If we sent the console update for certification early, then it wouldn't include most of the fixes and tweaks we add in the later PTS patches which is less than ideal.

    @ZOS_GinaBruno
    Again, not targeting you

But if your decision makers planed ahead the build for certifications would be ready ahead of your release schedule. Again....you all went public in January with one date across all platforms, and now you're changing things cause your PTS didn't start until a month and a half out. That's your decision not PlayStation or Xbox.

Ideally if your process was ahead of schedule the PTS phases and update items should address fixes so that any and allminor platform specific patches which come up afterwards can be addressed rather than releasing an update while you're still working on content.

This is why so many threads complain about bugs and oversights every month.
Heck, you all still haven't fixed Orsinium crashes, and eso Plus crowns for Xbox one.....2 years and counting

Exactly. That is why I said they need to be responsible about their decisions. Responsible developers would have plotted out the release date based on when the beta would be over, add in the cert times necessary for all platforms, then decide an early release date, add a week or whatever, then THAT is the actual release date. That way, ALL players get the same benefits for paying the same prices. What this tells the players is that ZOS prizes their PC players, and could give a rat's *** about their console players, despite the fact that they all pay the same amounts.

    @Avalon
Man.......and you know I said, well I'll hold off on canceling my pre order cause of PTS access cause I also own PC but geez, when a company who every month creates micro transactions that average $25-$120, the professionalism, planning and communication should be better.

Heck, People spend less on golf memberships and their communication isn't always great but you know when you can play and what updates to the course and services. I'm using this as a comparable because on the low end, annual golf memberships are around $1,000/year and ZOS customers can easily spend that if they are a subscriber and buy crowns occasionally.

Now they won't spend that in one year however, $300/year they will spend.

And here is the issue with this decision. @ZOS_GinaBruno
ZeniMax has decided to officially reward only PC/Mac players with early access but have also decided to exclude Xbox one and PS4 players who have fit the exact same criteria.

It's not so much that all dates have to align, but it's that your decisions need to align and yet, intentional decision occur every month and very often, the console platforms are omitted or their benefits are reduced

At this point, from a corporate view, why would decision makers do this and have you communicate or suggest that console procedures are why they are excluded.

Perhaps PC and Mac Morrowind should've been announced for June 6 and consoles for June 20th but console early access should have an announcement for June 6th waaaay back in January.

When you all do this, it suggests incompetence or lack of interest in certain customers by platforms.

    That's my feedback

It is already less then ideal, who cares about these minor fixes and tweaks when old content don't get fixed, how about the trial content that is broken and probably will still be broken when Morrowind hits? Give us some updates on that stuff.. @ZOS_GinaBruno

Early access to console subs... make it so! :)
It’s something we’d like to do, but due to the time needed for certification of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One ESO: Morrowind clients, we are not able to offer early access for our console players.

Just to clarify: All PC players will be getting the base game patch on 5/22. Only those who purchased the Morrowind Digital Upgrade (or Physical CE with the form filled out) will have access to Morrowind on 5/22.

Where was this form? I ordered from Amazon. Was there a form on there? I was never prompted for such a think if I remember correctly...I wants my Early Access :)
The form mentioned in that post is in the website article toward the bottom - it's on our help page.

Thank you, got it done :)

As for the announcement for early access: What is "Digital Upgrade" supposed to be?

    The shop offers:
    • Collector's Edition
    • Digital Collector's Edition
    • Digital Collector's Edition Upgrade
    • Standard Edition
    • Morrowind Upgrade

I can't find "Digital Upgrade" as a viable option in your shop.

Unable to write a proper announcement: laughable.

Edit: you didn't even adjust the dates for the Digital CE Upgrade on the shop page from June 6th to May 22th.

If you can't even do such basic work I have no urge whatsoever to get morrowind.

Oh I have to look at the picture to see if that's the right version to be eligible for early access.
Pardon me: in the world I live in you should be able to properly spell your products and your announcement.

Edit: what if the picture is wrong and someone does purchase the morrowind upgrade but that version isn't eligible for early access?
Will you grant them a refund considering how you're so eager to defend those glaring inconsistencies between shop descriptions and their announcement?

To make matters even worse their table of comparing the different versions hasn't even been updated for ease of access to see which versions offer early access.
You can see all the embellishment you get for the CE editions - but nothing as far as early access is concerned.

If they know that June 6th is the earliest date they can safely release on consoles, and they want to give a 2 week early access, then they should have announced a June 20th release date, and gave early access to all pre-orders, regardless of platform, on June 6th. We, the players, would never know anything about the behind the scenes works and efforts, and just be super happy that by pre-ordering, we got early access! YAY ZOS!!

