FENGRUSH didn't cook up some cockamamie add-on to assist him! He did not hand his soul over to the BS known as CE! FENGRUGH WENT OUT THERE AND OPENED UP A CAN OF WHOOP A** ON EVERYONE AND ANYONE WITH THAT POOL NOODLE!

I SCIPIO PLAYED, PLAY, AND WILL ALWAYS PLAY WITH ZERO MOTHER [SNIP] ADDONS!!!!!!!!

I've just heard about this, and I havent personally tested it, but I absolutely deplore what this add-on does from what I've been told about it.

It's a clear unfair advantage. If Guild A is running said Add-On, and Guild B is not, Guild A will have a clear advantage if Guild B tries to catch them by surprise. To know your enemy is coming before even seeing them is a clear advantage. Even without telling you directly, it basically acts as an alarm if you see any notifications about players from another guild that you were otherwise unaware of.

"Hey guys, be on your toes, Guild B is in the area." If Guild B is setting up for a stealthy, quick flag of a keep, Guild A May have the opportunity to be notified of it before Guild B has even broken stealth.

It's a clear competitive advantage.

Paul Sage understood at the very beginning what opening the APIs meant. And for a split second right before launch ZOS had decided to close access to the APIs, but of course all the backlash led to them going back in and opening access. Mr. Sage understood that doing this could be an extremely slippery slope. Where do you draw the line between what is fair to the community (allowing for personal choice of whether or not to use addons) and what starts to bend the vision of what ZOS intends?

Sure there are plenty of addons out there that are "harmless" but what happens when a sneaky khajiit irl, like Mr. Miat, cooks something like this up? Even if this addon does not give an exact location of where the enemy is BUT ALERTS YOU TO THERE BEING AN ENEMY NEARBY..... I STILL SAY WTF IS THE PURPOSE OF STEALTH THEN?

That's where the lines start to blur. I personally feel that true fairness and equality can be achieved when players can't dip their hands into the product. If ZOS had ESO locked down, protected from things like CE, then any and all players that log into ESO would be guaranteed a level playing field. Or as level a playing field as ZOS itself could put out there for all of us.

And Miat himself explains it. He didn't like the situation so he saw an opportunity and took it. Do we the players or ZOS even know what someone can truly do with an addon given the time and thought?

The only people against this addon are Xv1ers like OP. Just stay on crown my zerg friends and everything will be alright for you. Great work Miat, this has made PvP enjoyable for us small scale players while we wait for CU.

I'm a bit torn on this one. Stealth is pretty powerful, but at the same time there are enough counters to it that it's never really been a problem. typically you don't have 60 players go dark to bomb 2 guys on a flag and now that raid will know that there is someone hiding nearby.

As far as gankers go... there are ways to counter the stun from stealth. A bunch of hard hitting attacks already make noise from stealth (such as snipe), and often you can hear gankers pop magelight to empower the bow heavy attack.

Sometimes you get into situations where you have a faction stacking at a location to move out and your group of 6-12 is hiding nearby either hoping to bomb a few in the tail or light up the keep once they leave. Now I guess the zerg will know that they are waiting nearby.

While I understand basically how this addon works (Bachelor's in CS), I'm reasonably confident that it will not improve the quality of the game. ESPECIALLY when considering that this addon can warn players that a CASTED ability is being charged to hit them. Think about that for a second. Even if I'm not hiding but the player doesn't see me... if I snipe or hard cast, etc then this guy automatically knows to block or dodge. The stealth thing was iffy, but this feature is way overpowered.

So much stuff makes sense now. I'm glad this add-on was made, but only because I didn't realize how messed up they could get. I wonder what else is out there.

i have no words for this really.

I could never use something like this in pvp.

Something that gives such an advantage, might as well us CE...I don't think ZOS really understands the impact of this, and by the time they do something it will be too late

So the addon doesn't tell you where they are, yet it's advertised as a COUNTER OF PLAYERS AROUND YOU.

For the sake of giving an example, and this ofc is all hypothetical, let's say there is a @Manoekin small man group running around, say about 21, going around capping back keeps at will, and say a small group of players that could be capable of bombing a group like that from stealth are around the keep while Mano fights those hefty front door npcs in an attempt to take down the front door, even though i dont doubt their ability to at least have some awareness that they MIGHT be bombed, this addon will just show ASNEAKYPICKEL, and then mano knows exactly what is gonna happen if they stack or who else might come in to help. Seems like too much information.

Don't let it get you down . PvP is my favorite activity in every game . It's hard accepting that's just a reality here and moving on but it's best . If they could get a handle on it they would of by now . We are on year three . Time to evolve and let the chips fall where they are and call it . Play PvP with tolerance or PvP elsewhere . Tbh I have no issues with this addon. Well except the channeled attack. That's a Lil hazy. Other than that like other people have stated not only in this thread but even before this addon they're counters to gankers. All skills have a unique sound. Just listen for it. As for people saying in zone chat on EP it'll hurt my ganking. Actually I find it to help you out rather than hurt you but that's also my type of playstyle.

I'm more interested if it'll help break up the zergs but I won't get my hopes up.

You do realise most people who used to roam solo without stealth now zerg because of stealth ganking?

I freely admit i don´t want to and won´t utilize stealth.

If the first thing that happens when i go into pvp is i get proccshotted from an invisible enemy i just search my own faction zerg and have a go at it.

Stealthganking is what killed soloplay in this game and drives people like me (and i´ve been trying to play solo without not zergsurfing since release in 2014) to just stick to my factions zerg since one tamriel.
Sneak is the problem and i don´t blame anyone who does not want to sneak for zerging anymore. It´s the only thing that lets you find enjoyment if you´re not in a good grp.

I think it has got me down more since I am such a huge fan of the game and really disappointed that zos, manages the game so poorly and does not make much of an attempt to make a fair and fun zone for all to enjoy.

I pretty much do what you suggest, I know when I enter cyrodill I am entering a wretched hive of scum and villainy, just roll with, it is disheartening to see the same people cheat everyday and nothing ever gets done, watching those players breaking the laws of game physics is just sad, I have played this game and others for a long time I can tell the difference between a good player and a cheater. But me and my friends just kind of work the map we find players of poor ethics in one area we move to another don't bother with them when possible.

I am sure there are other add-ons and third party programs that people use , seems like cheating is some kind of addictive disease, I wish zos would shut the API down even more.

If someone thinks it´s ok to be able to instantly kill me from invisibility without any chance to combat this i think it´s ok to have an addon telling me in advance what he´s going to try.

It nullifies any tactics that utilize stealth in Cyrodiil, not just ganking. It must be banned as soon as possible.

Where do people find those cheaters all the time.

This is unfortunate, and during the holidays also.... Right in the middle of the New Life Festival.... What will Zergbad Exterminator and Sribes tell their families? How will they look their kids in the eyes and tell them that there is no Krotha Claus this year? They provide for their families by ganking. Miat's addon is crippling their way of life.

Let us all collect gold, yerba mate, anything you would like to donate, etc. And on New Life Festival Eve we will all present what we have collected to Zergbad and Sribes and their families at a town celebration in Wayrest.
