The exploit ban is too harsh.

Meh. Players can return. ZOS bans accounts. I'd need to see proof that the account was active again before I believed someone who has every reason to lie about it.

    Why did this get necro'd?

Because people are abusing the VAS+2 exploit again to get/sell skins. At least on Xbox NA

They deliberately camped outside the boss room, and ground down the boss without taking damage. This could well have taken them over 10 minutes, depending on their damage output.

    They didn't do this accidentally.

They did this intentionally, to get a server first hardmode clear.

After they were banned they came crawling back saying, "no, we weren't going to use it for the bragging rights."

    Right.

    No sympathy here.

Heh... when I wrote this, I didn't have a vAS clear. They stood outside the boss room for something like 30-40 minutes, to cheese that clear, then claimed they didn't know anything was wrong. This is some kind of hilarious to me.

Also it isn't much of a necro posted last year, if it was a true necro it would've been atleast 2 years old

If it was a true necro, I'd be getting yelled at for mechanics that have changed. Like, "no, you can't cheese the boss by standing outside, he yanks you into the arena."

PC as well. As I recall, ZOS gave numbers for this when it happened. It was something like 50 accounts were banned over this, and some others were temporarily suspended.

Because the allegedly permanent bans that were issued when this was started don't seem so permanent (see some posts above, or quoted below), so it's contextually relevant.

As far as I know, ZOS only bans accounts. They don't bother going after individuals. So, if you were part of a progression guild six months ago, abused this and got banned, you lost your account. That doesn't mean you could never come back to the game, but if you did, you'd need to start over. Re-earn your CP, retrain your mounts, regrind your lost gear, rebuild your alts, set up a new crafter, with research. And, of course, anything they had from the crownstore, and morrowind, just went poof. That's a lot of effort, and more than a little cash, to rebuild what they lost.

I've known a few players who've been banned and came back with new accounts. They do exist, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if some of these idiots came back as well. That said, unless ZOS secretly walked back their bans (which I kinda doubt), they were severely punished for their exploits.

    Hello everyone,

This post is to let you know that we've felt it necessary to put this thread down, as it seemed to have died some time ago. At this time we'd like to try and keep Draugr threads from roaming around front page, pushing down newer and more lively threads. Please feel free to continue this discussion on a recent thread under the same subject, or create one if a recent one is not available.

    Thank you for understanding!
