I for one don't have much problems with Altmer - it's just the matter of how well your face meshes with the hairstyle&color, and whether you can live with a pointy chin or not.
Their lips could use a mesh update though, and their (like all elves) eyes some white in them, even in Oblivion or Morrowind they had normal eyes (heck even in the cinematics the elves HAVE whites in their eyes - both the female hero and Mannimarco. And for the record, elves in previous games were more like neanderthal elves with their giant brow ridges and bulging eyes...glad we're where we are now
)

✭✭✭✭✭I don't think face features is main problem of high elves, there are a lot beautiful combinations. Problem is very big height and when combined with bulky proportions of Kardashians it looks not very feminine at all. Well, I personally know some guys who like very high women with everything big, but this is really rare folk.
So from my experience of high elves, to create beautiful high elf you need to make her slender (not max chest, max hips!) with sharp face features, such combos look very good in practice.5 -

The eyes are the hardest to deal with and that's just that. But I have been able to turn the Dunmer eyes on a female to appear more sultry than weird devil possession.0 -
