@MornaBaine just a heads up, I have posted this on the TESO-RP forums and our EU Stormhaven RP forums asking them to come and comment, show their support and keep this thread moving. If anybody else is going to rise up like a phoenix on fire, it's the RPers. This needs sorting out, I am astonished it was allowed to happen in the first place. Actually shocked!

I'm not. This game is a disgraceful, bug-riddled, unpolished sloppy mess. I have almost no faith in this developer. They don't fix old bugs, then release new content which just compounds on those bugs. Zenimax comes off as nothing but blatantly incompetent and I just have absolutely no faith or confidence in them at all.

That said for what I do in the game...99% of the time it's okay. Except when it's not, because quests bug out and such...

I only play because people like @MornaBaine are freaking awesome. If this game didn't have such an awesome roleplaying community I would drop it for FFXIV:ARR instantly. It's a far better, more polished, bug free incredible game with awesome in-depth player housing and much more.

Robes showing boob form? Sure... but have you ever seen leather/chain armor? It is not form fitting... these erotic fantasy armors get a bit old...

Exactly... There's certainly a lot of armor, costumes and clothes that needs fixing or a rework... But I also see a lot of "complaints" that are actually asking for "super boob plates" or less "plain" heavy or medium armor in females... Seriously, they certainly never seen any armor.
You can barely tell the gender of someone under a suit of armor.
There's a lot of free-to-play asian MMOs out there if you want to fight in a metal bikini, lol. Not only unrealistic and stupid, it's a fruit of our extremely sexist and misogynistic society. People should fight these things, not ask for them. But hey, this is the internet, so...

So I guess women asking for it is internalized misogyny and they have been brainwashed by the patriarchy to loathe themselves and see themselves only as sexual objects for men's pleasure? Rather than having their own opinion about their own sense of fashion, and wishing to see that reflected in game in a way that backs up their playstyle choice such as tank?

I don't know if you've noticed but girls like to dress up and feel sexy, so dressing up and feeling sexy as a blood-thristy barbarian chick may be a woman's fantasy as much as running around shirtless with a giant sword to be "Conan" is a male power-fantasy...

Why can't women have power-fantasies too?

Bumping this thread as it needs to remain in the top. I find it inexscusable that some of these armor motifs/armors are the end result of a "finished product". Bug or not (I think this was intentional on their part to cut down on development time), this should be reversed/fixed. I mean how many corners can you cut? Isn't that what has caused your bug reports to be longer than a senate bill? Impressed yet again.

I'd like to add to this in regards to male and female versions:

    On the PTS is this:

    large.malefemale.jpg.8d409539925b104bad9915b87d203b09.jpg

A clear male and female version. The pirate outfits work the same way.

Why then, can't our menfolk have the harem outfits topless? I saw a group of dancers wearing them while doing a DB quest and the males were topless with just the harem pants on. Why leave the 'bra' tops on for the male fitting then? They'd look so much better without. The wood elf outfits would work like that too, like a little kilt. Men don't need 'boob holders'!

Surely it would be way simpler to just remove the top than to reshape it?

It wasn't just overlooked. It was a conscious design choice to no longer make female character model armor. @ZOS_GinaBruno actually mentioned it on an ESO Live. WHY they decided to cut corners here is a mystery to me. Is the game REALLY doing that poorly financially? Regardless of the reasons, it is a terrible decision and one that was made ON PURPOSE.

There was also a link to that ESO Live episode somewhere in this topic. Basically ZOS stopped making female armour and simply made some modifications to the male form to put it on female characters. Results look awful even without the bloated torso bug.

    kkpb-7m-b9f6.jpg

Left image shows my character in Bosmer leather armour which matches her look very well. Right shows her in Sithis' Jack leather armour from the Sithis' Touch set*. Images are from the character screen to ensure identical camera position.
Note how Sithis' Jack changes her appearance because its base male form cannot properly adapt to the more complex female shape. The chest area is moved up and her breasts are shrinked to some blocky little thing.

With all the effort put into the beautiful terrain and interiors, why are the characters we play treated so bad? Armours look like crap, or worse, transform the character to achieve a certain look and fail instead of adding something awesome to what we created in the editor. Needless to say, but I won't waste time or money on those motifs. This has to be fixed. Make gear to fit our characters, instead of fitting our characters into your gear. And make gear look good on every character again!

(*) I don't know what style this is but I assume it to be from the Dark Brotherhood DLC styles, since it was awarded for completing one of its quests.

I am a little flabbergasted that after the initial official response this thread received it's since been ignored and there are STILL countless armors in the game that suffer from really bad distortion (some of them even on males!)and there has been no official response explaining what they are doing about this. I'm just...incredibly disappointed. :(

I would like to point out that the three female Breton outilfits still use deformed male chests instead of female chests.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

I didn't take pics of the Off-The-Shoulder Evening Dress, but it has the same problem, @ZOS_JessicaFolsom . I admit that I was more worried about showing the issue on the High-Collared Coin Ball Gown because it already left the Crown Store, and I worried that because you guys are not selling it anymore that it won't be fixed. It is by far my favorite dress on the PTS, it looks amazing depending on the dyes, I just wish this would be fixed :(

I used an appearance change token to put the chest slider on the max to make the difference more obvious on the pics. On smaller chested characters, it is not that obvious, but it is still noticeable.

And I completely agree. Remove the top on the Redguard outfits for males, like those npcs that dance inside the Chapel of Dibella in Anvil.

The male tattoos are body art that work for both genders. He just happened to be wearing it at the time I took the pic. I just wanted to show that male versions don't need a 'bra' arrangement on them, so why has it been left on for some outfits that would otherwise work well without.

Also, I've converted a lot of modded outfits to and from male and female, and did a significantly more accurate and better job of them than I'm seeing here. They need some better 3d 'poly pushers' in their studio. :)

Right? I really don't understand why it's there (the arm armor) as it's clearly completely pointless. And especially the armor on the forearm is really bad. Something more like jewelry would be cool but this huge bulky weirdness is completely incongruous. Please make it go away before you release this outfit ZOS.

It clearly doesnt fit... like seriously for "arm protection"? The rest of the body is naked!!! xD it looks so out of place and it destroys an outfit that would look so nice for once!

Wow thats ridiculous. Though i do like my trinimac armor

The trinimac looks fantastic....on male characters.

actually i disagree. just made this today and was so disappointed. i couldnt use it :disappointed: this character is slim but muscular, and this just makes him look bulky. and the floating hip guards just make it so much worse.

    @NBrookus and @MornaBaine

I had the EXACT same issue with trini on my male Templar. Simply atrocious.
