Ah, so you would be fine buying a brand new car, that you see others getting 40 mpg, top-speed of 200, etc, and you only get 20 mpg, top speed of 40? Or would you be upset and voicing complaints that you paid the same amount, why don't you get the same quality and benefits? I am guessing you are just being a troll, because of your comment, and if I see it continue, I'll enjoy reporting you for doing that. These people, and myself, are not crying over ridiculous BS, but expecting the same results for the same price. If ZOS wants to give more benefits to PC (no matter the reason) they have an obligation to charge more on PC for those benefits, and less on console because we do not get the same as the PC players get. This is ESPECIALLY true since they are altering the deal AFTER people have already made purchases.
Businesses are NOT allowed to require the same prices for a product, then after people have made purchases, change the product so that some customers get more than they purchased. That is actually a LEGAL issue, and ZOS needs to fix it, because people could actually seek action for it. I don't know if any will, but, it CAN be done. Purchases have already been made, at this point, all customers must be treated equally under the original arrangement, and if any changes are made, ALL purchases must be treated to the SAME benefits.

lol, wrong. A patch has to first be completed (as in final changes) which the final patch will land May 22 then submitted for approval. Next it has to go through technical certification to ensure it won't brick the console after being approved. It then of course takes time for them to distribute the patch to the various console servers to be delivered to consoles. So for a patch to release May 22 it has to be submitted roughly 1 week in advance. 3.0 won't be done 1 week before May 22 as it'd be 1 patch behind. In short to do an early access they'd have to push launch to June 13th with early access starting June 6th, which is just stupid for the sake of satisfying console whiners.
Every other multi platform game manages somehow, magically, to do all of this well in advance, to enable a multi platform release at the same time.
ZOS just uses this bs as an excuse time and time again. If they wanted to do it, they would.
But hey, carry on believing.
The only thing other companies are doing is delaying the PC version of the game.

Yes, and thereby pleasing players on each platform.
Not pissing off/alienating half of their player base with a hastily thought out damage control mechanism to try to alleviate the mass exodus of disgruntled players upset with the Morrowind calamity patch.

If you had been proactive this could have been done for console players too.
Really bad move.
At this rate console players should pay fraction of the cost, since we are neglected over and over again, and doesn't even have working content.

@ZOS_GinaBruno
Let's be honest. It's not something you'd like to do (the company) because ZOS understands the cert timelines of each console and you announced this in January so if you truly would like to have done this, the submission for all would've been sent in and cert prior to today's announcement about the PC/Mac early access to the base game update.
While it obvious some of you really do care, the constant communication and decisions never have aligned with your comment. And the whole dialogue about not wanting PC players to have to wait on console....this actually means ZOS decisions are not in everyone's best interest but instead focused on other interests.
Just please, those of you who do care, consider how your decisions impact your entire customer base vs segmenting the player base by platform.
A lot of the forum devision and highly moderated threads exists due to your decisions and roll out schedule of any an all updates and content.
While any glaring issues need to be dealt with asap by platform the content updates can roll out in the same week rather than 2-6 weeks apart.
Notice you're selling items on the same timeline but access isn't granted as such, therefore it's a ZOS decision and not that of any console procedure so please stop using that as a reason or excuse

Especially considering that I know MS specifically changed their policies about certifications to make their game store more friendly to independent developers and try to get some of the indy business that Sony has been famous for... which means Sony doesn't have that much of a cert process either. They did this so that developers could easily patch their games almost whenever they wanted (a huge complaint developers used to have against MS, but no longer?)
The cert process, I am sure, is still an extra effort, but not so much that ZOS couldn't navigate it and all. I understand the console lagging behind PC on normal stuff... however, this isn't a 'normal' thing. This is MAJOR deal, the first actual expansion to the game, and one that needs to be purchased, not just sub and we have it. They should have REALLY put extra effort into making sure that ALL players were treated the same this time. PC gets IC early, ok... PC gets Wrothgar early, eh, I guess... those are minor things, but, *shrug* ok... we didn't have to purchase them, and, overall, small additions to the game.
This time, it is a MAJOR addition. A new class, huge amounts of extra places, battlegrounds, etc. Add in that it is a purchase only addition... add in that it is FREAKING MORROWIND! They KNOW players are going to be hyped for this, that the excitement will be pretty friggin HUGE! Then, they decide to blatantly show they don't care about how console players got treated, even though they had to pay the same price for the expansion?
No. They need to think about things before they do them, and it is obvious they have the same forethought and consideration of others as the typical 4 year old who just got a big bag of sweets.

Higher drop rate in Maw as they are unplayable
More DPS and Healing? Well a disconnected DPS or healer is less than a non disconnected one.
A less buggy game? ABSOLUTELY
I presume early release means that you guys have decided you are more or less finished tweaking the game?!?!
I think this is a mistake for 2 reasons. Firstly there is still uproar over the sustain nerfs and although you said you were listening I see no real reversal on the severity of these nerfs. Secondly, if you go to launch early and the game still proves to be bug ridden this will not go down well. It will look like you threw the game out early when it wasn't ready, so I really hope if you launch on May 22nd, that you ensure it is bug free!

Yeah, might have been sarcasm, but, not a good time to do so. No, this is like you looking at all of the pre-order bonuses for a game, deciding to buy it, then a month later, the company decides to tell you that they changed the pre-order bonuses, but the one you ordered doesn't get the NEW benefits. If you want to think of it in "Mom/Brother" context, there really isn't one, since there wasn't a choice in who you got as a mother, or brother.ManwithBeard9 wrote: »What do I get as a PC player get that a console player doesn't get? Exactly, but make sure to add in add-ons... There is so much that console players just accept as being the 'punishment' for playing on console, that PC players just enjoy and, I guess, never realize how much they do get? There are so many problems on console, all the time, that simply do not exist on PC, and we kinda just go along with it usually. This is something that is pretty far beyond that. PC players always get a lot of benefits, and now they get a pre-order bonus that console players do not, that was added on AFTER purchases were already made?
ZOS, you need to treat players the same, especially in the case of purchasing players.
