Wait so if I can start Morrowind May 22nd, how would that work? Lets say I do the pre ordsr but my raid group does not, will I not be able to raid with them? If I am able to raid with them, do I get to keep the Live sustain or will I be bound by the Morrowind sustain?

...first I've heard of Morrowind granting Early Access.

Anyway, whenever the 3.0 patch hits, that will apply the new recovery rates... so if that's before the Expansion actually drops, we'll have it a day or two ahead of launch.

    I think:

the entire patch will be applied to the live servers (can't have different versions there). Everyone will just get the base game stuff early. So you will eb able to play with them, everyone will have the sustain changes, and only if you have Morrowind you will be able to play warden, battlegrounds and new trial... Bit like it is on the pts now with people that have closed beta access and people that don't...

Decouple Vvardenfell from base game changes and it'll become clear.

The base patch will affect everyone when it hits Live, this isn't connected to Morrowind ownership. However, people without access to the new Chapter will not be able to go to the island of Vvardenfell, use the new Warden class or battlegrounds. You can raid with your friends in old trials, but the new one will be accessible only to those who purchased Morrowind (and between May 22nd and June 6th, to people who pre-ordered).

I'm more concerned with the fact we're getting one more patch before early access starts.

Just to clarify: All PC players will be getting the base game patch on 5/22. Only those who purchased the Morrowind Digital Upgrade (or Physical CE with the form filled out) will have access to Morrowind on 5/22.

Why only PC players? Why is this information hidden? You said 20 times Morrowind was coming on June 6 for EVERYONE, another lie? Whao.

I don't know if you knew about it but a lot of people were excited about Morrowind getting released the same day so there will finally be a war between platforms to achieve the World First clear of the new Trial, PC players already got an advantage because of the PTS and now this, whao you guys just ruined it.

So just PC only due to the patch update not consoles?
Odd that your info changed from the announcement but I just need to cancel my pre order at this point via Xbox. The way you all are handling stuff is not in a way I can continue to be on board with. I was going to wait and play but now I see it's still going to be a mess roll out for consoles.

It’s something we’d like to do, but due to the time needed for certification of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One ESO: Morrowind clients, we are not able to offer early access for our console players.

The problem is there is more BS like third party approvals (and possibly related costs) from Microsoft oR Sony ZOS has to go through for Console releases. It really isn't fair to PC players to hold the content hostage until the console processes are completed.

fair enuff... it's legit that the patch cert time cycles are longer (particularly for XBOX).

I guess we can look at this like a bonus?.. we'll have the current sustain a little longer ;)

I would be considerably MORE concerned if the platforms were mixed, or there was still a PC transfer option.

The good news is we peasants will again have some advanced insight from our PC brethren/sisters/sentient before we go hands-on.

I get that, but, that just about guarantees that all info and firsts for any expansion will be long done by the time the console players get it. Sorry, but when you are in charge of an MMO, these are real things you need to deal with, and be responsible for. It might suck for the PC players, but, I would ask, how many console players do they have compared to PC players? If they have more console players, it might not be fair to PC, but, they should hold it back until ALL pre-orders are treated to the same benefits, or they should reduce the costs of purchase for console players as they do not get the same benefits, or they should increase and offer a PC-Only "Early Access" pre-order that costs more than normal for that benefit.

But, in no way should any company ever treat their player base differently over things they do not have control over (like MS or Sony being PITA's).

    @ZOS_GinaBruno

Let's be honest. It's not something you'd like to do (the company) because ZOS understands the cert timelines of each console and you announced this in January so if you truly would like to have done this, the submission for all would've been sent in and cert prior to today's announcement about the PC/Mac early access to the base game update.

While it obvious some of you really do care, the constant communication and decisions never have aligned with your comment. And the whole dialogue about not wanting PC players to have to wait on console....this actually means ZOS decisions are not in everyone's best interest but instead focused on other interests.

Just please, those of you who do care, consider how your decisions impact your entire customer base vs segmenting the player base by platform.

A lot of the forum devision and highly moderated threads exists due to your decisions and roll out schedule of any an all updates and content.

While any glaring issues need to be dealt with asap by platform the content updates can roll out in the same week rather than 2-6 weeks apart.

Notice you're selling items on the same timeline but access isn't granted as such, therefore it's a ZOS decision and not that of any console procedure so please stop using that as a reason or excuse

If we sent the console update for certification early, then it wouldn't include most of the fixes and tweaks we add in the later PTS patches which is less than ideal.
