Or maybe you tanslated wrong and 100 ingots for one piece of gear isn't confirmed. Just cause there silent doesn't mean it's confirmed also if it was posted on the EU forums then it would have been posted on the NE forums too ZoS wouldn't say important changes and confirms on PTS and U7 on one forum and not post anything on the other forums.

Go ahead and find me a translation that doesn't mean what the translators have told me it says...I'll wait.

You are right, silence doesn't mean confirmation. The fact that they CONFIRMED THIS ON EU FORUMS DOES.

They've done this before, they will do it again. They do not always post everything in both forums when it comes to upcoming changes and confirmations.

    Sorry to burst your bubble.

Yeah I wish they would be more clearer about what they plan on doing instead of this round about way.I really hope if this is true they change their minds.

Who and why decided that it's good idea? Why ZOS promoting grinding so much? Want to get stronger- grind CP, want to make stronger gear- grind mats!

I never doubted it was accurate (they tend to clear up negatives fast when they are wrong and stay mum on negatives that are correct) which is why they haven't jumped to comment on these threads/posts.

Personally, I like that it requires quite a bit of work to make v16 gear, BUT I think it's too high as is and should be brought down about 25% or so. I also think that drop rates on decon should scale up at quality tiers so you have a better chance to get materials if you are breaking down a purple vs. a white - as it stands, it feels like well under 50% chance to get one material no matter what.

My biggest concern is that they will roll it out like this -- Then a few months down the road when the first round of players or two have gotten the gear, they will lower it for the casuals to "catch up." That sort of thing is getting a bit old.

I do too. Especially when there was a big thread devoted to this very thing and they didn't comment once on it.

Yeah I didn't either, but when they confirmed it on the EU boards it finally put it in stone.

I agree with you though, I don't mind that there is an increased cost, but it's far too high for such a small bonus. I hadn't thought about the decon drop rates but that is a good point as well. Another nice thing would be have a lesser chance to get the lower temper versions as well if you decon blue or higher items.

To your last point, that's exactly why I'm not going to rush to gear out in full v16, I'll use what I've got and upgrade when I can but I'm not wasting my time and effort to see them bring the cost down in a few months.

well you are not going to gather mats by deconstructing but via TvS - you´ll gather 100 stones faster than 1 piece to decon...
alternativly you can spend money on the soon to be anounced crown shop craftmat bundles...

The good news is that matetial acquisition from deconstructing gear will be twice as fast. The bad news is that it will still take weeks of grinding to craft that single vr16 item, which will still be inferior to the dropped sets. Yeah, requiring 10x mats is grinding for the sake of grinding.

Um yeah...that's not what ppl are upset about.

Ppl are upset that it arbitrarily costs 10x as many mats to craft V16 compared to V15 gear while offering pretty much nothing in improvements stats wise - making the entire idea of crafting V16 essentially "not worth it". Said ppl see it for what it is, a poorly engineered attempt to add another massive time sink to the game instead of providing one in the form of meaningful content.

This ^ said much better than I did. While the increase is nice it's peanuts in the grand scheme of how much materials are needed.

At least the v15 versions will be easier to craft.

I can understand the reason for making the new crafting 'ranks' use alot of materials but the gap between v15 & v16 is just too high compared to the stat difference. I'd actually prefer to see something like 50/100 for v15/v16 (respectively) and then give like 3-8 ingots from deconning it.
Will I be able to forget all the wounds that pierce my flesh?

Yeah :P and while the gap between v14 and v16 isn't huge, even the casual min/max people will want the highest level versions of their gear.

Sorry Rich, but your post completely and utterly missed the point of the thread. This is shameful game design to ramp up crafting costs TEN times from V15 to V16 gear, increasing ingot returns on deconstruction does very little to help this issue. This is simply another MMO grind to artificially stress the importance of Tel Var stones and anyone looking to make or use crafted gear should feel insulted, whether they PvP or not.

Not to mention I for one certainly do not want this trend to continue down the road in crafting gear..

Man... You guys really need to think this through. I already understand the logic of making it cost 100+ materials and guaranteeing the drops of ingots, but it's not linear and it's not immersive.

By changing it to a 100% drop rate and requiring 10x the materials, you're fulfilling the gratification to players to feel they are progressing toward a goal. A long goal, but you're making the goal visible. You should continue along the lines of perfect roe and nirncrux though. Drop the rate of harvesting materials from decon to about 10% and make it take 15/16 ingots still, following a linear path that crafting has already started on.

By increasing the number needed, you're also destroying a chance of an economy being fostered here. Instead, the ingots will be too cheap because people want more. You can essentially cause a player market to shift from 10x more expensive to 10x cheaper. By having 100+ needed, you're also going to cause the market to be unstable because players won't feel it's worth their time to grind it out. There will be no steady residual value at all.

Please don't destroy the player economy and crafting in this game here. Focus on what the update should be, a PvP zone with PvE elements. Don't dabble in gear grinding too.
