So with the new Domihaus (Monster) set...is that two different sets or is it one set and you get a 50% chance to get magicka or stamina while you are wearing it?

If it is two different sets are the shoulders both going to be in the same chest? Just wanted to check if I should dust off that RNGesus shrine I've got in the corner....

So... what's everyone think of putting all the combat-related things in its own section and calling out balance-specific changes? I agonized for days over how to format it.

I think it was formatted very well.

Is it just me or is 1 piece Slimecraw going to be seriously overpowered? 1 piece crit bonus was 3% before. Now with a 55% increase its around 4.5%. And 1 piece slimecraw is a DOUBLE bonus of this. So it will add 9% crit??? Wow!

It's very helpful formatted this way.

I can nitpick some things that I think are a potential problem but overall this balance pass looks really good, especially for a first run through.

My Shadowrend DK might make a come back. >:)

Do you mean it gives +11% Health, Magicka and Stamina Recovery?

no it is 11 recovery for each gold piece slotted .

ROFL, that's even more pointless than it was before! Omfg, so like 77 health, mag, and stam recovery with 7 pieces? Sweet lord baby jebus, just take the trait totally out of the game. Seriously. It's that horrifically bad. With this in mind, it can't possibly be % based. 77% would be abuse foder for sure. (in my best British accent)This set DOES NOT go to Eleven.....

I think "double 1-piece bonus" means that the 1-piece grants two bonuses: both spell and weapon crit. So you should get a 4.5% spell crit and 4.5% weapon crit bonus, not 9%.

Templates for this first patch will be similar to the final Morrowind PTS templates:
    • Level 50 characters for each alliance which start with many item sets available from the One Tamriel and Morrowind updates, and will start in their initial alliance zone.
    • They will also have the dungeon wayshrines revealed so you can easily travel to them.
    • The new item sets are not yet added to the templates; we want to encourage you to find them and also test utilizing existing item sets.
      • We will be adding all new item sets and monster sets to the templates in the next PTS patch.
    • Creating a high-level templated character no longer floods your inbox with Rewards for the Worthy mails.
    • Fixed an issue with the Medusa weapon bag in the character templates where it gave some incorrect items.

    What's up with that logic?

Overall changes are good. Except for DK nerf and abscence of warden's buff/fix.
My second favourite patch notes so far.

P.S. @ZOS_GinaBruno , please, tell @Wrobel to stop this crusade against DKs. Did he get bullied in childhood by naughty dragonknights or something? This is really getting old. Nerfing a class several years non-stop, considering it has a lot of outdated abilities and relies on mechanics no longer present in game, that is.

YES! We need another nerf to the DragonKnight, time to go for the record number of what the 18th time?
It would be great if you provided something like oh I don't know actually giving the class up to date passives, better skills that aren't completely f'd, and our damn AoE back since you guys in the past cried about it causing server issues but had no damn problem giving sorcerers the same exact thing but with a bigger radius like nice  FoH.

Why do you say its supposed to be 5.5%? Were you able to see on PTS or elsewhere. That wouldn't be as crazy if that is the case but in the notes it definitely says 55% increase right now.

I'm not so sure. It says: "Slimecraw: Changed the 1-piece bonus to a double 1-piece bonus of both Weapon and Spell Critical Strike Chance instead of Health Recovery." Sounds like you get a double 1 piece (so 9%) of BOTH weapon and spell crit. So 9% of each? That is how I read it anyway - a "double bonus" for "both."

I havent been able to write this since the 1.5 Patch, but I must admit I am impressed with the majority of what I see here.

Anyone bemoaning the nerfs to sharpened and defending is only interested in maintaining their best in slot status and not adding legitimate diversity to the game. I still think since this is all quantified, people like @Asayre will eventually figure out what is best, but at least there does appear to be options and the gap is not quite as large.

Selene's did not need I nerf, I play magicka and never used this and do not have a problem with my opponent's using it. Skoria didn't need a nerf either. I wish the "nerf X" crowd would just be quiet and understand that just because something does not suit their preferred playstyle, doesnt mean it needs a nerf.

