Anybody in your raid could be cheating and you dont know it, any one of the enemies could be cheating and you dont know it, only the people who are SPAMMING ultimates or gratuitously speed hacking are even noticeable. There could be many many other players who are using the ultimate spamming cheat less noticeably AND/OR scripts they have written themselves which modify other aspects of the game.

The "cheaters" right now have faithfully undermined every possible ounce of satisfaction legitimate players get from trying hard and dedicating time an energy to this game. I recently got EMP and Grand Overlord and it hurts me so much to have my achievement lessened by the people who are cheating. My good friends work incredibly hard to do PVE achievements such as Malestrom Arena or Dragonstar and these cheaters have ruined the PVE leaderboards.

The bottom line is the integrity of the entire game is ruined for everybody right now, because anyone using hacks has an unfair advantage if they are spamming it or not. What does the competition and community mean when some people have a win button?? The death of an MMO is when people dont want to play it anymore, and the more hacks and exploits tolerated by game makers the less new people will want to buy the game because its reputation as a fair system has been destroyed.

If you want players to keep paying you subscription fees and you want new customers you have to maintain a game that people have positive things to say about. Besides the lag and the issues I have experienced in the last two years, nothing has made me ever want to give up on the beautiful game you have created, except now. I cannot be a part of a game that allows cheating. Many Many Many other people feel this way and these people will make posts, put up videos, and spread the word until nobody will ever want to try this game because it is quote "filled with hacks and exploits and impossible for new players to play".

I agree with every word, Sara. Kudos and respect to you for speaking out so clearly and so strongly. The entire community that loves this game need to stand up and demand that these cheats -- and the cheaters who use them -- be permanently removed, and fast. Otherwise, the entire game will be destroyed.

I sent a ticket telling Zos saying people were using cheat engine over a year and half ago . so it's will be no new surprise to Zos that people are using it. I don't think they aren't really that bothered because it doesn't directly cost them any money directly . Unlike the recent crafting writ exploit where they band some people pretty quickly because it was deemed it would harm crown sales. I'm under the impression all Zos really care about is generating more content to bring in more cash until the game is dead and not fixing the problems because they don't have the "resources" or know how and those problems are out of control.

I'm pretty sure ZOS currently has no possibility to detect this with absolute certainty.
I'm curious in how many scenarios the sever actually trusts the client. might it be possible to just tell the sever I've just finished Maelstrom Arena and like to receive my loot from its chest now, whereas in reality im just opening a random container? That might be totally possible.

Anyways, this should be the absolute worst case scenario for ZOS at the moment. A lot of people that have left the game long ago are watching this because they were interested in Dark Brotherhood. I doubt anybody would come back to this.

Right now ZOS has two options, buy and integrate some serious anticheat software, which costs a bunch of money and possibly excludes Mac-players, or write a whole lot of code themselves. Both solutions take time which it seems the community is not willing to give them.

Two years... of the ESO community trying our best to play the game as is. and lets not kidd ourselves. Time and time again our concerns for the state of the PVP system has been down played or just out right ingored.

And now to make matters even worse, with the Third party programs out there.. A lot of legitimate players who DO NOT CHEAT! Are being put under the knife by other, uniformed low level PVP'ers to ZOS for (Cheating) when they are in fact not doing so..
So now with the current state of things get ready for ZOS ( sad to say it) will use a nuke to fix an issue were only a well placed knife to the brain stem is needed...

Get ready to see a crap ton of legitamet players be accused of cheating and say ( you know what ... Eff this game ..and its low class no brain cannon foudder masses in the player base and the management )

you are correct alot of legit players Might come under the knife since this New third party program, but don't think it's the uninformed that's going to put them in that place. you have to understand they can't and won't legally Do anything if they don't have evidence. Ppl can call names all they want but if they aren't pinged on the server for something not adding up etc. then the only ppl getting hit are the PPL in these videos and if you pay enough attention there ARE obvious ppl doing it in the videos. Guaranteed these guys are getting hit first but they can't do anything about the rest of them until they know what they are looking for and do a sweep on the server. Ultimately if they haven't hacked/exploited(because if they have to sweep better believe they are going to widen the prospect) then they have nothing to worry about.

This program is not now, it has worked since beta, they just either changed something recently that allowed it more functionality than it did before or people were being a bit more subtle before.

1 ZOS is not legally bound, they can and will ban you for anything that they deem..and they can also bann you for no reason at all.. ( We the "subscribers" have no legal holding of this game). We have a fair use kinda thing going on...

2 Do you remember the net code patch...? that was a nuke... were a knife was needed..

I'm not worried about it . Investigators have at it . I still have trouble setting the clock in my car when the time changes and my ingame skill isn't much better . I knew this would lead to tinfoil at some point . If you haven't hacked don't panic .

