Had the same issue with Vivaldi (which is based on Chrome) but with Edge it worked.

Yeah, it's quite a short window - perhaps too short - but it's understandable they want to quickly remove access from people who cancelled their pre-orders. If any longer delay happens, you'll just be locked out of Vvardenfell until you can apply the code.

I remember all the butthurt from PC players when they announced the game was being made for Xbone and PS4. Some funny stuff when they announced that.

For this update I would gladly let console get early access. I'd have more time to play the current patch and get certain things done before I go back to the drawing board on my stamblade.

Its exactly the same product. I can log into ESO right now on PS4 and play the exact same content that a PC player is able to experience. There is nothing objectively different between the two besides UI.

Seriously, I feel for everybody working at ZOS....especially the community managers who have to cope with this kind of BS for a living. Gina, Jessica, Kai....keep your heads up. Reason I ask, I'm a PC player,

People get different thrills out of different things within an mmo. Some enjoy fishing some hate it, others like to try to be top of leaderboards others try to be first to compete new content.

While I couldn't give a dam if I'm the last person to complete it, I understand those playing on the console that do want to do this. I also (from the amount of problems console players seem to be having) understand those who feel this is kind of another kick in the teeth to them, no matter how trivial PC users getting it two weeks early might seem to you or me.

Two things get to me with this.

1) To me, it is very very very obvious that by Zos announcing this, it would cause the kind of uproar it seems to be causing, none of us expected it before June, so why didn't they simply leave it like that for everyone.

2) However, my main concern (and why I asked if you had played pts) is that in my and many other peoples opinion it is in no fit state to be released. If anything they should have said they needed an extra month to get balancing and bugs sorted, NOT bring the release date forward.

The initial ESO release nearly killed the game (and I think is probably the reason Eso ended up going in the direction it has gone in compared to what we were promised we would be getting in the run up to release). Person after person warned them it wasn't ready for release, but they were ignored, many wondered why they bothered bug reporting at all as so many of the bugs reported for weeks and sometimes months, ended up ruining peoples play when ESO went live.

I really really hope they don't make the same mistake again, I say that as someone who loves the game, sub's and will continue to sub even (and I mean 'even') after the 22nd.

You mean like the first two dlc for Skyrim and at least one for Fallout3 were released a month early for consoles and pc players had to wait? Granted, that was Bethesda publishing, but it has happened before.

I was hoping the game would remain pc only. No console limitations to take into account, or outrage that a subscription was required. Would be interesting to see what the game would have been if it had remained pc only.

It would be dead, or actually Pay to Win, since by ZoS's latest PR on the issue, the platforms were an almost even split. So that's 2/3 of the revenue down the toilet.

This whole: consoles are garbage, their community is crap/ young/ dumb/ whatever needs to stop. Console players have contributed more than their fair share to this game. Last year's ESA report actually puts most console gamers in their thirties, so these are people with jobs, responsiblities and higher than average disposable income--the ones ZoS should be catering to.

Or possibly settled into a niche game market, with a smaller but stable player base. Who knows? After the bad experiences with xbox and ps3/4 for other Bethesda published games, I don't know why anyone thought bringing this game to consoles would be different. But they did, and only delayed the console release for a year due to issues getting the game to work, and certification fun. Would have been interesting to see what content they could have released if they hadn't been working on the console versions. :shrug:

As for the relative ages of console users; I can accept the idea that there are some out there who are older, mature, responsible adults. Going by how some console users post here, I don't know how many of the older mature ones actually play ESO however. The "We deserve compensation/crown crates because the pc is getting Morrowind early and console users aren't" is kind of a case in point. Although I grant you there are less than mature players on all the platforms.

Wow... so, expectations of equal treatment for paying the same amount is immature, and willingness to bend over and apathetically accept being screwed is a sign of maturity? I'm glad I missed THAT bus... I am 40 years old, and not once in my life, for ME or for anyone else, have I been one to sit on the sidelines and accept anyone being screwed, and I definitely don't treat others that way, even if it is to my own detriment. If something is only worth a specific price, I sell it for that price (and I don't mean the ridiculous pawn broker prices listed on items). That carries over into RL, too.

I only expect ZOS to do what is ethically right. If two, or three or more, groups of people buy an advertised product under the listed descriptions, and they LATER change that for any portion of the customers, they are OBLIGATED under law (assuming they refuse to do it under their own good nature) to fix it so that ALL parties are treated equally and fairly.

You can continue to just bend over and take it, but that is YOUR choice, don't start bringing maturity into this, because it isn't like we are playing for free, get this for free, and we expect more. WE PAID MONEY FOR A PRODUCT, and that product changed AFTER we paid, but only for some, they need to own up and make it fair for ALL. That isn't immature 'entitlement', that is fairness and equality in business and marketing practices.

