The exploit ban is too harsh.

If ZOS had been properly enforcing their rule about exploitation and dishing out perma-bans before this incident, I would not be against the perma-banning of these vAS exploiters now.

However, that's not the case here. The vMoL skip exploit has been there for quite a while, yet no real repercussions were given to the exploiters there. The vRoM skip exploit, as far as I know, is still here after many patches and updates, and many people have gotten their skins just from that. All this just fosters a mentality in the community to be bold and break those rules in the ToS because they believe that nothing would be done about it, and track records support that mentality.

The ones selling the runs fully deserve the perma-bans, I agree, but I'm not sure about the rest of them. I mean, I feel that a month-long ban should be more than enough for those exploiters, and a clear warning to the community about exploits should be enough to get people to be more serious about this type of cheating.

I have absolutely no qualms about future exploits being bannable offenses, now that it is clear to the community about the repercussions of such offenses.

ZOS is making an example out of them and seems to want to punish exploits more than in the past. Finally.

The difference between this exploit (only 34 ppl) and the vRoM/vCoS skin exploit and vMoL skip is that significantly more players took advantage of those. If 20% or more of your playerbase took advantage of an exploit would they get banned? Didn’t think so lol.... but if 0.0001% did something serious like this then ofc they’re gonna get permabanned.

The same thing happened with PvP Keep swapping for massive AP that occurred. Only the very highest AP farmers got temporary bans. ZOS isn’t going to ban the majority of their playerbase no matter how severe the exploit is.

Well they werent "dedicated" enough apparently because they chose to risk their account.

I saw multiple zone chats selling skin saying all you need is snipe... like how more obvious do you wanna be?

Ban them for good we dont need these toxic players trying to get rich off of exploits.

There were some selling the skin in zone chat for 3 million...I'm glad they got the ban hammer...maybe they'll learn something that they can apply to real life...actions do have consequences...

They deliberately camped outside the boss room, and ground down the boss without taking damage. This could well have taken them over 10 minutes, depending on their damage output.

    They didn't do this accidentally.

They did this intentionally, to get a server first hardmode clear.

After they were banned they came crawling back saying, "no, we weren't going to use it for the bragging rights."

    Right.

    No sympathy here.

Same, atleast ZoS is doing something about that wish they would do the same about botters in game though

    Actually they should have taken control of their account/s;

    Started a live stream;

Stripped there entire account of all achievements and collectibles, mounts, pets, costumes, everything.
Reduced all charcuter accounts to zero
Empitied their inventory of all currency
Empieted their guild banks and mail of any inventory or currency.
Deleted all mats, equipment, consubles, and anything else taking up any space of their account.
Loss of listings in any guild trader.
Make all character attached to account level 0
Remove all skill points, lore book, and any progression in any skill line.
Reset all reseraching and motifs to your base the way you start your game
Suspend each account for three months.
When the suspension ends debuff experience point progress by 1/2 for another three months.

    Or

    Permant ban

That's what WoT does, they give you the option of your account back with everything stripped on it if you wanted to play again.

Don’t see why they got banned. This game is the most casual game I’ve played. Who care about scores? 99% of the playerbase doesn’t. If this game was actually competitive and scoring was important then the ban would be understandable but it’s not.

It’s just part of ZOS’s ongoing war against players ... every time players find a way to get a leg up, ZOS cuts the leg off. If the core story of the game itself didn’t have such a following they would have scared off their last customer long ago.

Again to many posting their opinions this is aimed at first time offenders. And for the smartass who thinks I’m one of the ones banned think again. I don’t do pve I’m strictly pvp. But I am posting on behalf of a friend who ran the trial cheesed it because they heard it could be done and weren’t trying to sell runs to people. He was just taking advantage of a situation zos left open. This was his first offense in the game. He has been playing since pc and has virtually maxed out his achievements in the game legit minus the one exploit. He has spent thousands of dollars on this game and dedicated countless hours. And I think that for those that were exploiting other players should be banned but if that player is a first time offender and zos can indeed check chat lists and see that there was no intention of selling runs then that person should receive a temp ban removal of all items and anything associated with the trial. Perms bans should be used for repeat offenders and those who are in general scum to everyon they play with. This player has been a respectable player since day one and this punishment is too harsh and I’m standing up for a friend.

I don’t even know your friend BUT THIS KIND OF CRAP makes me want to cancel my + sub in solidarity and trash these Aholes and their game on every available forum

    What????

I simply do not get some people’s passive acceptance of cheating. They simply just want to blame the game for everything. Zo$ does a lot of bad things but they did not make the cheaters cheat. The cheaters choose to cheat. I don’t feel sorry for them.

And you are okay with animation cancelling? Yeah sure, it was accepted by ZOS, but to me. it's an exploit. I don't like it, but I got used to it.

All these threads about this popping up. How many players did this and were banned? How many possibly did it but no one knows they did? How did the community find out about this? Are these players on all three servers or specifically PC NA for example?

I couldn't answer half of those, but I'm pretty sure it was on PS4 NA only. As for how the community found out, probably the many folk claiming they knew one of the someones that were banned and came here to spread it.
    Toon list:
    PC NA:
Chip Ahoy: Magicka Templar khajiit WW healer and crafter of metals, clothes, leather and wood
Rose Scale: Magicka Nightblade argonian WW DPS and 'evil' toon (steals stuff from barrels)
Snip Ahoy: Stamina Dragonknight khajiit WW tank
Walks-Through-Corn: Magicka Templar argonian Vampire tank and also cooks food
Snowy Kitten: Magicka Sorcerer khajiit WW healer and also makes glyphs
Valerie Ahoy: Stamina Nightblade khajiit WW DPS/tank
Mixes-With-Mud: Stamina Warden khajiit WW DPS and also mixes potions
    Tyrenan: Magicka Warden khajiit healer
Always-Brings-Light: Magicka Dragonknight argonian WW DPS
Howls-At-Moons: Stamina Warden argonian WW healer
Giggles-At-Everything: Stamina Sorc argonian WW DPS
Hugger-Of-Griffons: Stamina DK argonian WW poison focused DPS and ring/necklace crafter.

Wishlist from ZOS: Chestnut Unicorn mount and the Lilmothiit race, would definitely pay 10K crowns or even 20K crowns for it.

It was someone who was banned, came on here to cry about it. The thread was deep sixed about 40 hours ago, but for a couple hours, there was a lively thread where they were insisting they'd done nothing wrong.

lmao, stop acting like a victim, these people were exploiting and got justly banned

The tos says dont exploit ... that’s like a speed limit sign... everyone goes 5-10 over and if you get caught you get a ticket. They don’t take your car and shoot you on the spot.

Wow ... ZOS actually treats people worse than the government. Suck on that for a minute.

To bad they werent streamers driving more players to the game. They would be allowed to blatantly break the TOS, admit it on their streams and then be invited to the test the next "chapter" before anyone else.

Some of you seem to think there is a universal code or some gauge by which your banned or your not. Im guessing those people havent been here for a while, ZOS has allowed exploits and exploiters for YEARS.

Thats a fact, and most of you know it.

Stop *** footing around, this is on ZOS 100%. You break the TOS you get banned, period.

Not here, not now, not then, not ever.

The punishment was arbitrary and vengeful. No customer deserves to be treated like that on a first offense with no warning.

ZOS clearly needs to examine carefully what a customer-business relationship is supposed to look like.

It appears they have power-mad megalomaniacs in their midst.
