The experience wasnt particularly enjoyable, but i did find some fun fights here and there. unfortunately, there was the aforementioned EP emp zerg group, and they were a zerg (remember: its anything over 24) vs quite in fact possibly 9 DC on the entire server. Im not exaggerating. I tried to rally every single person on the server and i got 9 at the peek of the group.

Why does a faction feel as though they need to run that many deep against such little opposition?

Furthermore, it shows that despite the issues on Sotha Sil, no faction is above this. You all do it.

We planned a croll cap, got it out of the keep and then our4 were met with the preliminary 4 man EMP group, which then turned into a tidal wave of EP against our 4 man. 4 of us. Emp came in guns blazing with a destro ult. lulz.

So idk. As a faction, EP has a large guild that could benefit Sotha EP greatly, simply content with blanketing another server instead of homing over to help.

EP on Alma have literally no bearing on Sotha. The issue is that DC continues (for months) to have poor sportsmanship in the Azura/Sotha campaign.

Quite frankly, if you want to balance it out then swap factions. There is no shame in doing so. You might even find that some of the people you dislike are actually quite fun to play with. Leaving a campaign that is getting strangled by your faction isn't going to revitalize it at all. If anything, it will only make the issue worse.

I have been Daggerfall Covenant since day 0. I bleed Daggerfall blue and I will never create a character on another faction. Through thick and thin, through the good and the bad, I am Daggerfall.

DC is strangling Sotha. Leaving it is not making anything worse. There are other Lords of Daggerfall who command larger armies than Requiem. My influence is minimal and they will wage war as they see fit. As a sworn DC player, my only option is to not partake.

To suggest I join the enemy is dishonorable and offensive. The whole of Daggerfall is not represented by the Sotha Sil campaign. There are other battlefronts and the War is vast and consuming. While I have stood by and spared countless Dominion and Ebonheart lives, DC blood spills and the lamentation cry out on distant battlefields.

If you dont like the Lions that loom over you, do not be lambs.

Spoon can't remember the name of the EP gate-camping Emp she got her first emp-slayer achievement on.

Same. I wish I did. That fight is a good memory.
Also Spoon will grant an Insightful to the first person who can remember the name of the DC Zerglord who hates Sora. It's driving her crazy.

Everyone but Emily hates that guy. I've fought beside him in PVP when he was DC, and even did some PVE with him for a bit by chance, and while he's pretty skilled as a player, the guy seems to have no social skills. I'm trying to put it mildly.

You're right, Sotha DC does not represent the entirety of the faction. You'll have to excuse me if the 5 destro ball raids they stacked in Ash after the comical RP emp (who is, i believe, cosplaying as a confused Dragonknight who does no damage) was farmed with his two raids of "Lions" at the farm of said keep by a half DR raid makes the other factions think that their may be a disproportionate amount of Covenant players there.

Also, nice false equivalency about Alma, as thst emp group of less than a raids worth of players makes up the population balance of zero bar EP against zero bar AD and the zero bar whatever remnants of the 40 minute emperors guild? Not quite the same thing don't you think?

I counted 19 EP with <Dreadlords> guild tags sieging Aleswell at one point last night. Thats not counting any out of my view distance or sitting stealthed.

so regardless of what you say the "Emp group's" size was, I know what I saw and I know what i experienced as they piled on top of my 4 man group when we got a scroll.

idk how many AD were out there, but there were some, they went after their scroll at Arrius.

I am trying to say, that what you guys are complaining about with DC on sotha, the same is happening on Alma with EP. thats all. I am stating a factual observation.

So its whatever. you have the numbers, they just dont want to play on your server. so of course one faction will rise up as the more dominant.

Ive tried every possible thing i can think of to try and get a healthy campaign going. I put myself on the line because I believed in a fair campaign. When it became evident that thats not possible on Sotha, went somewhere else instead of compounding the problem on Sotha. What I found was a similar abomination. Idk why that makes you upset. Is it because it seems like im implying that ya'll deserve whats happening on Sotha? When ive stated repeatedly I want no part in that shenanigans?

All im saying is when you look at Sotha, just remember your faction is doing it somewhere else.

Doesn't matter. That campaign has no bearing on this one. Take complaints about alma to the alma thread.

I do know that Dreadlords does run a large group in Alma but I don't know if anyone monitors the forums or not, so I don't know if they are aware of the situation or not. If you feel you need to talk to someone perhaps someone can jump cross faction and open a dialog. I am aware also that ALL factions at some point in time do what DC are doing on Sotha Sil, I myself have not knowingly participated in such actions. When I have logged in & seen the map completely Red I have spoken out in zone about it and have attempted to persuade others as well. Maps of 1 color are no fun for anyone, when accompanied by a zerg (greater than 24 man group). Doing so continuously can kill a server which is also no fun.

