What a great excuse using platform against a player. No one should have early access!! you're spoiling the game and alienating 2/3 of your player base

Why only PC players? Why is this information hidden? You said 20 times Morrowind was coming on June 6 for EVERYONE, another lie? Whao.

Especially considering that I know MS specifically changed their policies about certifications to make their game store more friendly to independent developers and try to get some of the indy business that Sony has been famous for... which means Sony doesn't have that much of a cert process either. They did this so that developers could easily patch their games almost whenever they wanted (a huge complaint developers used to have against MS, but no longer?)
The cert process, I am sure, is still an extra effort, but not so much that ZOS couldn't navigate it and all. I understand the console lagging behind PC on normal stuff... however, this isn't a 'normal' thing. This is MAJOR deal, the first actual expansion to the game, and one that needs to be purchased, not just sub and we have it. They should have REALLY put extra effort into making sure that ALL players were treated the same this time. PC gets IC early, ok... PC gets Wrothgar early, eh, I guess... those are minor things, but, *shrug* ok... we didn't have to purchase them, and, overall, small additions to the game.
This time, it is a MAJOR addition. A new class, huge amounts of extra places, battlegrounds, etc. Add in that it is a purchase only addition... add in that it is FREAKING MORROWIND! They KNOW players are going to be hyped for this, that the excitement will be pretty friggin HUGE! Then, they decide to blatantly show they don't care about how console players got treated, even though they had to pay the same price for the expansion?
No. They need to think about things before they do them, and it is obvious they have the same forethought and consideration of others as the typical 4 year old who just got a big bag of sweets.
Really they just dont care about console players? Lol thats like saying my mom blatantly doesnt love me because she called my brother yesterday but not me....
You can't be serious, right? They took 2 full months to even implement a change that WOULD ONLY LOG ISSUES and have yet to fix trials that have been broken 3 MONTHS. The fact that you even suggest ZOS puts as much effort into console as PC is either blatant ignorance or stupidity.
I dont doubt they are incompetent at coding and bug fixing. I just dont think its for lack of caring.
Current and previous decisions suggest they don't care or that's it's a lack of focus and planning.
Decisions are made with thought so @t3hdubzy some interpret it as not caring because it's often, consistent and frequent

I can understand how some might get to that conclusion but logic tells me its not that. They might be disconnected from the community, poor at messaging, and bad at listening, but I just dont see the core game people at the company not caring. For all we know someone at zos pushed for this early access and fought for it, despite opposition, and got it pushed threw. And now theres a bunch of people spitting in their face.
I think people forget that we are hugely disconnected from the decision makers at ZOS, and theres really no way for us to decide based on fact, if they care or not.

I guess Console players are just going to have to avoid the forums, the ESO subreddit and probably other social media platforms for 3 weeks. The hell with your biggest demographic.

So I found the website, logged in on the support-site, selected "early acces morrowind" and now the *** begins. I have to print the freaking pre-order invoice, write my screen-name on it, scan it and then attach it to the request. Like I have a printer and scanner standing here. I give it to you ZoS. I can understand all the changes, the messing up with ESO+, but this is a step to far! You got lucky that I want that freaking Dwemer Statue on my desk, otherwise I would tell you where to shove that early acces of yours!

ZeniMax hasn't communicated that as result of their update being declined by PlayStation and Xbox certification, only PC/Mac would have early access. They are actually communicating and have even confirmed they have not sent in the update for certification so they didn't want to wait and have instead decided to only update PC and will submit for consoles lending a response but the target update is not for May 22nd.
That's why people are upset and also why it's inaccurate to suggest anyone blame Xbox or PlayStation. Xbox and PlayStation aren't developing this game, ZeniMax is and technically the certification is to make sure it complies with the system and network, not that it's bug free so this is not a console issue it's a developer poor decision......again

I find it hilarious that this is the reason... FFXIV seems to be able to patch both PC/Console simultaneously with zero problems.... one might say they are professionals. (To be fair it's only 1 console PS3/4 but regardless they do it.)
They probably just hold back the pc patch a few extra weeks. I am glad Zos doesn't do this...
This of all the issues to me is a non issues and it certainly shows us who is a part of the entitled crew.

