Actually they should have taken control of their account/s;

Started a live stream;

Stripped there entire account of all achievements and collectibles, mounts, pets, costumes, everything.
Reduced all charcuter accounts to zero
Empitied their inventory of all currency
Empieted their guild banks and mail of any inventory or currency.
Deleted all mats, equipment, consubles, and anything else taking up any space of their account.
Loss of listings in any guild trader.
Make all character attached to account level 0
Remove all skill points, lore book, and any progression in any skill line.
Reset all reseraching and motifs to your base the way you start your game
Suspend each account for three months.
When the suspension ends debuff experience point progress by 1/2 for another three months.

The difference between this exploit (only 34 ppl) and the vRoM/vCoS skin exploit and vMoL skip is that significantly more players took advantage of those. If 20% or more of your playerbase took advantage of an exploit would they get banned? Didn’t think so lol.... but if 0.0001% did something serious like this then ofc they’re gonna get permabanned.

The same thing happened with PvP Keep swapping for massive AP that occurred. Only the very highest AP farmers got temporary bans. ZOS isn’t going to ban the majority of their playerbase no matter how severe the exploit is.

Well they werent "dedicated" enough apparently because they chose to risk their account.

I saw multiple zone chats selling skin saying all you need is snipe... like how more obvious do you wanna be?

Ban them for good we dont need these toxic players trying to get rich off of exploits.

Don’t see why they got banned. This game is the most casual game I’ve played. Who care about scores? 99% of the playerbase doesn’t. If this game was actually competitive and scoring was important then the ban would be understandable but it’s not.

Here is something rather interesting on a similar note. There was a person on PS4-NA who was known to be incredibly elitist and toxic. I’m talking about a true immature scumbag. This person used all types of exploits, and took advantage of every exploit that made its rounds. And even though he was a known cheater, he was often looked up to by others due to his high scores on PvE leaderboards. It wasn’t until the double AP event that this person took their first ban, which was due to exploiting. Even then, he was only banned for 3-7 days, and still got to keep his AP and rank supposedly. Only for weeks/months later for it to come to light that they were apart of the huge Craglorn racism rally. Resulting in his account supposedly being permanently banned. Lol.

Now then, you ready for the twist to all this? A lot of the people who were banned due to that Craglorn event that transpired were: Streamers, “elites and pros”, and amongst the top 1% of ESO players. Ironically enough, the vast majority of them also were known for: Selling trial runs, intentionally sabotaging trial runs of those who invited them to runs but weren’t apart of their guilds, trading Emperor status in Cyrodiil, etc. What are the odds that they’d also be caught up in that as well?

There were some selling the skin in zone chat for 3 million...I'm glad they got the ban hammer...maybe they'll learn something that they can apply to real life...actions do have consequences...

That's what WoT does, they give you the option of your account back with everything stripped on it if you wanted to play again.

But I am posting on behalf of a friend who ran the trial cheesed it because they heard it could be done and weren’t trying to sell runs to people. He was just taking advantage of a situation zos left open. This was his first offense in the game. He has been playing since pc and has virtually maxed out his achievements in the game legit minus the one exploit. He has spent thousands of dollars on this game and dedicated countless hours. And I think that for those that were exploiting other players should be banned but if that player is a first time offender and zos can indeed check chat lists and see that there was no intention of selling runs then that person should receive a temp ban removal of all items and anything associated with the trial. Perms bans should be used for repeat offenders and those who are in general scum to everyon they play with. This player has been a respectable player since day one and this punishment is too harsh and I’m standing up for a friend.

I simply do not get some people’s passive acceptance of cheating. They simply just want to blame the game for everything. Zo$ does a lot of bad things but they did not make the cheaters cheat. The cheaters choose to cheat. I don’t feel sorry for them.

Sorry, no. It wasn't an accident, and it wasn't a small exploit. The best thing about this is the next time there's a big hole in the gameplay, maybe people won't jump right on and ride it. Wouldn't that be amazing.

Your friend is, truly, unique. And yes, I am using "unique" as a pejorative here, in case there was some confusion.

To get this far, legitimately and not think, "wait, something's off about this fight," raises questions.

Questions like: How many of those achievements are actually legitimate? How could you not think it was a little strange when the boss didn't aggro at all? What were you doing in Craglorn on that certain night? And, of course, WHATWEREYOUTHINKING!?

I couldn't answer half of those, but I'm pretty sure it was on PS4 NA only. As for how the community found out, probably the many folk claiming they knew one of the someones that were banned and came here to spread it.

It was someone who was banned, came on here to cry about it. The thread was deep sixed about 40 hours ago, but for a couple hours, there was a lively thread where they were insisting they'd done nothing wrong.

The punishment was arbitrary and vengeful. No customer deserves to be treated like that on a first offense with no warning.

ZOS clearly needs to examine carefully what a customer-business relationship is supposed to look like.

EVEN IF ITS THEIR FIRST OFFENCE. this was an equivalent of going 50+ over the speed limit. on a stretch of the road where they KNOW there is a cop car trap.