-Reminds Spoon so much of last spring, when DC vet guilds gate-camped the entire campaign in non-vet BWB. Nominally, their "excuse" was that someone didn't like Sora who had switched to AD. Spoon watched Sora go from social pariah to the patron saint of new players, as he patiently closed the gates day after day. Do you know what Spoon cannot remember? The name of the DC Zerglord on the other side.

    Hi.

I led most of the groups in the spring in Blackwater Blade and I never encouraged them to gate-camp or camp the trikeeps. There were really only two guilds active in DC at the time, and that was (and still is) 13 and PUGz. I am not aware of any vet guild who were actively trying to camp you, the only one that comes to mind is LoDG and those guys got shunned out of DC so fast they went to EP. PUGz usually logged off around midnight, and 13 would start to pick up after that time since it formed around people who already were playing at night time for the most part. Every single time we'd get emp at night and the scrolls, we'd just log off or do other stuff until action picked up again. We also actively discouraged in zone chat people who wanted to go camp the gates or anything like that. I'm sure some DCs did gate-camp, but it certainly wasn't a collective, organized effort like what I'm seeing in Sotha Sil. And we certainly never were in a position where we had 2 extra bars of population. If we were on a winning roll, it would end up being like 20 of us against 10-12 enemies on the 4th emp keep, then 8 by the next one and so forth as they'd get discouraged.

Want to know who was gate-camping/ressource- flipping for easy AP to reach the top of the leadeboards while the rest of us would log off? The guy you welcomed as the savior against the evil gate-camping DC. It was kind of funny to see him camp our trikeeps as emp in AD to 'teach us a lesson' when he was the biggest offender.

Also, branding anyone has a DC zerglord is hilarious when I just saw you take Glade in Kyne just for the points on Sunday with like 40-50 ADs when it was completely undefended.

Really just needs some of the oceanic EP pop to come from Amalexia or Vivec to stop Scrublord from capping emp. If I didn't have to work for a living, I would get emp and then stay up and keep him from nightcapping. Some of my best fun in this game was when I was an emperor and kililng entire raids that tried to nightcap until eventually stopped trying. DC would never be able to emp during prime time, so if you prevent them from crowning in the morning, then Scrublord would never have emp again.

I'm oceanic EP on NA Sotha Sil and I'm quitting to Vivec. Being the only person on the battlements of Arrius when 16 DC ram the gate down at 7PM Australian time all smug-like has killed what little enjoyment I still got from Cyrodiil "PVP". I hope they choke to death on their AP and end up stuck in an eternal loading screen.

Sorry, Azura's Star, I was with you since the VR days, but I'm done with your inferior replacement.

Ah yes, the noble AD, particularly the shitter sorc squad that resource capped Arrius, and then harrassed EP all the way to chal. If I didnt know better, id say these heros (referenced in a long winded post earlier today) were in Daniels pocket...

i like how you said that i had a sorc squad...

i don't think you should call them a "shitter" sorc squad when they are all equally good at this game than more than half the populace that plays it..

Maybe you guys shouldn't focus on the tank of the group as a whole, its not doing any good if you want to wipe us.
especially noting the fact that I face tank zergs for a living.

but I appreciate the nobility title.

I think it depends on your group size. I know that if I had 3-5 people in my group and i went to a dominated map where there was a 20 man response team that shows up at the sight of a resource flip, I'd probably poke the other non-dominant faction.

This was life on Haderus about 9 months ago. I'd log in every day pushed to the gates. we'd start at 6:45PM and take back our home keeps one by one and usually get stopped at bleakers/ash/dragonclaw.

It sucks. and its a dirty job, but someone has to do it.

Protip: A lot of times all it takes is a simple shout in zone chat saying: "Im sieging on LM side at X-Keep" and people will show up. trust me.

Protip: if you were actually good at this game you wouldn't need to shout in zone chat for reinforcements. but that is none of my concern. :/

I see the point went over your prepubescent mind.

We were talking about a dead server and in the context of getting a group together to take back gate keeps, i mentioned hollering out into zone.

at what point do i need to "get good" to set down 4 ballista and siege a wall? Considering what I was talking about and how you came in hot for whatever reason, I say good day to you, sir.