But you would be a update or 2 behind that means allot .. Like broken quests no voice acting so so basically not worthy of live
There would be a huge complaint thread for consoles if they did that
Any game that is on multi platforms and pc . pc will always get the update since they don't need MS/Sony console ppl should get use to this it's the price you pay to know 100% that your specs can play it just fine

lol, wrong. A patch has to first be completed (as in final changes) which the final patch will land May 22 then submitted for approval. Next it has to go through technical certification to ensure it won't brick the console after being approved. It then of course takes time for them to distribute the patch to the various console servers to be delivered to consoles. So for a patch to release May 22 it has to be submitted roughly 1 week in advance. 3.0 won't be done 1 week before May 22 as it'd be 1 patch behind. In short to do an early access they'd have to push launch to June 13th with early access starting June 6th, which is just stupid for the sake of satisfying console whiners.
This of all the issues to me is a non issues and it certainly shows us who is a part of the entitled crew.
Oh boy... another person who doesn't understand the definition of 'entitled'... When a person pays for something, they ARE entitled to it. When someone doesn't, they are NOT entitled to it. I paid for the exact same package as a PC player did, and a month afterwards, ZOS adds value to the PC package. No matter what metaphor or other situation you put that in, it is morally, ethically, wrong, and even against the law. Those practices were put in our law books to prevent preferential treatment unless under very specific circumstances. Those circumstances do not apply here. We all paid for the same package, if they choose to add value to any specific package, then they MUST add that same value to ALL packages. Like I said, it applies to every possible scenario... at the most simple, imagine someone at a market, they buy a pound of apples for $2. As they are walking away, someone else buys a pound of apples for $2, but the guy gives them a pound of sugar with them, FREE! Why didn't the first get the same deal? No reason. The vendor tells them, because they have blonde hair, the other had brown. We have laws to prevent that sort of behavior, and ZOS has a responsibility to follow those laws. I would much prefer that they just do the right thing, because they are good people, etc... but, if not, then that is why we have those laws, because we cannot expect businesses to always be ethical, so we have to FORCE them to do what is right and fair as best as we can.Valkysas154 wrote: »If you want to get all mad at some one get mad at MS/Sony its there fault not ZOS
Guess you need to research more then, it isn't MS or Sony that is at fault. Both allow patches the next day, and almost, if not completely, free of charge. Sony always operated this way, and that is why Sony has a ton of independent developer support and games. MS had a huge hassle on 360, which pushed them to Sony. They saw that, and changed it so that when the Xbox One came out, the policy was almost identical to Sony's. There are no more huge hoops to jump through, as soon as they have the patch ready for Xbox and PS, it would be in the next day if they wanted it to be. The problem is, it has to be coded correctly for each system, sent to MS/Sony to approve, etc. They do not have to do THAT on PC. But, the difference is a matter of 24 hours assuming they had people coding the expansion for all 3 at the same time.
They do not. That is ZOS' fault, not MS, not Sony. It isn't as if ZOS isn't making money hand over fist from the crown store, so, they CAN hire people to do everything they need to in order to be fair to all platforms, they choose not to, because that would cost money. That is about the only reason I can think of, as to why they consistently do this, when NO other games do it.
Just as an example, notice that Mass Effect Andromeda's patches are hitting all platforms at the same time? Or, even better... notice that the Morrowind prologue thing was on console within 24 hours of it being on PC? Amazing how that can happen when they want it to... and, no, size means nothing. If properly planned out, the same could be done on Morrowind. Consoles could have it the same day, or within 24 hours.

And when will console players get access? We paid just as much as the PC people did.
The problem is there is more BS like third party approvals (and possibly related costs) from Microsoft oR Sony ZOS has to go through for Console releases. It really isn't fair to PC players to hold the content hostage until the console processes are completed.
I get that, but, that just about guarantees that all info and firsts for any expansion will be long done by the time the console players get it. Sorry, but when you are in charge of an MMO, these are real things you need to deal with, and be responsible for. It might suck for the PC players, but, I would ask, how many console players do they have compared to PC players? If they have more console players, it might not be fair to PC, but, they should hold it back until ALL pre-orders are treated to the same benefits, or they should reduce the costs of purchase for console players as they do not get the same benefits, or they should increase and offer a PC-Only "Early Access" pre-order that costs more than normal for that benefit.
But, in no way should any company ever treat their player base differently over things they do not have control over (like MS or Sony being PITA's).
