Can't you guys fix your s#!t instead of completely unnecessarily rushing the release?ZOS_GinaBruno wrote: »Just to clarify: All PC players will be getting the base game patch on 5/22. I don't know what is worse, Zenimax big lie or the PC community making fun of console players and ruining this thread.
I feel very ashamed to play on PC, but I've never seen anything more toxic than a PC community so I'm not very surprised.
I know many of you don't have experience in life but remember to be fair in life, always think about the rest because if you spend your life being as selfish as you guys are in this forum you guys will die alone or around fake tears.
Why only PC players? Why is this information hidden? You said 20 times Morrowind was coming on June 6 for EVERYONE, another lie? Whao.
I don't know if you knew about it but a lot of people were excited about Morrowind getting released the same day so there will finally be a war between platforms to achieve the World First clear of the new Trial, PC players already got an advantage because of the PTS and now this, whao you guys just ruined it.
There will be a war? For being the first to clear content? Really?
WTF?
No offense intended, I am genuinely baffled - Is this what you people get up for in the morning?

Is that from a song or something?
I didn't mean war in a bad way, I should have said race, it was something I was really happy to see the release at the same time because I've done it in others game and there's nothing more beautiful to see console and PC community helping each other, talking about the mechanics and trying to get it cleared.
In this game I can understand that there's not a lot of people complaining due to the fact that Vet Trials are closed to the 5% of the player base and to only the 1% next patch but in others game is a very good thing.

Our group is also practicing vMoL atm, the chances of completing that are going to plummet with the patch.
Even less reason to keep logging in. Oh well.
Since we are all enjoying our little conspiracy here... How long does an average PTS cycle take for ESO? 4 weeks. How long is the PTS for Morrowind now? 4 weeks. How long does it take to get the patch on consoles? 2 weeks after PC release. And the same happens with Morrowind.
I do not think it was a last ditch attempt to save the subs/preorders. MorrowInd's PTS testing has started way to early and stuff wasn't adding up. Now it all makes sense though, ZOS obviously planned this "early access" long ago. They probably wanted to make it a surprise for everyone and make PC crowd happy. But in truth it's just marketing fluff. Those release dates were set long before the PTS started.
DaveMoeDee wrote: »Everyone should not be debating over the Sony and MS thing... It's a smokescreen... wake up..
The real question is WHY the change of heart on release dates? That's what we all want to know.
Why since january has it been June 6th for ALL platforms?
Why today, was it announced that they want to do something 'special'?
I think everyone fully understands that there can be delays between console and pc releases of games and we are letting ZOS and @ZOS_GinaBruno off the hook by arguing with each other when we should be demanding to know WHY this decision was made to go early. To be clear, that's what this is.
Clearly, in the posts made, a decision was made to green light PC earlier than anticipated. We just want to know the WHY??
I am amazed at some of these posts. "Demanding"? What kind of person ends up with the emotions that lead to that kind of reaction to something like this?
It makes complete sense that you don't promise early access until you know that the game will be good to go by that time.
Why early? Because it is ready and there are no barriers to releasing on PC as soon as it is good to go.
That's what I suspect, too. It's not fair to console players, though, but I can understand it from a business perspective.SydneyGrey wrote: »Not sure why they're allowing early access, knowing that a bunch of people will get upset.
But I've played games before where PC and console versions had different release dates, so it isn't a surprise. It's just how it is sometimes with games.
I'm on PC, so yay me.
My guess? They expected Morrowind to be a smashing success and cash cow. When it was announced, I imagine lots of people preordered, and it probably looked like it WAS going to be a cash cow. Then, patch notes and PTS hit and people began getting refunds/cancelling subs. When they started bleeding subs and preorders began getting returned, they needed a way to stop the hemorrhage - enter the "early access". A last minute decision to get the hype train going again, and try to regain some lost revenue.
Now, that is all purely hypothetical, but it seems to be a reasonable explanation of why this is occurring. If it DID happen that way, then console getting left out was an unfortunate side effect of a desperate measure. If it didn't happen that way and this was planned all along, well, that's just a terrible business practice.

Zos is about to really shoot themselves in the foot here, if this launch *** up they are in a world of trouble. If console trials aren't fixed with this launch the platform will die.
But hey at least if they are fixed Alcast will have a new trial guide set up for us. yay discovery will be fun.