Instead, this is a direct slap to the face for anyone on console, telling all of them, or SHOULD be telling them, ZOS doesn't even consider your happiness with their product, or how much money you spent in their game, you will always be inferior to the PC player base.

So I found the website, logged in on the support-site, selected "early acces morrowind" and now the *** begins. I have to print the freaking pre-order invoice, write my screen-name on it, scan it and then attach it to the request. Like I have a printer and scanner standing here. I give it to you ZoS. I can understand all the changes, the messing up with ESO+, but this is a step to far! You got lucky that I want that freaking Dwemer Statue on my desk, otherwise I would tell you where to shove that early acces of yours!

I'm not missing the point. I understand what is being said, I just think it is petty and incorrect. It's a pretty well known fact among ESO players in general that console has to wait for certification before they are allowed to push updates to it. They've never hidden this.

The article about early access also clearly states this at the bottom:
Due to the time needed for certification of the PlayStation and Xbox One ESO: Morrowind clients, we are not able to offer early access for our console players. We look forward to seeing you on June 6!

For all we know, June 6th might have been the earliest they could get certification on console for the patch. We don't know that early access was ever even planned, it could have been a recent decision. Seems to me stating early access upfront would have been a really good selling point to get more preorders.

It's only a slap in the face based on your own conjecture.

Woah wait say what now? 22nd May? Does this include all the basegame changes for everyone? So most our builds and stuff will be void 2 weeks earlier than planned? ...can I opt out if I do NOT preorder?:p

@ZOS_GinaBruno , seriously - that means full patch will go live 22nd May then? All the combat changes and "rebalancing" and stuff? Or it's exclusively opening up Morrowind but holding off with the rest til June 6th? It's a little bit confusing.

Just to clarify: All PC players will be getting the base game patch on 5/22. Only those who purchased the Morrowind Digital Upgrade (or Physical CE with the form filled out) will have access to Morrowind on 5/22.

Why only PC players? Why is this information hidden? You said 20 times Morrowind was coming on June 6 for EVERYONE, another lie? Whao.

I don't know if you knew about it but a lot of people were excited about Morrowind getting released the same day so there will finally be a war between platforms to achieve the World First clear of the new Trial, PC players already got an advantage because of the PTS and now this, whao you guys just ruined it.

How is that a lie? It will be available to everyone on June 6.

PC will always have advantages because ZOS is in full control of it. On Console on the other hand all their data changes have to go through a certification process with MS/Sony and if they got the greenlight for a June 6 launch, that is what it's going to be.

You are missing the point... players do not see those behind the scenes issues. Which means ZOS can keep all of that hidden, and just make better decisions based on ALL players.

If you've read the ptr forums you should be glad that consoles don't get early access.
With the way things are developing the early access is just a renamed public test for which players are paying for.
You have to be crazy to opt for early access for this "expansion".

You don't have a choice though (except for stop playing). The base game changes are coming for everyone on may 22nd, whether you have early access or not...

Indeed: I can't outrun the base changes.
But if you don't have a running sub those changes don't cost you a dime - unlike those who opt for early access versions and thus pay to have such a piece of software thrown at them.

As for the announcement for early access: What is "Digital Upgrade" supposed to be?

    The shop offers:
    • Collector's Edition
    • Digital Collector's Edition
    • Digital Collector's Edition Upgrade
    • Standard Edition
    • Morrowind Upgrade

I can't find "Digital Upgrade" as a viable option in your shop.

Unable to write a proper announcement: laughable.

I swear some of you *** just for the sake of doing so. L2Read.

They didn't misspell anything at all. What are you on?

It is pretty simple and clear to me. ALL PC/MAC digital preorders get early access. Physical preorders will after submitting proof of purchase from the retailer used.

Reading comprehension is a hell of a thing I guess.

Well, that's kinda cool. Thanks, I appreciate that.

Just to clarify further. This means that all PC/MAC players who bought Morrowind from this website will be able to play Morrowind 22/5? Even the people that didn't buy the special edition or collectors edition?

No idea - which is why I questioned their failures of providing a proper announcement with updated shop descriptions.
Guess we just have to wait until someone can be bothered to offer some clarity.

Early Access is only available for players who purchase the Digital Upgrade or Digital Collector's Edition Upgrade versions of ESO: Morrowind for PC/Mac any time prior to launch.

The listed 2 versions - and of those 2 the "Digital Upgrade" isn't even a version their shop offers.
    Reading comprehension right?

No idea how you interpret that every version is eligible for early access.
As long as the description is so nebulous I doubt that every version is eligible.
