Christ you console people never stop whining. This is an exhausting treadmill. M$ and $ony REQUIRE REVIEW AND APPROVAL PROCESS OF ALL PATCHES THAT TAKES 1-3 WEEKS. They can't give you early access because of this. If you've a problem with that go complain to M$ and $ony already.

For once a PC game is focusing on PC first. Why should we have to wait another week because of something unrelated to PC entirely. So tired of patches and releases in other games being pushed due to consoles. We don't even play together so why do you even care. What about the tons of console exclusive games that never make it to PC or do after like 4 years of being on console? We've a lot more to complain about than you in regards to equality...

Staph already. FFXIV and DCUO seem to have their cross platform patch delivery in place and ZoS ain't no mom and pop operation. Warframe gets its patches just as timely, too, I think. And you can bet Destiny 2 ain't going to make the console masses wait, either. ZoS have gobs of cash and could (and seemingly were going to) deliver day and date with PC.

    Lies.

If we sent the console update for certification early, then it wouldn't include most of the fixes and tweaks we add in the later PTS patches which is less than ideal.

    More lies.

lol, wrong. A patch has to first be completed (as in final changes) which the final patch will land May 22 then submitted for approval. Next it has to go through technical certification to ensure it won't brick the console after being approved. It then of course takes time for them to distribute the patch to the various console servers to be delivered to consoles. So for a patch to release May 22 it has to be submitted roughly 1 week in advance. 3.0 won't be done 1 week before May 22 as it'd be 1 patch behind. In short to do an early access they'd have to push launch to June 13th with early access starting June 6th, which is just stupid for the sake of satisfying console whiners.

Every other multi platform game manages somehow, magically, to do all of this well in advance, to enable a multi platform release at the same time.
ZOS just uses this bs as an excuse time and time again. If they wanted to do it, they would.
    But hey, carry on believing.

The only thing other companies are doing is delaying the PC version of the game.

Can you link to a developer saying this? Actually something quotable and recent (as in, this gen of consoles). This gets parroted a lot and it's pretty baseless.

Everyone should not be debating over the Sony and MS thing... It's a smokescreen... wake up..

The real question is WHY the change of heart on release dates? That's what we all want to know.

Why since january has it been June 6th for ALL platforms?

Why today, was it announced that they want to do something 'special'?

I think everyone fully understands that there can be delays between console and pc releases of games and we are letting ZOS and @ZOS_GinaBruno off the hook by arguing with each other when we should be demanding to know WHY this decision was made to go early. To be clear, that's what this is.

Clearly, in the posts made, a decision was made to green light PC earlier than anticipated. We just want to know the WHY??

I get that for sure... But you would think that just the name Morrowind would be more than enough, wouldn't you? This 'chapter' has been under fire from a lot of the community since it hit the test servers... To me, it's nothing short of a PR stunt to try and stop the bleeding...

Early access to console subs... make it so! :)
It’s something we’d like to do, but due to the time needed for certification of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One ESO: Morrowind clients, we are not able to offer early access for our console players.

As a console player, I am disappointed in regards to the news that the PC community will have the opportunity to play Morrowind two weeks early.

Frankly, I do want to hear the PR response given. You should quit saying that “your hands on tied on the matter” No they are not. You did not HAVE to release the game two weeks early. You chose to do so. You knew of these rules set forth from Microsoft/Sony and still chose to award PC players access to the expansion/chapter/whatever and you chose to leave console players out in the cold.

Is this the end of the world? No, it is not. I am not going to quit. I am not going to cancel my sub, my pre-order, or hold a funeral for my fictional character. However, I am not off base by saying that since day one the company has treated the console game like a second class citizen. You released the game an entire YEAR on PC before releasing it on console. You have waited more than a year to implement simple add on tools such as damage meters and almost two years to release buff trackers. Every single DLC that is released is given to PC players two weeks before console and now you are giving PC players the game two weeks early.

Console players make up 2/3s of the player community from the last numbers given by the dataminers. I don’t blame PC players for taking advantage of the preferential treatment. I just can’t figure out why a game that loves to tout about being ‘the best MMO on console’ seemingly treats them like annoying step children.

Player funeral would be funny tho ...that would require me to install the game again tho

They usually act like annoying step children for one.

Additionally ESO on console wasn't announced until over a year after PC announcement, most likely caused the first PC release delay and most definitely caused the year long content drought on pc while the studio was full steam on making the game work on console for you.

Actually it was announced prior to pc release as stores had taken pre orders as I was on PC. Closed beta but had my eso Xbox pre order but later learned it was delayed just before PC early release was announced so I purchased the pc early release digital. Then later they announced pc could transfer and the console release date took another 10 months but it was announced so your comment is very inaccurate.

This of all the issues to me is a non issues and it certainly shows us who is a part of the entitled crew.

