However, that's not the case here. The vMoL skip exploit has been there for quite a while, yet no real repercussions were given to the exploiters there. The vRoM skip exploit, as far as I know, is still here after many patches and updates, and many people have gotten their skins just from that. All this just fosters a mentality in the community to be bold and break those rules in the ToS because they believe that nothing would be done about it, and track records support that mentality.
The ones selling the runs fully deserve the perma-bans, I agree, but I'm not sure about the rest of them. I mean, I feel that a month-long ban should be more than enough for those exploiters, and a clear warning to the community about exploits should be enough to get people to be more serious about this type of cheating.
I have absolutely no qualms about future exploits being bannable offenses, now that it is clear to the community about the repercussions of such offenses.
I can name probably 10 people who exploited the AP event and not only didnt get banned but STILL KEPT THEIR RANK.
However some people exploit a trial and they get perma banned... I don't even...

They didn't do this accidentally.
They did this intentionally, to get a server first hardmode clear.
After they were banned they came crawling back saying, "no, we weren't going to use it for the bragging rights."
Right.
No sympathy here.
Actually they should have taken control of their account/s;
Started a live stream;
Stripped there entire account of all achievements and collectibles, mounts, pets, costumes, everything.
Reduced all charcuter accounts to zero
Empitied their inventory of all currency
Empieted their guild banks and mail of any inventory or currency.
Deleted all mats, equipment, consubles, and anything else taking up any space of their account.
Loss of listings in any guild trader.
Make all character attached to account level 0
Remove all skill points, lore book, and any progression in any skill line.
Reset all reseraching and motifs to your base the way you start your game
Suspend each account for three months.
When the suspension ends debuff experience point progress by 1/2 for another three months.
Or
Permant ban
Don’t see why they got banned. This game is the most casual game I’ve played. Who care about scores? 99% of the playerbase doesn’t. If this game was actually competitive and scoring was important then the ban would be understandable but it’s not.

He was just taking advantage of a situation zos left open. This was his first offense in the game. He has been playing since pc and has virtually maxed out his achievements in the game legit minus the one exploit. He has spent thousands of dollars on this game and dedicated countless hours. And I think that for those that were exploiting other players should be banned but if that player is a first time offender and zos can indeed check chat lists and see that there was no intention of selling runs then that person should receive a temp ban removal of all items and anything associated with the trial. Perms bans should be used for repeat offenders and those who are in general scum to everyon they play with. This player has been a respectable player since day one and this punishment is too harsh and I’m standing up for a friend.

I simply do not get some people’s passive acceptance of cheating. They simply just want to blame the game for everything. Zo$ does a lot of bad things but they did not make the cheaters cheat. The cheaters choose to cheat. I don’t feel sorry for them.

I couldn't answer half of those, but I'm pretty sure it was on PS4 NA only. As for how the community found out, probably the many folk claiming they knew one of the someones that were banned and came here to spread it.

It was someone who was banned, came on here to cry about it. The thread was deep sixed about 40 hours ago, but for a couple hours, there was a lively thread where they were insisting they'd done nothing wrong.

It’s just part of ZOS’s ongoing war against players ... every time players find a way to get a leg up, ZOS cuts the leg off. If the core story of the game itself didn’t have such a following they would have scared off their last customer long ago.

lmao, stop acting like a victim, these people were exploiting and got justly banned

The tos says dont exploit ... that’s like a speed limit sign... everyone goes 5-10 over and if you get caught you get a ticket. They don’t take your car and shoot you on the spot.
Wow ... ZOS actually treats people worse than the government. Suck on that for a minute.
To bad they werent streamers driving more players to the game. They would be allowed to blatantly break the TOS, admit it on their streams and then be invited to the test the next "chapter" before anyone else.
Some of you seem to think there is a universal code or some gauge by which your banned or your not. Im guessing those people havent been here for a while, ZOS has allowed exploits and exploiters for YEARS.
Thats a fact, and most of you know it.
Stop *** footing around, this is on ZOS 100%. You break the TOS you get banned, period.
Not here, not now, not then, not ever.

again, terrible example. its like everyone going 5-10 miles above the limit and the few speshul once going 50 above the limit. the ones going 50? get a ticket. EVEN IF ITS THEIR FIRST OFFENCE. this was an equivalent of going 50+ over the speed limit. on a stretch of the road where they KNOW there is a cop car trap.