I mean, there's not really a whole lot of choice either. Almelexia is a low pop campaign with what sounds like one guild that is already too large and active for Almalexia's low pop to support a healthy campaign. So it sounds like the options for active and fun PvP are currently either Vivec or Kyne.

There really isn't another choice for EP and has been that way for sometime and why I have been so adamant about this whole situation. Tonight now that dethrone has happened I must say made my pvp day, even though I realize that DC will probably re-emp him by "night capping" after everyone logs off and the map goes back to low population for the other 2 factions.

Sorry, but Spoon didn't partake in the siege of Glade on Sunday. She was in a cave north of Brindle getting an AP bonus.

Spoon was in Kyne with a Miscreants group farming coldfire when another guild group took Glade. She zoned into Glade to check guild tags and spoke with the group there. They were unresponsive and their guild leaders were offline. So Miscreants went to Sotha Sil. Beyond defending home keep resources and Vlas, we never sieged on Sunday in Kyne.

The players at Glade were new members of a Vivec guild Ruin, whose leadership has agreed to take steps to prevent future instances. At any rate, they happen to be Morrowwind expansion players and should be with the main guild soon. Please feel free to inform Spoon if that group is peeling gates open again, and she will try to intervene.

Ps. Spoon remembers now, we killed you at Glade lumber after the flip. Easy to see how you got confused.

Whoops your argument has now fallen apart, not only is EP not doing it somewhere else the map is actually much less one-sided then you would expect for a faction that has held emp for 1+ days. The scrolls on Alma haven't even been touched ffs.

But please continue your fanfiction where you try to stroke yourself over how oppressive it was to fight 19 (!!!!1111!11!!!!) EP that one time. The fact you're complaining and yet still probably had your scrolls and keeps to defend while fight those 19, proves just how out of touch you are with Sotha Sil.

Relax @Malibulove and just take a breath. I took my guild back onto Alma last night and was going to report that it was indeed much less one sided.

Idk why Dreadlords were zerging the map against so little opposition on Monday night but they were. I wouldnt lie about that. Why would I lie about that? I've got nothing to hide about anything to anyone in this thread. kids these days. . . when I grew up, calling someone a liar was one of the most offensive things you could say. Please dont toss that around at least to me. I'll start documenting with screen shots from now on out of courtesy to you and those I am accusing.

In regards to my experience on Alma last night:
Almalexia was pretty fun last night. Dreadlords werent present. It was just the Emp group of around 10. Alma really reminded me of the Haderus days of old. I had 5 then over time, picked up 3 more from zone chat and had a solid 8 man crew for about 2 and a half hours. We were able to choose objectives, and experience participation in said objective to a degree in which we had fun. We grabbed our scroll from Farragut and fought equal numbers from opposing factions all the way to Chalman in which pursuit ceased. Probably due to AD pushing hard from the south.

The old "poke the bear" tactics were effective and win or lose, we found some really good fights.

Again, I cant explain nor provide evidence of what I experienced on Monday night. I only have my word. I will be better next time I make that kind of accusation and for that, I apologize.

When I logged on last night, Sotha was really blue, hence why we voted to come to Alma again. Vivec was pop locked across the board so didnt really see that as an option. When we logged, i checked sotha and it was thoroughly yellow. I felt a little guilty because had we went there instead, Requiem could have at least participated in defense. My schedule is a bit on the unavailable side due to a long American Holiday weekend, but I will continue to try and monitor (with the help of this thread) the situation and feed that information back to the guild.

Grats on the AD emp last night.

Alma's just weird. It suffers from all of the problems Haderus did (emp flipping/farming), but has an even lower baseline population, so ANY guild can essentially zerg it down at will, since bringing a 12man group in there is a huge impact at any time.

Haderus used to catch spillover from Trueflame, people waiting in queue, etc, so you always had a few dozen people on each faction in the afternoons/evenings/nights. Without that, Alma is going to be more like Haderus in the morning, but all the time--10ish people on each faction, any guild who cares to push map in there flipping it pretty quickly.

Yeah I agree. Idk what to think of everything now. I feel like, as DC, if I associate with Sotha Sil, idk it just gives me a dirty feeling. I dont actually have a problem with anyone on DC. I have a soft spot for DK Daniel too. Its just too one sided on the server for me to really support right now. Again, the last 4 months I was on Azura's was completely opposite. Some of the best pvp I had ever experienced with a genuinely likable and supportive faction.

Just give it time. Everything is cyclical.

Just another morning in Sotha, an army of DC siege/Xv1 heroes ruthlessly defending AD gate keeps against the only 4 AD players online:

Prop tip: if your guild was any good, they would still be relevant without [snip]
