You already have a system in place for gear boxes in Imperial City using Tel Var. There are two boxes. One gives purples and costs more. The other is cheaper and gives blue items. Why not use do the same for these gear boxes, only using AP?

The difference Is not just Blue or Purple, its V15(Blue) to V16(purple)

But they could add a Box which Contains Jewelry from ALL pvp sets, atleast in Purple and Small Chance for Legendary.

They just must have 30% drop chance for purple and 5% gold drop i think, just because big part of this sets rely on jewelry(at least 3 piece sets) which cannot be upgraded.

Has anyone seen if some of the old sets are dropping in armor, jewelry, & weapon slots they didn't used to? Things like Morag Tong in rings, hawk eye in a necklace, ravager in 1h swords, etc.? No big deal if it's not, just curious.

We won't know until the patch hits PTS. From the OP it sounds like we'll have the same exact pieces to start with, and they may expand the available slots for sets.

I did calculate the difference a while ago, heavy armor gave around 12-18% (depending on how many light/heavy pieces, reinforced traits etc) more mitigation than light armor.

This set gives +25% that stacks on top of normal armor mitigation (meaning you can go over 50% with it).

It's just broken with Templar sweeps & needs to be changed to cast abilities only (not channels).

That change would just make it a junk set.

Well, it's either ridiculously op or it's "junk" - pick your poison.

If they made Healing Ritual uninterruptable, then I could see the set being a good PvP healer set even if it got changed to only apply to cast spells.

As a heavy armor templar, I do not want to be forced to wear light armor in order to maximize my tankiness, that is just bs.

I wouldn't mind them giving it the "Healer's Habit" treatment -- convert the 5-pc bonus to +8-10% healing or some such.

Regardless, we still don't know which pieces will be available (and which traits).

You aren't forced to do such, LA build will be always easy target for gankers, HA mostly forces them to respawn and play in horse simulator ^,..,^
Also, with latest changes your specific build get huge boost, can't really understand how will you drop 3% heal boost, 5% health boost, and 200 spell damage boost for not always active 7% damage mitigation, it's also will not plain stack with empowering sweep, so this set isn't even near forces you to use it.

The amount of mitigation this set gives you over heavy armor is not a small amount - it allows you to tank bigger & bigger zergs while you become nigh unkillable in 1v1.

It's quite simply the BiS set for Templars in PvP in its current form - and there's no heavy armor alternative that would justify not slotting it.

    Too strong.

Great. PvP get updated sets while PvE gets nothing. There's almost no way to earn gold as pure PvE. PvE sets are always BoP and more than not just junk anyway. PvE gets V14 dungeon sets locked behind a 12 man trial if you want V16, makes sense...

I'm not sure I'd you realize this, but there are people out there 5 manning that trial, and it is quite hard to make mass amounts of AP unless you are a great solo player.

HA allows you to live couple of seconds under CC, in LA you will be destroyed instantly even in 1v3 situations, and there's no way to be 100% of time CC immune. Cyro light maybe will be good for burst combined with vicious death but as zerg counter it will work not more than 24 seconds(if you survived 1st hardcc+ate immovability pot right before cc immune disappear) also it would be not that bad on vamps who will have an option to wait for pot rearm in mist form.

This is fantastic! Glad we can finally make use of these sets and maybe see a bit of diversity of builds. It'll also add a bit of incentive to PvP areas.
I've been fuming over the slow updating for VR14 sets for months now, so this a breath of fresh air. Here's hoping you guys get around to the drop sets soon too, It really sucks to see all these neat dungeon sets drop but non of them are viable thanks to the stat-gap between VR14 and VR16gold :/

You are not forced to do anything.

You are acting as if the mitigation will always be in effect. It will not be. I know templars always wantto be sweeping their opponents, but they are not always doing so. You keep saying in all the tank thread that heavy armor allows you to mitigate incoming damage even when CC'd and you rarely feel the need to block. Those advantages are not going away and, as you keep telling tanks, heavy armor is only getting stronger in the next patch.

When Healing Ritual becomes uninterruptable, has a decent range, and does something to prevent allies from dying while waiting for that heal, then perhaps we can revisit shoehorning this set just for healbots to use.

Edit: Besides all this speculation is moot. ZoS has reworked the bonus for many of the sets that have been updated.

Will the boxes contain set items ONLY (the ones you listed)?
Or is there still that chance for non-set items?

We'll get everyone some answers to this questions and others in this thread, tomorrow. (Need to chat with the Dev team!)

Will the sets be back in their original items only, or will we be able to get jewelry and weapons for each set?

best idea would be to change the vendor to be similar to a guild store npc, pick exactly which item you want or a range of items by filter along with setting the item level as the items are scalable, would make it possibly to buy items for alts then too

Frankly I think many of these sets were OP from the start. I though this was why ZOS left them behind with the increase to v16. Their hay day was the worst PVP in my opinion and dps has been creeping up with out them. I hope they all receive a good long look. Same thing with the Trials gear.

It's good to see AP worth something again. Still find it stupid to introduce TV stones ... they should have just switched AP to TV or TV to AP stones, etc. AP should also be bankable so you can share it with all of your alts.

Also they should sell these sets for gold for the PVEers just like they do the Monster Helms, etc. The vendor can be at the Undaunted Enclaves. Once a week is weak as well. They sells should be there every day of the week, and it would be great if you change the trait each day or at least twice a weak.