I must infer from this patch (and the last year's worth of patches) that ZoS is generally satisfied with classes and skilllines since there have been so few changes in these areas. This is the one respect where I do not agree (although I do think the relative balance between the classes is acceptable).

Most of the other notes I feel represent a solid foundation that can be tweaked enough during the PTS process to improve the game.

Concerning the impact of these changes, Yeah, I quite enjoy it being in its own section. Hell, it'll allow further clarity later down the line if sets/traits/skills get tweaked to create more skill diversity or to buff or nerf skills.

Why the constant bombardment of nerfs against the mDK???

Zenimax, the mDK has been the most beaten down class since imperial city, if anything you NEED to seriously retweak this class in so many areas, have you ever actually played a light build?

Seriously, this is getting way out of control, reflective fire scales is bugged, once casted you still do not reflect (sometimes) any projectiles, since you messed with this ability in IC update.

You REALLY need to buff this class or at least rework this class, it is not even competitive in cyrodiil. Go vampire, heavy, mist form and whip, mist and wipe and use ulti...how is this a "pressure" build??

It is bad enough that 90% of the projectiles can not be reflected anymore, seriously buff this class already, its just unacceptable.

    (2) When you deal damage, you have a 15% chance to create either a ring of fire or a ring of molten earth around you for 10 seconds, which deals 1,000 Flame Damage or 1,000 Physical Damage every 1 second. Prosperous was completely re-designed to grant a new combat function and will be an interesting choice for builds seeking to maximize resource recovery gains. Pairing the Divines trait with a recovery Mundus Stone will grant more recovery for that particular stat, but Prosperous will grant more recovery overall.
    • The Prosperous Armor Trait has been re-designed to give it a combat function. It now grants 11 Health, Magicka, and Stamina Recovery as a gold-quality item, instead of gold gain.

@ZOS_GinaBruno I didn't get it. Please clarify me. Extra gold will no longer be the bonus of this trait? Prosperous will be a regeneration trait now? Or will it be a trait that will give gold and stats regeneration?

Before I comment on the other changes I should mention that without fixing your heavy attack damage / resource scaling none of it matters. Heavy / Light attacks underlay all combat and as long as they do this I will have no interest in really playing / resubscribing / buying your chapters. I have hope you might get a clue in 6 months or so when your weekly leaderboards and trials are still half empty but I don't intend to spend anything or do more than list in a guild store and do crafting writs until then. The bottom line is you made a mess of the underlying resource return / damage output combat mechanic and that is why many people are mostly uninterested in endgame content.

As for the specific changes in this update they look generally good. My exact thoughts are:

    1) Mundus stone / trait magnitude / set magnitude

All these changes are basically the same idea. That idea is more or less to make the balance of the buffs gained both more equal in magnitude and, more importantly, basically interchangeable so that it will not matter where you get your penetration, crit, or max stats. You will no longer have to get penetration from weapon trait, crit from mundus stone, and damage / pool from set bonuses as you emphatically had to before. You could mix and match without difficulty. This is generally good I think. It will make it easier for new less connected players to be functional and will make farming a less horrible process. At first blush, the numbers look like they might actually be balanced as well though I am not sure if it has been done for fairness in PVP (this would make precise the most powerful in PVE) or for PVE (precise would have no value in PVP). In any case, Knowing ZOS capriciousness I kept at least one of all traits on my vMA weapons so I am not really screwed should I decide to play competitively again (not going to happen unless you scale heavies in a rational way). Anyhow, these changes look generally good though it is important that sharpened be at least as good as the next best trait for weapons and divines for armor given the work people put into farming. It is absolutely vital peoples soup not be *** in this way. Making sharpened more in line with other things is OK, in fact ideal, making it not as good as something else would be unfair and a real *** move. At first blush it looks right to me but pay careful attention to how the try-hards numbers look on pts to be sure. You can't afford to mess this up.

    2) Proc set changes

This really should not have taken 8 months given the mess I understand was made in PVP by these sets.

    3) Combat UI changes

These sound really good. Discerning whether you are standing in red on not has been an issue ZOS has been improving on. These sound like good improvements.

In summary, the changes look really good but they are lipstick on the proverbial pig and I'm not kissing it until you address the actual pig problem.
