So I found the website, logged in on the support-site, selected "early acces morrowind" and now the *** begins. I have to print the freaking pre-order invoice, write my screen-name on it, scan it and then attach it to the request. Like I have a printer and scanner standing here. I give it to you ZoS. I can understand all the changes, the messing up with ESO+, but this is a step to far! You got lucky that I want that freaking Dwemer Statue on my desk, otherwise I would tell you where to shove that early acces of yours!

LoL I was laughing as I went the process. At least they didn't ask us to churn butter for them while we were at it.

I don't think you have to print it out though. I just took a screen shot of the receipt/order and used picture editor to put my eso user name on it.

Just to clarify: All PC players will be getting the base game patch on 5/22. Only those who purchased the Morrowind Digital Upgrade (or Physical CE with the form filled out) will have access to Morrowind on 5/22.

I'm sure you already know how awesome early access would be for console players, too? If not for Morrowind, can you pester the team for this on our behalf in the future? Please and thank you :)

Just to clarify further. This means that all PC/MAC players who bought Morrowind from this website will be able to play Morrowind 22/5? Even the people that didn't buy the special edition or collectors edition?

Just to clarify further. Even if you DID NOT preorder Morrowind, you get the base game changes to the classes on May 22, 2017.

Soo.. PC people can continue the Beta test of Update 14 on live. We started it when they uploaded part of the PTS database on Monday. I have a sneaking suspicion that that "Oops" is a ticking timebomb that will go off a week from Monday.

Christ you console people never stop whining. This is an exhausting treadmill. M$ and $ony REQUIRE REVIEW AND APPROVAL PROCESS OF ALL PATCHES THAT TAKES 1-3 WEEKS. They can't give you early access because of this. If you've a problem with that go complain to M$ and $ony already.

For once a PC game is focusing on PC first. Why should we have to wait another week because of something unrelated to PC entirely. So tired of patches and releases in other games being pushed due to consoles. We don't even play together so why do you even care. What about the tons of console exclusive games that never make it to PC or do after like 4 years of being on console? We've a lot more to complain about than you in regards to equality...

I'm not missing the point. I understand what is being said, I just think it is petty and incorrect. It's a pretty well known fact among ESO players in general that console has to wait for certification before they are allowed to push updates to it. They've never hidden this.

The article about early access also clearly states this at the bottom:
Due to the time needed for certification of the PlayStation and Xbox One ESO: Morrowind clients, we are not able to offer early access for our console players. We look forward to seeing you on June 6!

For all we know, June 6th might have been the earliest they could get certification on console for the patch. We don't know that early access was ever even planned, it could have been a recent decision. Seems to me stating early access upfront would have been a really good selling point to get more preorders.

It's only a slap in the face based on your own conjecture.

Apparently, you still do not understand, despite saying you do. They never NEED to tell us anything about certifications, that is, if they thought as much about console players as they did PC players. By adding that at the bottom, they are making excuses for not having thought ahead, and YOU are buying into it. Too many other games do JUST fine coordinating all of the stuff between platforms, no reason that ZOS cannot do the same. It only becomes unfair to PC when they are told the hidden things.

Imagine, if the PC players were blatantly told by ZOS, "Early Access for Pre-Orders on June 6th!! PC guys, you could have had it 2 weeks before, but, certifications on console pushed that back, sorry guys, be mad at the console players, not us!"

To understand the issue, just reverse the positions. PC players would be LIVID! But... only because ZOS felt the need to point out that behind the scenes info and be complete ****s. Instead, they could keep all of that quiet, and simply think ahead, coordinate everything on their end, and have simultaneous releases and early access. Sorry ZOS, but you decided to be big dogs and play in the big dog leagues, that means you now have bigger responsibilities, and that includes being fair to ALL PLAYERS.

If you've read the ptr forums you should be glad that consoles don't get early access.
With the way things are developing the early access is just a renamed public test for which players are paying for.
You have to be crazy to opt for early access for this "expansion".

As for why would anyone want to be in on this, because of all of the bugs and glitches and how it is just a paid beta, etc? Yeah, this game hasn't ever been not-glitchy, and people don't care. Look at how much PC players are hyped for the early access, they know the state of the release, they have been playing the PTS for it, and are still excited... so, don't try and sell that.

It’s something we’d like to do, but due to the time needed for certification of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One ESO: Morrowind clients, we are not able to offer early access for our console players.

    Lies.

If we sent the console update for certification early, then it wouldn't include most of the fixes and tweaks we add in the later PTS patches which is less than ideal.

    More lies.

So is this being coordinated with Amazon and Steam? As of now, neither has any mention of the early access on their pre-order info. , which means you won't be able to download the update until June 6th. By submitting the online form request, with the purchase/pre-order receipt, will we be circumventing downloading the Morrowind update from Amazon/Steam, and downloading directly from ZOS instead? This really needs to be clarified in the official release...it's extremely pertinent information.

Especially considering that I know MS specifically changed their policies about certifications to make their game store more friendly to independent developers and try to get some of the indy business that Sony has been famous for... which means Sony doesn't have that much of a cert process either. They did this so that developers could easily patch their games almost whenever they wanted (a huge complaint developers used to have against MS, but no longer?)

The cert process, I am sure, is still an extra effort, but not so much that ZOS couldn't navigate it and all. I understand the console lagging behind PC on normal stuff... however, this isn't a 'normal' thing. This is MAJOR deal, the first actual expansion to the game, and one that needs to be purchased, not just sub and we have it. They should have REALLY put extra effort into making sure that ALL players were treated the same this time. PC gets IC early, ok... PC gets Wrothgar early, eh, I guess... those are minor things, but, *shrug* ok... we didn't have to purchase them, and, overall, small additions to the game.

This time, it is a MAJOR addition. A new class, huge amounts of extra places, battlegrounds, etc. Add in that it is a purchase only addition... add in that it is FREAKING MORROWIND! They KNOW players are going to be hyped for this, that the excitement will be pretty friggin HUGE! Then, they decide to blatantly show they don't care about how console players got treated, even though they had to pay the same price for the expansion?

No. They need to think about things before they do them, and it is obvious they have the same forethought and consideration of others as the typical 4 year old who just got a big bag of sweets.

This is a slight to all console players by you all and was done so purposefully. Do not act like this occurred "suddenly".

Ah, so you would be fine buying a brand new car, that you see others getting 40 mpg, top-speed of 200, etc, and you only get 20 mpg, top speed of 40? Or would you be upset and voicing complaints that you paid the same amount, why don't you get the same quality and benefits? I am guessing you are just being a troll, because of your comment, and if I see it continue, I'll enjoy reporting you for doing that. These people, and myself, are not crying over ridiculous BS, but expecting the same results for the same price. If ZOS wants to give more benefits to PC (no matter the reason) they have an obligation to charge more on PC for those benefits, and less on console because we do not get the same as the PC players get. This is ESPECIALLY true since they are altering the deal AFTER people have already made purchases.

Businesses are NOT allowed to require the same prices for a product, then after people have made purchases, change the product so that some customers get more than they purchased. That is actually a LEGAL issue, and ZOS needs to fix it, because people could actually seek action for it. I don't know if any will, but, it CAN be done. Purchases have already been made, at this point, all customers must be treated equally under the original arrangement, and if any changes are made, ALL purchases must be treated to the SAME benefits.
