I can log in to EU server, but not NA. I'm also unable to log in to my account on the website, it won't let me reset password, and steam credentials log in gives 'page not found'. So I can't even put in a support request.

@ZOS As stated previously, please provide steam users with an option to log in using the default launcher. Players who purchased the game through steam before the accounts were linked have this option, so it can't be that difficult to implement. I have run into this problem before, where steam issues mean I cannot log into the game at all, even though the game servers are up and other users are able to play fine. Steam is a convenient distribution network for game files, but it shouldn't be such a fail point for logging into an mmo.

While the overlaying issue "appears to be a steam issue", Im not convinced that the underlying issue isnt related to the long launcher load, the long load in from password, the long load in from character select and the long load from zoning. Sounds to me like it's more of a time out in steam due to whatever the long loads are which is a ZOS problem.

It's hard to know what the problem is when Steam hasn't even acknowledged the issue and ZOS said they fixed it and obviously wasn't fixed. Steam community discussions are on fire, as well.

Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

If you can see "\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Zenimax Online\Launcher\Bethesda.net_Launcher.exe" then you have the original Bethesda launcher. Shut Steam down and run it. Some people have said bypassing Steam disables ESO+ but it's working fine for me. The only difficulty is ZoS' brain damaged faux-security nonsense making you reauthorize your PC for the umpteenth time before the launcher becomes fully usable.

I don't understand this reference. I can log in to EU just fine, so if there are complaints from countries outside NA it's because they are using NA servers, not because this is some world wide issue.

If you purchased the game through steam after the accounts were all automatically linked (I forgot the date, but it was a month before I originally bought an ESO account) then you have no login credentials to plug into the game. It is all provided by steam, so there is no way to log in through the ZOS launcher.

yup... simply because you can log into the EU server just fine... that obviously means the other thousands of players can do it too... right......
however, that was not my point.. i was simply trying to be funny in my post above, but that too eluded you

Unlink all accounts from steam. I cant play game because of steam. When we wanted unlink them you said 'we cannot unlink, you passed so many days since linked them' if you dont unlink you lose so many players like that.

If you do this on an account bought via Steam after November, 2016, the login will say the UserID does not exist, and if you purchased the game through Steam you need to log into the game through Steam.

You have about a 24~48 hour grace period before your ESO+ will stop working.

Will this issue possibly get you guys to fix the game so that it doesn't try to install the entire game twice through steam? Once through steam (old version), then once through the launcher? Either only have the launcher and relevant DLC files or keep the game up to date via steam.

Danggit, happening to me now too. Keeps going back and forth between Can't Connect and Internal Error messages every time I try to restart the launcher.

    Likewise, PC NA on Steam.

Any sort of ETC? I would say once it become a 12 hour issue perhaps you should share with the community your progress. Otherwise your "actively" is highly subjective. Plus I have to say the first line there; "To reiterate, this issue is only impacting our players on Steam. " When you say something like that and don't give an update on progress/status kind of seems like you are really saying. To reiterate, we are moderating our response because it only effects a select portion of our player base.. Just saying.

Dang I thought this would be fixed by today. I know a few people mentioned this but I wanted to give the info also.

I get the error launching the normal way through Steam. If I switch to EU I can at least get to the character selection screen.

My account was originally not made through Steam but I did link it. So I tried going straight to eso64.exe at steamlibrarylocation\steamapps\common\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client and I was able to login and play characters.