Oh boy... another person who doesn't understand the definition of 'entitled'... When a person pays for something, they ARE entitled to it. When someone doesn't, they are NOT entitled to it. I paid for the exact same package as a PC player did, and a month afterwards, ZOS adds value to the PC package. No matter what metaphor or other situation you put that in, it is morally, ethically, wrong, and even against the law. Those practices were put in our law books to prevent preferential treatment unless under very specific circumstances. Those circumstances do not apply here. We all paid for the same package, if they choose to add value to any specific package, then they MUST add that same value to ALL packages. Like I said, it applies to every possible scenario... at the most simple, imagine someone at a market, they buy a pound of apples for $2. As they are walking away, someone else buys a pound of apples for $2, but the guy gives them a pound of sugar with them, FREE! Why didn't the first get the same deal? No reason. The vendor tells them, because they have blonde hair, the other had brown. We have laws to prevent that sort of behavior, and ZOS has a responsibility to follow those laws. I would much prefer that they just do the right thing, because they are good people, etc... but, if not, then that is why we have those laws, because we cannot expect businesses to always be ethical, so we have to FORCE them to do what is right and fair as best as we can.
If you want to get all mad at some one get mad at MS/Sony its there fault not ZOS

Guess you need to research more then, it isn't MS or Sony that is at fault. Both allow patches the next day, and almost, if not completely, free of charge. Sony always operated this way, and that is why Sony has a ton of independent developer support and games. MS had a huge hassle on 360, which pushed them to Sony. They saw that, and changed it so that when the Xbox One came out, the policy was almost identical to Sony's. There are no more huge hoops to jump through, as soon as they have the patch ready for Xbox and PS, it would be in the next day if they wanted it to be. The problem is, it has to be coded correctly for each system, sent to MS/Sony to approve, etc. They do not have to do THAT on PC. But, the difference is a matter of 24 hours assuming they had people coding the expansion for all 3 at the same time.

They do not. That is ZOS' fault, not MS, not Sony. It isn't as if ZOS isn't making money hand over fist from the crown store, so, they CAN hire people to do everything they need to in order to be fair to all platforms, they choose not to, because that would cost money. That is about the only reason I can think of, as to why they consistently do this, when NO other games do it.

Just as an example, notice that Mass Effect Andromeda's patches are hitting all platforms at the same time? Or, even better... notice that the Morrowind prologue thing was on console within 24 hours of it being on PC? Amazing how that can happen when they want it to... and, no, size means nothing. If properly planned out, the same could be done on Morrowind. Consoles could have it the same day, or within 24 hours.

As someone who actually has shipped products on XBox and Playstation, there is no next day patch with either Microsoft or Sony. Certification takes days to weeks depending how busy the cert team is.

The only way to get PC release to match console is to hold back the PC release.

I can patch a game on Steam in 5 minutes. For Console you need an appointment, submission and wait days for a response.

Where was this form? I ordered from Amazon. Was there a form on there? I was never prompted for such a think if I remember correctly...I wants my Early Access :)
The form mentioned in that post is in the website article toward the bottom - it's on our help page.

I guess @ZOS_GinaBruno that you should potentially just let the release be 6th June then (as originally stated). Or as always just release the details with the usual pre PC release. I don't really care about this stuff but so many people do and it is deceptive.

Early access to console subs... make it so! :)
It’s something we’d like to do, but due to the time needed for certification of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One ESO: Morrowind clients, we are not able to offer early access for our console players.

Just to clarify: All PC players will be getting the base game patch on 5/22. Only those who purchased the Morrowind Digital Upgrade (or Physical CE with the form filled out) will have access to Morrowind on 5/22.

Where was this form? I ordered from Amazon. Was there a form on there? I was never prompted for such a think if I remember correctly...I wants my Early Access :)
The form mentioned in that post is in the website article toward the bottom - it's on our help page.

@ZOS_GinaBruno Thank you for that wonderful info. T minus 12 days and counting.

As you need an verification process you has to wait until its done.
Its no issue to simply delay the pc release, however it serves no purpose outside of making the console users feel better.
but that they have to wait 14 extra days for fixes on bugs who show up in the open beta / pc release :)

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Because early access helps generate buzz and sales?

I get that for sure... But you would think that just the name Morrowind would be more than enough, wouldn't you? This 'chapter' has been under fire from a lot of the community since it hit the test servers... To me, it's nothing short of a PR stunt to try and stop the bleeding...
Well it depend on how the players react,
If they expect the average player to react strongly they would not want to push it early on pc.
If they think it generate hype they would like an early pc release.
Note that its probably not the development team but marketing who have the final say here.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

They usually act like annoying step children for one.

Additionally ESO on console wasn't announced until over a year after PC announcement, most likely caused the first PC release delay and most definitely caused the year long content drought on pc while the studio was full steam on making the game work on console for you.

    @Sigtric

PC/Mac was announced in press release may 2012 and Console was not announced until E3 in June 2013 a year later. Console had already been announced prior to any one being able to preorder.

    @Sigtric
Actually it was announced when consoles were confirmed to exist which was around the same time and not a year later.

    @Sigtric
Seems I have added an announcement that didn't occur when during an early interview they described how PC and console were being developed simulataneously before release. Now I see no announcement was made until PS4 leaked and announced games.

Don't know, but maybe it's to stop people from rage-quitting over the new changes. Maybe they think that when people are able to play the game, we'll see the changes aren't as bad as we think they are.

Not true. We will get the same patch, but two weeks later as that's how it takes consoles to certify them. Plus, our bugs take longer to be fixed due to the same process.

And when will console players get access? We paid just as much as the PC people did.

Okay, console peeps (and I have ESO on PC, Xbone and PS4, so that includes me!): PC players are getting it early because, much like when the game launched originally on PC and we paid to be the beta testers for the console versions, Zenimax wants to make sure the final version is fine before it launches on Xbone and PS4. :p

Should be, its part of the base game for Update 14 and not really a part of Morrowind.

LOL. I'm just trying to figure out what ZOS might be thinking, since I've been worried as heck these changes are going to DESTROY my favorite character. I'm afraid she'll be unplayable until I can fix her again, after the Nerf Patch of Doom guts her and stomps all over her innards. I was just trying to come up with a plausible explanation. I HOPE I'm right. It doesn't mean I AM right. :p
