Really skeptical about jewelry crafting. Not looking forward to it. Just seems like there are a million ways it could ruin balance, invalidate vet content rewards, and tank the value of existing jewelry.

this depends on if they allow improvement of jewellery like equipment crafting or only the crafting of items like enchantments.

As someone who runs vet content, people only care about that for the first few runs, then pretty quickly everyone has their gold Infal rings or whatever and they are just vendor trash.

Oh good great Julianos! The next chapter looks like it will be so big!

Sotha Sil, Artaeum and something Daedric happening in the aftermath of the Coldharbour events... I think we'll learn more about the Coldharbour Compact, and I can't wait! Also, Darien Gauthier! By Mara, I can't believe this will be so big.

Any chance we'll also know what happened to Falinesti, since we'll face Mephala? Some news from Nairume?

Other random hopes:
• I hope we will see a Gheatus buried in a forgotten cave somewhere.
• I hope we get to know why KINM... sorry, Ayrenn, needed that Magnus Staff (by the way, isn't Meridia supposed to be linked to Magnus?)
• Since we might see Aurorans, I hope we'll also see the yet-mysterious Lustrants.
• I hope Selene's web will get a Part II.
• I hope we'll see male Perthans in Mephala's Realm.
• I hope we will see Sload airships.

Also, psijic skill line! Spellcrafting! Jewelry crafting! Oh my! :D

Hype intensifies...

Jewellery crafting - I would assume it would be limited to crafted sets only. ZOS won't want people running normal trials to get blue jewellery and then upgrading that to gold, since that would negate the reason for running Vet trials other than for scores or the titles. For dungeon sets, people would probably still run those on Vet HM for the double keys of course - but then I can't see them allowing upgrading of useful DLC jewellery like SPC.
Just saying.

It will depend on how difficult it will be to get golden tempers, I guess. If it is strictly tied to the vet content, or the risky deconstruction of very expensive items, it might still be balanced, I guess. Also, I'm wondering whether we will get to see the jewelry on our character's hands.

Also, there are around 144 total Summerset Isle map cells. Vvardenfell only had 81. This means Summerset's map will be quite large, 12x12 map image cells as opposed to Vvardenfell's 9x9

^ Most underrated fact. Summerset will be almost twice as big as Vvardenfell.
I wonder how much will be inaccessible. There are loading screens for Eton Nir, so the highest mountain is in the game.

Hello everyone,

We at UESP have been busy datamining and compiling info for some very anticipated systems/places/people that we will be seeing in the Summerset Chapter and any subsequent DLC's. Our last post was received well by the community, so we're happy to present the biggest (and juciest) part of our datamining series, Part 3 - Artaeum, Spiral Skein, Psijic Order, Jewellery Crafting and More!

This article contains more information about Summerset Isle itself, including confirmed locations (and a map of every town/city appearing in the chapter), Jewellery crafting, Mephala's Realm, Artaeum Zone, Darien returning, Psijic Order skill line/class and potentially joinable guild which you will likely be seeing in the upcoming Summerset Chapter and subsequent DLCs. This post is part three (and possibly final) of the update 17 series (we will likely do more for other updates), and we've made sure to pack it full of datamining and lorebits on the topics mentioned.

Link to the post

If you haven't seen them, we recommend you read our previous posts:

Blog post one, which is about the Sload, the slug-like necromantic beings who inhabit the islands around Summerset Isle.

Blog post two, which is about Summerset Isle itself and Spellcrafting.

As always, we invite you to join our official Discord server to talk about ESO, lore, datamining, or any of the Elder Scrolls games in general.

MY GOOD MADDAM OR SIR, WHERE IS THE SPELLCRAFTING? I hope :|:| thanks for the info :D

Jewelry crafting prompts contradictory thoughts.

First, the datamine indicates "separate jewellery crafting stations in towns and cities". That is not where you make sets, at least the ones currently in the game.

So either a) they are going to have to add new crafting stations to every single crafting hub "in the wild", which seems tedious to put it mildly; b) they will "unlock" current crafted sets so that one could make Julianos rings in town; or c) the station will only craft either brand new 2/3 piece sets or existing Agility/Willpower/Endurance. Somehow I suspect that (c) is more likely, but obviously that is just a guess.

In any case, this alone seems to complicate things.

But then secondly, there is also the issue of materials. They are just going to, what, seed new material nodes in the game? Or are they going to add a %% roll to mining or whatever to get some materials? I mean, they have to make the thing available commonly enough so that newbie players can craft a ring or some such. But on the other hand I would guess there is a finite number of node spawn locations, and perhaps not so finite that they couldn't shoehorn a new type of resource, but still.

Third - writs. Are we going to have seven types now? And how exactly is that going to work? [Just think - suppose they introduce crafting dailies for jewelry. Well, doesn't that need a new box object at each turn-in location to put the goods into? And for master writs, well, that takes us back to which sets will the stations actually be able to make.]

And after all that there is the issue of upgrading. I actually think - firmly believing in humanity's fallibility - that they might very well just let us upgrade any ring from green to blue to purple to gold. [Which basically means - stock up on green Spriggan's now...I am serious. At worst, it's not a very expensive bet to make.] As a selfish and greedy player, I welcome this, because now I can grind dolmens for Spriggans or I can grind the craft nodes...err...whatever source of jewelry upgrade materials there will be. Or just grind gold and buy the mats. But as a participant in the game's crafting economy, ye gods, if they get this wrong we could be in for months of pricing dislocation. Not to mention the, yes, it no longer being necessary to run content >9000 times to get purples/golds.

So summing up - I am not against jewelry crafting (spellcrafting, on the other hand...). I want to see what they come up with. But there are just so many complications, and in my experience greater complexity == exponentially greater chance of screwing it up.

Oh, and of course kudos to the UESP people for digging up the info in the first place.
