    1. I launch the steam client
    2. I goto my Library and right click on Elder Scrolls Online and select '"Play Game'.
    3. The Launcher pops up and I click on 'Play'.
    4. After the logo screens go through their animations, or I escape through them, or I click through them the game says "logging in". Then the error pops up.

    I can log into EU just fine with the same method.

    It appears to be only with the NA server for me. I can login to the EU server, create a character and play without any issues.

    Can confirm, Steam NA is the only one that gives an error.

    I wanna get back to my Research fast... :confounded:

    Yep, also affected. Stuck at the original splash login screen.

    PC/NA, Steam user.

    Same issue. Steam, NA.
    Just before this happened, it also showed that I did NOT have an ESO plus account (and I do). I know this because craft items started showing up in my inventory, when they should have been in my craft bag, and hovering my mouse over the bag said it was locked because I was not an ESO member.
    I tried logging out and logging back in to see if it would correct this, and i could not do so. I was getting the same error message others have noted.

    Confirmed . Checked the same. I cant login to NA (internal error) but I can login & get to char screen under EU

    I still have problems logging in via Steam, but I succeed with eso64.exe. My Craft Bag is locked, unfortunately, as I purchased ESO+ through Steam.
    Interesting observation: my character right now in Daggerfall, and it's almost completely deserted, I ran around and saw only two-three other players. Normally at this time of the day it has dozens if not hundreds of players.
    So, I suspect it's widespread issue, which gives me a hope that it would be eventually addressed.

    Steam NA.

    This blows, wasted my only bit of game time for the next 3 days... ffs!

    Also kind of ridiculous that I can login just fine with esp64.exe but it doesn't reflect my ESO+ membership yet all my Crowns show just fine. Why can't you guys at least have the account management system reflect ESO+ bought through Steam yet the Crowns show just fine? Kind of ridiculous if you ask me.

    1. My Steam and ESO accounts are linked. I launch ESO via Steam.
    2. I am in NA and trying to log into PC-NA. For completeness, I tried PC-EU and was able to login.
    3. OS X High Seirra (10.13.3) MBP Retina 15" Mid-2015. My OS is fully up-to-date (no updates today).
    4. Steam is able to authenticate itself (exit and re-login). Other games are able to update (Don't Starve Together) and launch (Sid Meier's Civilization VI). My Steam client is fully up-to-date (no client updates today).

    Nothing changed on my end between working (been playing for most of the day ;)) and not working (I logged out for a brief break and could not log back in).

    I did find a temporary workaround by launching ESO64.exe directly from the game files. Gotta put in username/password, and possibly an access code. This will only work if your ESO account wasn't created through Steam (if you're like me and had an account prior to Steam launch and linked it to Steam).

    Sadly, this doesn't seem to work for OS X using the game_mac/pubplayerclient/eso App with Steam open. :'(

    I'm in the same boat as everyone else, but when I logged in on my friends pc it worked fine. Just like normal.

    That is rather odd then... maybe ZOS is working on a fix and he is one of the first to work? Unless it worked for him the whole time...

    Most likely not. This is a stupid/odd issue to begin with, that only Steam users are experiencing this issue, and only on NA.

    Plus the support site of ESO is also down, so I'm totally lost.

    I just hope they fix this fast , or at least reimburse us somehow, cause a lot of people have Research waiting, or an ESO+ subscription wasted
