I wonder how many favors it cost to get those DC Vivec guilds to Guest over to bail out DC.

Ironically LoM needn't have bothered, the DR raids was over before their help arrived.

Holding up 50 DC at Aleswell who find it more important to stealth bomb a 10 man group than defend their keeps is priceless. Kept them busy for like 20 minutes, so they lost Ash.

Yeah was a 24 man ball group with 20-30 pugs with them. Rest of DC was trying to defend Ash. Went down there to check it out and AD had 3 different breaches on it lol.

Well, that's the end of the campaign for me. 10 hours left and I need to sleep.

Thank you, DC. Thank you for not allowing AD and EP a single moment of joy at the end of the campaign. It's 3:00AM (EST), and you're night capping again. You've got emperor and all the scrolls, but you're pushing Arrius/home keeps.

If you were decent people (Not targeted towards the certain guilds that backed off) you could have played something else for a single day and let people enjoy what was the remainder of an overall *** campaign.

But congratulations on the victory you never would have had, if you had played fairly.

I do want to thank those members of DC who tried to discourage the night capping and provide a fun environment. You're great people and I hope to see you next campaign. :)

    sorry to hear that @Avalinia

For me, the "campaign" ceased right after US holiday Memorial Day. Prior to that I had spoken with several DC raid leaders to form a "gentlemen's agreement" of sorts (which was documented earlier in this thread) and it became clear to me (observing banter in other discords) that this agreement was not going to be followed despite what I was told.

And what I could do in my power, was inform my guild, Requiem, of the situation and discourage that behavior. I can't speak for any other DC groups. We withdrew off the inner keeps and definitely off enemy faction home keeps to the point that IC and BGs were the only places we ended up pvping.

I blame myself a little here. Instead of being more active, I chose the opposite route of isolationism and maybe had I been more active, I could have influenced what was happening a little better.

But i'm not dumb enough to not consider that I might just be fooling myself. Who am I, right?

Ultimately, I want to reinforce that campaign dynamics change all the time. Azuras was not like this, it was very fun, and respectful in the last 4 months of its life span. Sotha still has the potential for the same. Guilds move around all the time. I plan on homing Requiem on Sotha Sil once again, and I hope AD and EP veterans do as well.

    For the DC reading this:
    • I truly hope you take into consideration the opinions and concerns of the opposite factions in this thread. Sotha is a 30 day campaign. Thats a full month. When you home here, you commit to a community. your actions directly influence others just like you sitting on the other side of the screen. A little good sportsmanship goes a LONG way. What kind of community do you want to foster? An animosity driven cesspool of constant gate pushes? Or a place where large, and medium scale fights can happen and despite the outcome, you get a whisper from the enemy saying "holy crap that was an awesome fight!" ??? If this was a real war, i'd say no mercy, burn em all. but this is a video game and we all rely on each other to log in frequently to perpetuate a healthy pvp environment. Heed my words and please, just try it. Respect. Sotha Sil pt2.

Hope to see you all next campaign cycle.

Exactly. There's only so much you can do. If they never had any intention of honoring the agreement in the first place, there's nothing you could have said or done to change that.

You could look at it that way.

or you could look at it this way:

That medium sized DC group went to Vlast to promote/encourage medium scale pvp away from home keeps and inner ring zergs. What they found was you.

I'm not sure that's a guild group. DC was mostly zerging this morning so I would say it's currently not a guild (or a guild's leadership) to blame so much as a mob mentality issue made worse by DC emp.

But as it stands, this morning indicates that this campaign is just going to be a continuation of the last one, and that's disheartening.

The reason the map sucks so bad is because the dc pleb emp knows if he doesn't camp home keeps he will get dethroned first thing in the morning, so sad knowing the only reason you are emp for more than a couple hours is because you Zerg the whole map at night and discourage any people from playing in the mornings

It's the same as every morning zerg. There's no guild groups really, but 2 bar DC is sitting around for hours on end with 0 objectives to take. So inevitably the faction either starts reopening the gates, or over commits to every siege and discourages any play from other factions.

There has actually been some solid EP morning groups, but anything other than resources and the occasional outpost takes too long before the DC zerg arrives. I've had occasions where we can barely body flip resources before the zerg hits.

I imagine the same holds true for AD as well, I watch the map show 5-6~ failed Faregyl sieges every morning.

Sotha was yellow prior to 10PM est. You guys know I'm an opponent of gate camping but last night was so zergy from all sides that the server literally crashed briefly.

my 5 man tried taking Brindle and we were instantly jumped by 9+ AD.

Northern cyro was even worse, the EP emp-assisted push on Aleswell was a slide show of 450+ping and 10fps.

like, I know right now DC is easy to demonize due to the reputation they earned, but at least try to be honest, Sotha Sil is Trueflame 2.0

I cant even imagine what Vivec is like. . .

Yeah Pug had emp from mid afternoon till like 2-3 A.M, AD had...a good time rolling up the west side of the map...also lol to the idea that DC did not have the huge potato zerg last night. 30 plus following their crown around BRK lumber for 15 minutes...

Oh, no one is saying DC didnt have a zerg. I havent seen that many DC in a long time.

I'm saying everyone was like that. Like there were zergs on all three factions. and its like every man for himself now. its kinda sad
