    Doubt an Oceanic Server would alleviate the problem, you are still going to hit the Akamai hops and receive packet loss and high latency. Personally connect from Canada here, although a typical latency sits around 100ms it is far from consistent, usually fluctuating up to the 300ms - 400ms range and spiking between 2k - 10k.

    You’ll find that a lot of us never wanted an Oceanic server. A lot of us knew that was unreasonable. Still no excuses for the absolutely disgraceful performance we have to endure. They promoted the game heavily down here and charged full price for it. The region is entitled to a working game and we are not getting it. So we’re not going to shut up until they address the issue and stop ignoring it.

    Edited for angry spelling mistakes.

    I don't think it could be said any better than this. What ever the issue is we deserve a good look into the issues currently. While its easy to snort at us that deal with it. Remember we are forced to play with sometimes insane pings with you. Everyone should want us to have a more stable connection as i am sure it causes no end of issues for others as well.

    Far too often i will have everything freeze up in combat. Only to have everything catch up and normally it means death for me or everything i was attacking was long since dead.

    We have repeatedly noted that we are not asking primarily for an oceanic server. We have specifically asked for them to not use something other than Akamai, or to apply pressure to Akamai to use a more direct route.

    I would love to know why Akamai is not using a direct route if thats the case. As well as what other options could be put foward to help with ping issues this side as well.

    20 pages and still not a peep @ZOS_GinaBruno ? Shame on you and shame on the entire team. How can you ignore an issue like this and people begging for replies for this long? Everything people have mentioned here... it's not just a few people its an entire region affected.

    It's almost like you don't want them playing anymore and don't want their money. Shocker, cause I thought ZOS LOVED that green stuff. Make it rain right? I mean, I've already moved off to ffxiv which is a much more enjoyable mmo (in my opinion) but I stick around here on the forums for my NZ / AUS peeps who still want to support the game and keep playing with their friends here.

    You guys need to stop ignoring this, the more you comment on trivial bug posts or the like I've seen you reply to lately and the more you ignore THIS, the more and more you utterly **** off your loyal oceanic playerbase to the point they'll hate you and hate the game. C'mon staff, you're better than this. Right?

    Oh who am i kidding Molag bal probably has better customer service in the entirety of Coldharbour than you guys do at this point :trollface:

    Yet drones of people still mindless pay thier subs and keep lashing out on crowns when they cant play the game.

    Its obvious that zos has zero respect for the oceanic community as they are always trying their hardest to remove and break this already fragmented community. No wonder its the smallest oceanic community in any mmo ive ever played. Not worth they money.

    They dont want you as a customer.

    Exactly this. I'll add that when many of us started playing we were well under the red 300 ping so we paid to play.

    The traces and time-frames prove it is a problem with Akamai. Since Akamai most of us have shown consistent 360+MS. 400+ms in Cyro and our ISP's agree it is Akamai that is the problem and they can't fix it because ZoS is using Akamai's scrubbers.

    I have tagged Combat Lead in another thread as well as this one, and PMed about this because What is the point of redesigning combat when it's predicated on working bar swaps, hit boxes reflecting where the user sees their character and light attack weaving when these are nigh impossible to do consistently with red ping?

    Answer: SEAsians and Oceanics apparently pay to play a half baked combat system.

    Weaving and even swapping bars is a joke when your ping sits too high and spikes alot higher. It can feel pretty depressing when you want to give your team your all but sadly some things are out of your hands.

    We, as aussie understand we will get ping and we live 'X' distance away from the server... We get it, we understand it.

    Why is that zos and arenanet servers are pretty close to one another but yet my ping
    Eso = 450-600+
    Gw2 = 180-220

    Even tried swtor a few times and got between 200-230
    Eve came in a 120-160
    Tera got 200-230

    If the ping is not bad enough, could rip into the lack of actual tangible content.

    Why those other games actually have a sea/ocx communities.

    Perhaps I should rephrase what I wrote earlier, we are all in the same boat when it comes to Akamai. There is nothing I would like more than to see this problem get resolved, at its current state the game is unplayable. Reactive combat mixed with high latency and packet loss just doesn't end well. Went and contacted Bethesda about the issue since ZOS support cannot be bothered to fix it, of course they just send you right back to ZOS support. Maybe it is time we tracked down the contact information for the Board of Directors and Management at ZeniMax Media, perhaps they are more willing to listen to our concerns.

    I love this game & the people in my guild but at this rate it feels like there is an approaching end point for my relationship with both. A terminus not of my choosing but one when the game degrades to a point it's simply unplayable.

    This is the case for me too. My connection is 3x faster than the line I had when I first bought the game, but my pings are higher (average 320-400), and the actual lag feels 100x worse. As a PVP only player, my evening gaming experience seems to consist of 45 seconds of loading screens, 30 second ride to near a keep.... followed by a disconnect before I actually see an enemy player.... relog, repeat. It never used to be that way, but actual PVP gameplay is becoming quite hard to find. I still enjoy the game WHEN I can actually play without the above issue, but I've honestly started to think that the game now provides a ratio of frustration to enjoyment that makes it fairly pointless to continue.

    It was not so bad at the start the ping remained manageable although still annoying for us. When i returned not long ago after a few years off i found the game to be in such a worse state for us ping wise.

    So i came here to ask why and was filled in about Akamai... :"(

    Best solution ( we won't get) out own server this way. They already said they will not do this and explained they believe it would be a dead server type deal (***).

    Other solutions would be : bugger off Akamai w/e crap or tell them to use a better route.
