    @SinNoAria , there is a workaround for that so you don't have to download/update/repair separately or twice.
    • When you first purchase through Steam, let the game start the download, then pause it.
    • This will create the steam game link and the directory structure for the main game (which is, in all other ways, identical, and does not need to be redundant).
    • Delete any downloaded files and simply keep the top directory intact.
    • Use mklink or similar program to create a directory junction to the location of the PC installation folder, pointing to "Zenimax"

    • This will basically point the Steam download to the actual file location.
    • Last thing is to change StateFlags value to 4 (This will tell Steam it's been downloaded and ready to go.)

    Except your post above, @ClockworkCityBugs , ceases to be valid after two hours of gameplay. They could code it to require steam login for the first two hours, after that, it's completely unnecessary, as the game is paid and set in stone at that point.

    If you want to autologin, great. But, past the 2 hour mark, you should be able to login and access from anywhere you have a valid login and a valid client.

    Still if the middle man goes down...you get this. happened when steam got DDOS'd a few times before. 24 hrs is the record that i can remember
    @Gprime31 you go through the middleman for the benefits they provide.

    You launch through Steam to have access to Steam features (overlay, achieves, whatever). If you don't need access to those at a given moment, you should still be able to access the game, albeit without the Steam features.

    When you buy a car from the dealership, they might give you free car washes for the first year (Steam benefit/feature).

    If you're low on fuel at 3 am, you don't wait around for dealership to open so you can get permission. You simply head to the local gas station and continue using your vehicle as usual.

    Steam servers and ZoS servers clearly exchange information. There is zero reason why one should not be able to use login credentials directly once they game/DLC/Crown purchases have been confirmed as valid.

    @Merlin13KAGL , thanks for the great description but I really am fine. That day I logged in I played PvE and PvP all day until 9pm to which I left to go watch Stargate Atlantis and some movies. This morning I was able to log in via steam the normal way as usual and have full access to all my characters and eso+ acc sub.

    That said, If I see anyone on steam post issues I'll direct them to your work. Thanks ;-)

    Because thread at https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/395910/the-steam-login-is-not-fixed-12-hours-and-counting#reply-anchor is from some nonsense reason closed, then I have to put reply over there.

    Steam login is still NOT fixed!!
    I dont know how long, but at min. from yesterday 17pm CET not working.. (its more than 24 hours ago)
    - in my case launcher is missing play button - WTF?! :D:D:D

    As a work-around works to start game manually btw..

    But if nobody knows and he has eso+ membership, I am pretty sure you will refund him this membership, correct?

    So still no response? All things considered, I'm seriously considering quitting and taking my friends with me seeing as how clearly ZoS doesn't care. 3-10 players is probably nothing to ZoS, but I see no reason to support a company like this.

    Who knows though, maybe they are just being slow and will respond before I do leave and maybe they did say something elsewhere that I somehow missed.

    Some of us were missing ESO+ for days. At least some of us couldn't even log in for days after the U17 patch.

    Well, one thing that a reboot does is get Windows to reset the network connection and the network stack that is associated with it, along with any malware software that might have decided to block a port that ESO uses.

    I ran into this problem earlier today and was able to fix it by following the steps listed here:

    Any chance steam players get to play? As an ESO+ user, it is annoying when two weekends in a row I can't login for extended periods.

    Ok ZOS I have been more than patient over the last 2 years with recurring steam issues, I've waited for a fix and not bothered to complain but enough is enough now. I get you have legal agreements in place with third parties so you are unable to allow steam users to jump ship, but buy a copy from you guys is a con. Its time you made the base game free to all for 48 hrs, you would not loose a significant amount of money (treat it as a lost leader ) but it would give your player base choices.

    On another note, you are adding insult to injury with your lack of information, how hard would it be to provide issue progress reports every 30 mins (in response to the ongoing issues the mega servers will be taken offline) it means nothing unless you tell us when and how long its likely to be off line and what you are hoping to achieve.
