Ravager was already nerfed and already has a cooldown.

When, and what is the cooldown?

It was nerfed during 1.6 -- over a year ago. The cooldown is the duration of the bonus.

Ah, okay. So you just can't refresh the effect before it's over. You can still have close to 100% up-time, tho.

No, uptime is based on an 8% chance. As a of opportunities to proceed this becomes binomial... uptime is probably closer to 50%.

So.... I have a question. What is the stat comparison on v14 purple ravager jewellery compared to blue champion 160 ravager jewellery? Am I better off just buying the purple stuff now, because it doesn't seem like risking RNG is worth it for what is possibly a very minute gain.

Stat wise on the set there's not much difference but you can use a more powerful glyph on the v16 item, so even at blue quality you are better off with the v16 version because of the glyph.

Keep in mind these are data mined from Live so values might be 100% accurate but:

    item-55891-66-3.png

So the purple v14 ring is actually slightly better although you'll be able to use a slightly more powerful rune on the v16 version.

Remember that you will have 2 gold armor pieces as well and the set bonuses will average between those. IMO the difference in glyph strength makes the v16 a better option even if its slightly lower set bonus values, ~16 weapon damage is going to be way better 8 crit rating.

I've played MMOs for over a dozen years, and ZOS' communication is in the top five worst from any company I've seen. Hell some MMOs that aren't even out yet have better developer communication. These sets should have been updated in the first iteration of the PTS to allow adequate testing of these sets a CP160.

When we first launched the Dark Brotherhood update on the PTS, we removed some older item sets from both the Rewards for the Worthy bags and the AP vendors. As we had previously told everyone, we didn’t plan to remove the older item sets from the AP vendors. The removal was unintentional and due to a miscommunication, and we’re correcting it—we’ll explain what you can expect.

First, Rewards for the Worthy bags. We want Rewards for the Worthy bags to always be appealing, and contain the latest and greatest item sets. It’s also important that we keep the number of item sets in the Rewards for the Worthy loot table reasonable so your chances of completing your desired item set(s) are higher. We will continue to cycle out older sets from the Rewards for the Worthy bags, and replace them with newer item sets.

When we remove item sets from the Rewards for the Worthy bags, it is our intent that those item sets are still available for purchase from AP vendors. This didn’t happen when the Dark Brotherhood update went to the PTS, but it will. With next week’s PTS incremental patch (and Dark Brotherhood at launch), the older sets will be in thematic boxes sold by “Elite Gear” vendors in your alliance’s home base in Cyrodiil. Here is the full list:

    DEFENSIVE HEAVY BOX
    • Alessian Order
    • Bastion of the Heartland
    • Beckoning Steel
    • Blessing of the Potentates
    • Crest of Cyrodiil
    • Deadly Strike
    • Durok's Bane
    • The Juggernaut

    OFFENSIVE HEAVY BOX
    • Affliction
    • Armor of Truth
    • Blessing of the Potentates
    • Deadly Strike
    • Elf Bane
    • Ravager
    • Sergeant's Mail

    DEFENSIVE MEDIUM BOX
    • Barkskin
    • Crusader
    • Eagle Eye
    • Shadow Walker
    • Shield of the Valiant
    • Twin Sisters
    • Vengeance Leech

    OFFENSIVE MEDIUM BOX
    • Eagle Eye
    • Hawk's Eye
    • Kyne's Kiss
    • Sentry
    • The Morag Tong
    • Vengeance Leech
    • Ward of Cyrodiil

    DEFENSIVE LIGHT BOX
    • Almalexia's Mercy
    • Curse Eater
    • Desert Rose
    • Grace of the Ancients
    • Prayer Shawl
    • Robes of Onslaught
    • Wrath of the Imperium

    OFFENSIVE LIGHT BOX
    • Buffer of the Swift
    • Grace of the Ancients
    • Light of Cyrodiil
    • Noble Duelist's Silks
    • Robes of Alteration Mastery
    • The Arch-Mage
    • Wrath of the Imperium

All items from these boxes scale to the level of your character at the moment when you open the box, up to Champion 160. The boxes cost 20,000 AP apiece, and the items inside will always be Blue-quality. In a future update, we may look into expanding the item slots and Traits that these item sets come in, and/or moving them from the Elite Gear vendors to tie in more tightly with the Cyrodiil Town Capture mechanic.

We hope this helps address your concerns with the removed item sets, and we look forward to your feedback. Thank you!

@Yolokin_Swagonborn I do understand what you mean. But you have to be realistic, or are you fine that Stam Dks with Moragtong+Viper Sting(+few other possible combos) will do almost 1.5x the dps than other classes?
Lets say a Stam DK is gonna hit for 50k dps. So you are fine when you max can reach 30k? I would def be NOT happy.

Also, I do not think they will change any sets, that is why I told my guildbuddies to reroll stamDK asap to be ready next patch. And that is not even a joke >.>

    @Alcast

Just remember, they have confirmed the old sets will NOT come with new pieces or new traits. So, yes, some sets will be nice. But you will not be able to combine them for the OP combos you are describing.