This program is able to do more than just spamable meteors. And it's not only used since its latest patch. Ppl use small speed hacks since ages. You can boost your regen. I doubt you can evidence this in a vid.

Ppl will continue to use it. Detect the tool in the background from your side. There is no other way.

It can probably explain the dodging... the super fast wrecking blow spam and a 100 more things that have been attributed to skill or l2p or "I r gud animation canceller".

Ehhh ... animation cancelling can be done to a stupid extent with just a programmable mouse - lag permitting. That's fully allowed, though silly. The few times I watch videos of people performing exceptionally well, their ping and FPS are multiples of what I normally play with, so it's not farfetched for me to see them able to react to things quicker than I'd expect. Dodging is also incredibly easy to pull off, particularly with that old tap shift before dodge roll exploit. I'm sure there are people out there running this to tweak their stats and flying under the radar, but I don't think it's appropriate to chicken little it. Permaban the people blatantly abusing this, and install a protection system on ZOS' side to eliminate the issue altogether. Our community was already rampant enough with the accusations of exploiting whenever someone died, we don't need more.

Actually the animation cancelling done to a stupid extent with just a programmable mouse is exploiting...

But for the rest of it... I don't know the extent of how things are being abused, I only know whispers that rarely trust me enough to tell me it all.

I can tell you one thing though... my spider sense tingles when I see certain players in combat and what they "accomplish". You can say I'm just some anonymous forum poster making baseless accusations, and you wouldn't be wrong. But... I'm probably right and the rabbit hole goes deeper than you imagine.

ZOS has never really done squat about all the cheating, and that's why we are here where we are today.

Indeed and it's adorable to see so many people here tonight in this thread finally admitting to all the rampant cheating who were leading the pack of lying and denying a week ago. It was a little over a week ago I commented about 3 AD at Glade lumber (one a level 23 healer) who were taking zero damage to their health despite being hit by a combined 200k dps, who then were able to one or two shot several people down without any impact on their health bar. I pst'd one of the players and threatened to record and report and lo and behold they went down pretty easily a few minutes later. I'm actually glad this whole thing is blowing up and the DIRT is being brought into the light. Maybe, just maybe now it can finally be cleaned up.

This is the real damage of this hack. No one in this community can ever trust each other ever again. The community is already toxic. It's an internet thing more than an ESO thing. Now? Everyone is a download away from breaking the game. They don't having to be spamming ultis or floating to the moon either. They can give themselves free dodge roll, multiply their regen, see stealthed players, and etc. ZoS cannot put client side calculations server side, and even if they did, with ESO's bloated packets and the server's having an aneurysm checking LoS it would make the lag even worse. The only option, other than having interns with itchy ban fingers, is an anti-cheat ... and that involves money I am 99.9% sure ZoS doesn't want to shell out, bottom lines and all that.

This game just died for good on PC. We just haven't realized it yet. I was going to come back on Tuesday too lol. There is no fix that can be easily implemented, and we all know ZoS' track record with fixes. I'll take it as a sign.

Cheatengine, one of the programs in question, has worked with ESO since beta. The only thing people would do with it before is increase their run speed, which also had the side effect of reducing their GCD's. A actual hacker with some actual talent poked and prodded ESO and found that they could do so much more. Client side values are being manipulated.

Blinxey and Bishop of souls were two people who did tickle DPS and tanked lawts of damage. We now have dozens and dozens of people spamming ultimates, multiplying their regen values, and etc. Maybe there is a way ZoS can implement server side detection of the cheat ... but they haven't even managed to spot Cheatengine speedhack.

The game is dead. It won't come back from this unless ZoS takes immediate and drastic action ... which they won't. See you in CU.

Blinxey's in-game exploit can't be compared to an easy-accessible 3rd party program that can alter your stats, bypass CP cap etc. etc.

The obvious perma ult and levitating cheats are obvious but there's much more to it. You'll feel the constant doubt in the community from now on.

We cancelled raid tonight because of this. I solo'd on my v2 just to have some fun, and after not encountering any of this and a few guildies wanting to join, we started a small group. Ended up running with friends and getting a large group going, and I'll say this, not one of the enemy groups we fought did this BS, so THANK YOU. Regardless of whether we dislike each other or not, regardless of group size and the usual petty crap, we had only one instance of a single person spamming meteor early on in the night and it was during a fight that would have been a wipe for us even without that.

I was pretty disheartened watching this thread all day long, but to the few guilds on TF left playing, thanks for restoring at least a little faith in the pvp community.

Glad to see some actual PVP happening, but I'm not inclined to run groups until this is fixed.