Early access is fairly common. I've been in about 15 different alpha/betas and all of them, including ESO had head start access before it was released to everyone.
But this doesn't make your 'spider sense' wrong

It is common yes. For instance battlefield and call of duty generally have done early access to pre order customers and some later Halo games...but on all platforms at once where they launched on.
I just feel given you can Google Morrowind it turns up a lot of hate topics quite easily and zos may have taken this option early to just kill of the negative information feeling it will harm sales. Realistically they aren't gaining anything from doing this.
Never seen so many grown people cry.
Ah, so you would be fine buying a brand new car, that you see others getting 40 mpg, top-speed of 200, etc, and you only get 20 mpg, top speed of 40? Or would you be upset and voicing complaints that you paid the same amount, why don't you get the same quality and benefits? I am guessing you are just being a troll, because of your comment, and if I see it continue, I'll enjoy reporting you for doing that. These people, and myself, are not crying over ridiculous BS, but expecting the same results for the same price. If ZOS wants to give more benefits to PC (no matter the reason) they have an obligation to charge more on PC for those benefits, and less on console because we do not get the same as the PC players get. This is ESPECIALLY true since they are altering the deal AFTER people have already made purchases.
Businesses are NOT allowed to require the same prices for a product, then after people have made purchases, change the product so that some customers get more than they purchased. That is actually a LEGAL issue, and ZOS needs to fix it, because people could actually seek action for it. I don't know if any will, but, it CAN be done. Purchases have already been made, at this point, all customers must be treated equally under the original arrangement, and if any changes are made, ALL purchases must be treated to the SAME benefits.

I stopped reading this idiotic comparison because this sint a car ... its a video game ...
Christ you console people never stop whining. This is an exhausting treadmill. M$ and $ony REQUIRE REVIEW AND APPROVAL PROCESS OF ALL PATCHES THAT TAKES 1-3 WEEKS. They can't give you early access because of this. If you've a problem with that go complain to M$ and $ony already.
For once a PC game is focusing on PC first. Why should we have to wait another week because of something unrelated to PC entirely. So tired of patches and releases in other games being pushed due to consoles. We don't even play together so why do you even care. What about the tons of console exclusive games that never make it to PC or do after like 4 years of being on console? We've a lot more to complain about than you in regards to equality...
Too many to quote, but, apparently it doesn't matter what anyone says, you guys are going to continue to buy into the BS. Pretty much every other developer has managed to do what ZOS says they cannot do... and, what's worse, ZOS has managed to do what ZOS says they cannot do. They HAVE released patches within 24 hours of each other, the most recent being the Morrowind Prologue patch, which actually happened within mere hours of each other. I woke up that day, saw a new post about it being on PC and they were attempting to finish getting it on Xbox. I logged in, got the quest. So, the patch happened over night on all platforms.
ZOS can do it, they just choose not to. If anyone wishes to disagree, go check out... just about every other game on multiple platforms: FFXIV, ME:Andromeda, Division, Destiny, Magic the Gathering, etc etc etc... Why is it that ZOS is lying BLATANTLY to us?
Oh, and I don't remember which guy it was that said he had experience releasing games on Xbox... but, sorry, anecdotal evidence doesn't work, and even if it did, there are WAY too many examples showing you are wrong.
So if they initially had no plans for early release, but decided to do it early tlfor whatever reasons on pc, you are saying that zos has the authority to tell sony and microsoft to do their will?
You speak as if you know fact, when you just dont know. Its all speculation.
No, but, the fact that they spontaneously decided to do this without ANY consideration of how the console players would feel? That proves that console will always be a forgotten, at best afterthought, group. If they had come out and said, "2 week early release for PC, and because we cannot do the same for consoles due to certifications, we are granting an XP increase, or an extra crown crate, or 100 crown gems, etc"? All console players want is to actually be INCLUDED in their decisions, not a "Oh, and consoles will eventually get it too, but whatever".
As many have pointed out, consoles are still battling TONS of bugs, glitches, and broken BS that was fixed on PC long ago, if PC even ever had the problems to begin with.
Btw, I played in Beta on PC, I used to play ON the PC. My friends all pre-ordered console versions because that's what some of them only play on, and some of us don't have extra money to afford $1200 machines, so we all generally agree to just play on console. I figured there was a chance they would do transfers, and I had the extra money, and an ok PC that ran the beta just fine, so I started there, and now play where all of my friends play.
The problem is that ZOS has shown that they CAN do these things, which means one of two possibilities:
1- They knew they would do early access all along, and now show **** poor planning and consideration for console players by not having already sent in the certification requests etc, and are increasing the value of pre-ordering on PC, which is ethically corrupt and wrong.
2- They spontaneously decided to give PC early release, cannot get the certs through fast enough, but, who cares, not like console players will feel wronged by the PC people getting 2 extra weeks to do all of the firsts, do guides, etc etc...
PC people really do not get how this is wrong, and that is such a shame, showing how selfish they are by not feeling like getting an extra for the same price wrongs others. Imagine, this is like waking up a week before Christmas to find that your parents have decided to start giving your sibling a present every day until Christmas, when both of you will get the normal amount of gifts on that day as well. Shouldn't your sibling stop and say, "What about them? Aren't you going to do SOMETHING to make it up to them, too?"
Im on console and i dont care... i feel great actually, and like that they did this.

Cry babies acting like five year olds because they want it now!