But we have not bought the same product. ESO:Morrowind for PC and ESO: Morrowind for PS4 or Xbox are all different products. You can't play on PC if you've bought a PS4 version and vice versa. It doesn't matter if we pay the same amount.

People who bought ESO: Morrowind for PC all got early access. And all who bought for PS4/Xbox didn't. Noone is breaking your rights and any laws here.

No, they really aren't. Other than platform, they were advertised with the exact same benefits and package details. Literally, the only difference between the packages, was platform. You cannot change the package details after purchases, unless it is across the board, or at least impartial as best as can be done. The least that should happen is ZOS attempting to make it up somehow, the worst I could see is ZOS losing a ton of customers, and maybe some form of legal action. Pretty sure they would win, as well, there are so many petty lawsuits out there that win, I could see this, which has justification behind it, going pretty far. And, yeah, some players that are jaded and just willingly take whatever screwing happens along, they might ignore it... but, I have yet to find a single person in-game that wasn't immediately upset over this. All I have to tell them is, "PC is getting early access on May 22nd." and they launch into how much BS that is. It is bad business, bad ethics, and if not completely illegal, at the very least PUSHING the boundaries enough that any court would be against it.

As long as they are giving you what they said they would they have done nothing illegal.

Doesn't matter if they decide to give PC users 1000000 crowns, console players still got what they paid for.

That's without the fact that if your not happy, you can cancel your preorder.

I'm with you that they should have kept the dates the same, but your issues on the legality is in my opinion wrong.

While I live under EU law and I presume you are in the USA, are you telling me that every person in the USA that goes into say a national car dealership, and buys the same car, pays the same, or doesn't negotiate more extras than another customer?
The adverts and list prices for them would have been the same for everyone.

If they had taken your money then given you less than was offered to you, and they didn't let you pull out of the deal, then sure, legality would come into it, but you have got exactly what they offered you (and as say a PS4 user reading the ad, while the ad might have included the other two platforms, the PS4 user isn't paying for what's offered to a PC user, they are simp!y paying for what is being advertised for their platform)

Again you have my sympathies

So youre claiming that the game Im playing on PS4 is not ESO but infact something else? You can sit here and try and twist this into alternative facts and what not all you want. I'm excited about Early Access but I wish to God ZoS would give us some clue about how big the download is going to be. Those of us with bandwidth quotas to manage have to plan for very large downloads, which Morrowind could well be.

Judging from the initial PTS patch, you'd be looking at around 9GB

When I own both editions, but not crying over spilled milk, I guess I can take the high road and leave you to wallow in your own misery. I have the opportunity to get early access, but it matters not. I am mature enough to know not all things in life are fair. I am not going to throw a temper tantrum because Zos is so mean to us console players. Yes it is the same game, but controlled by different entities. Another reason why we don't have mods on console. Maybe you are just angry because I am not? Sorry to dissapoint you. If anything, they need to fix this game before adding new content. I could care less about the dlc adding more bugs and problems when the existing game doesn't work.

I cancelled my pre ordered physical copy after reading the announcement and bought the digital. I'm all for early access.

Well done ZOS. Let's not waste anymore time. If this is to be my final ESO purchase then I'd like it to be ASAP.

I wonder how many pre-orders ZOS actually lost for them to do this, I wonder if it's tied together. If it is and Pre-orders got cancelled and the devs are doing some changes for the community, all I can say is well done for getting them to bite the bullet. Though I'm just speculating.

We have decided to allow early access to anyone on PC that has pre-ordered the Morrowind Chapter

This is a buff if you play on console as you will continue to be able to have face paced combat until the stated release. This is a nerf for those on PC as we need to roll out Heavy Attacks Online ASAP

I mean depending what happens on the show tonight is what will give you the answers, if there are some changes, just tell people to read through the lines cause it's pretty obvious what they are doing if they make some sustain changes

Mods are a whole different topic. They dont prove your point at all.

By having to get certification ZOS fits not have full control over what goes into each patch on console. They have to abide by the guidelines set forth by Sony and Microsoft. If ZOS wanted to add in a scene that either console company found inappropriate out offensive, Sony or Microsoft can tell ZOS to remove it or we won't allow the game on our consoles anymore. ZOS is not steering the boat when it comes to consoles. They must obey the will of the console companies to allow their game to be played on then.

Its exactly the same product. I can log into ESO right now on PS4 and play the exact same content that a PC player is able to experience. There is nothing objectively different between the two besides UI.
