yet.
inb4 message gets edited by a mod but no response on thread

I hope there is because this can't remain like it is.
