Update on Steam Login Issues

    To be honest - this "update" doesn't tell us anything . It looks like simple PR blah blah.

    Also consider this: I can login to NA server and at the same time I can't login to EU server. Both authentications are going through US servers. Granted - they are going through different IP pools so might be that those are different authentication servers, but still i fail to see how it could be Steam's fault whatsoever.

    well, maybe soon they wil llet us know also what the problem was... i'm surely they have interest in fixing it.. a lot of players are steam playerss... and i bet they can see if people desub .. and they donìt want to lose subbers

    Most probably don't look at it this way. They firmly believe ZOS needs money. They have the resources, which also brings me to think they dare overprice pixels in the store outrageously. If they can afford to cast the likes of Kate Beckinsale or other Hollywood stars as voice actors they are at least as far from poverty as is Neptune from the sun.

    I TOLD MANY TIMES!! its not working for ppl who bought in steam after December 2016

    I bought in Nov/Dec last year and buying base through ZOS worked for me. I was able to login and play with eso64.exe.

    1. there is no "Sign in through Steam", first you need to click account on main page and then small grey image with "login to steam" text which is barely seeing on 4k... anyway next
    2. enter my steam login and password and lick login
    there is error "Note that account.elderscrollsonline.com is not affiliated with Steam or Valve"
    click login one more time and logged in
    3. logged out, and click "forgot password" not a reset
    4. got email from ESO with link and create a new password
    5. run
    6. used login and password which I just reset.
    7. got a message that I should run the game trough the steam. A CODE??? No code here, only error.
    BTW whatever password I use it tells that I should run the game via steam.

    What I am doing wrong?

    When this really solved the issue, then maybe it is somekind of "communication" or "actualisation" problem between the TOS and Steam server? Seems to me that the Steam Server is slower adapting to the new information regarding the updates and the stored user data and therefore causes these issues - does he got to much info at a time which he can not process fully and therefore "needs" more time to do it correctly?

    Well at least thanks for an update. I personally don't see the crate (that, knowing my luck, is going to contain a couple of potions and some ugly headpiece) as enough but I understand the issue is difficult to solve. At least it's a step in the right direction communication-wise.

    If I can't login today, will I be missing out on the last daily login reward (the 5 free crown crates)? That would make me a little sad.

    lol i have like 1k hours and around 300 euros i bet i have spent on crowns and all in 4 months.. not gonna rebuy it all ( plus all the time invested etc)

    ZOS, deliver us from Steam. Set us free.

    I have 2k+ hours and hundreds of dollars invested.

    I want to disconnect from Steam permanently and only deal with you directly.

    I even left a negative review on Steam to help fans and new players understand this is a great game that shouldn't be purchased through Steam.

    It's been more than 2 days since I had a good experience though Steam. I've been unable to get past the character login for several weeks. This problem has been the same one that started with Summerset and it's getting worse.

    I wonder for how long they will fix it now? Weeks? Days? Hours? Minutes? How many conversations with steam you will have before you actually fix this problem for good? And why after so many times you still need to figure out what is causing these login issues? Is the reason always different?

    Say NO to Crown Crates. Crown Crates are Loot Boxes. Loot Boxes are gambling. Zenimax makes enough money off us.
    ESO+ is part of the "Games as a service" trend. A trend that needs to die. Subscribe only when you need Crowns for DLC.
    Say no to "radiant" junk quests replacing proper side content and the dumbing down of our favorite franchises.

    This issue is getting extremely annoying. I want to unlink Steam from my ESO account. I'm even willing to pay for the game again if I must, if you can guarantee that I can keep my eso account with all my character progression.

    An extra crate is nice, but I would rather see this issue fixed permanently!

    You must be new to MMOs. Your progression never gets deleted. It's all saved in your account. Do you think your progression will be gone if you uninstall the game from your PC?

    Then again, please do not give them more money for a problem they are responsible for.

    A Solution to this (recurrent) issue?

    It seems to me that this is a "computation" problem. The steam server is slower in processing data it receives from the ZOS server. Hence the "timeout messages" we EU Server user receive and why it takes more time to work again?
    He is not that fast ...