    For example:

Morag Tong has neck, dagger(s), helm, belt, hands, and feet. Neck rolls healthy, daggers precise, and body gear well-fitted.

Viper's Sting has neck, daggers, helm, chest, legs, shoulders, and feet. Neck rolls healthy, dagger(s) precise, and body gear sturdy.

*** Source for above drops and traits is Fextralife

So, you CAN combine Morag Tong and Viper's Sting, but you will be using gear with less than desirable traits for min-maxing, i.e. Morag Tong has well-fitted which is great in PvP but does nothing in PvE and Viper's Sting has Sturdy which is less than optimal in PvP and again garbage in PvE (other than for the tank or solo content like MSA). Furthermore, to combine the sets you will need full body, two daggers, and the neck piece. This means you will be left likely using two Agility Rings for a little bit of extra stam, Ravenger rings for extra crit%, Shadow Walker or Leki's for the wpn dmg, Marksman for the regen, or any of the various ring 2pc for more health. Either way, you will NOT be able to run two Maelstrom Weapons for the extra wpn dmg and massive extra DoT provided by MA DW. So, this will be less than optimal.

Even more to consider... assuming everyone chooses to use MA DW, to even run Morag Tong as a 5-set, without trying to combine it with another set, they would then be forced to equip the Morag Tong belt, hands, feet, HELM, and NECKLACE. That means NO monster helm set (i.e. no SPawn of Mephala which most already consider BiS for a stam DK and it is being scaled to physical and will do poison dmg) and no three piece Agility jewelry combo! That is a LOT of sacrefices just to get the 5pc Morag Tong buff.

Viper's Sting would be subject to almost same build restrictions to get the 5-set bonus. Although with Viper's you could wear helm, shoulders, chest, legs, and feet for the 5-pc and thus you could still get a 3pc jewelry buff should you choose; but no monster helm set.

Yes, Morag Tong and Viper's Sting will be strong as individual, stand-alone sets. But will they really out perform all other 5-sets in a side-by-side comparison, with the aforementioned build limitations in mind? And if they do, will it really be by the margins you claim? I think that if they do out perform, it will be by a much narrower margin. Regardless, I think it is still a bit early to tell; testing will be required.

I would like to also point out that some of the same claims were made by the community about Briarheart and Sheer Venom before they were released and yet they have failed to live up to expectations and are rarely used in any builds (tho to be fair Sheer Venom was nerf'd to effect only a single tgt at a time and thus diminished it's value).

I respect you as a player and certainly respect your opinions. But I would caution against crying wolf before we know all the facts and do some testing...especially since much of the criticism has been with the assumption that the sets would now drop with all pieces and ideal traits...which the devs have now confirmed is not the case.

Enhance Spell-Power Cure so it can affect 6 people at least, and increase the proc rate of scathing mage so they also feel like great set pls ! :)

Someone correct me if I am wrong, and labor under false information, but...

    1) Spell Power Cure does proc on up to six people at the same time (healer included), and thus a 12-man raid group with two healers in SPC can buff the entire team.

    2) They recently increased the proc chance on Scathing Mage to 20%. And with many builds, it is easy enough to keep it up quite a bit of the time. Buffing the proc chance too much more would simply be akin to making the 5-set a flat, full-time buff. And that would certainly be OP given that it is nearly double the Julianos buff.

I think they were only referring to the PvP gear when they said no new traits/pieces. Viper's Sting is from a dungeon, and if it follows the same rules as the other dungeon sets being released (Ebon, Worm Cult, etc), it will have all body/weapon/jewelry pieces and all traits (except maybe impenetrable).

Fair enough, and sorry for the oversight on my part. Indeed, Viper's Sting may come with more options, which in turn might make it so that it can be combined with Morag Tong. Still, we need more information and testing before we call for nerfs.

First of all a big hand for ZOS to give us back so many dear sets <3

On topic: a quality of life improvement suggestion.
We will need an Armory Master a bit like the Crafters bag !

    Considering:
    1. With so many sets that are worthwhile collecting
    2. Level Vet 14 set items that we now want to keep as base to upgrade to CP160 sets by slow RNG replacing over time
    3. The bigger variety in useful traits for differing situations we want to keep as well
    4. The bigger amount of character slots encouraging more kind of class/race/role builds that need different sets to be optimal
    5. Future new Armor sets of new DLC's.
    6. and not to forget..... the completionist inclination of so many of us that resent throwing away something
    7. and the property of the sets NOT to sort out Armor sets by Armor set name. When we have have them piled up in a Bank or 200 Inventory mule character: The current alfabetic sorting of set item names is not very handsome.

    My suggestion is:
Give us an Armory Master that has an overview list with as many lines as there are Armor sets
    1. If you click on an Armor set line, it opens a sub-overview that shows all collected Armor pieces of that Armor set, regardless in which inventory they are stored (Mule Character, Bank or Mannequins/Chest in your Housing)
    2. If you double click on a piece, the Armor Master fetches it and puts it into your active character inventory (and vice versa)

No more "Gosh....where did I put that item...."

idk how to get CP110 Unassailable for example - i need to open chests in CP110 zone, or just be a CP110 hero?
