Siphoning Strikes?

Siphoning Strikes:
This ability is no longer a toggle.
Removed the Power and Spell Power debuff; your attacks now do full damage.
This ability no longer restores a percentage of your Magicka or Stamina. Instead, it restores a fixed amount per hit.
You will no longer build up extra visual effects on your weapon when this ability is cast multiple times.

So it's no longer a toggle so whats this mean?
Does this mean that so long as you have it on your bars you will gain this effect?
Is it a passive skill like a Templars Restoring Aura?
Is it a short term buff like like Two Handed Momentum?

I interpreted as simply slotting it. I wish I could verify but I'm at 70% updating on the PTS... I'm worried about the base amounts of resource restoration instead of %'s. I hope they didn't muck it all up :<

I hope its a passive slotted ability, cant wait to find out i'm at 25%.

I assumed it was on a 20s or 30s timer, like all those DK buffs.

I really hope not. I HATE timer skills. It's incredibly annoying for me to have to recast something every few friggin seconds. I'm nervous

That would make me real sad. ill keep my eye here, it seems like a pretty big game changer to someone who spent the last 1 year with a siphoning build..

Maybe both, the passive combat regen and you push it to gain a buff depending on the morph, that would be cool..

For whatever it's worth, FTC does wonders for managing those timed buffs. Even if you're running a purist UI setup, it might be worth considering just for the buff trackers.

Yeah I use a stripped down version of FTC, I only use the buff/debuff timers

Knowing when to recast it doesn't change the fact that recasting something over and over and over and over is ridiculously annoying. I'll know soon. I hope I'm worrying for nothing.

Thing is, some builds just using way too many of those short term buffs so it would be just annoying to me if it will be a buff.

Edit: Nooope. Done using this skill then if its only 10 seconds. Don't cry though. Just adapt.

I simply won't use it if it has a timer or activation required.

If it's a "works if slotted" type of deal, then I'm cool with it. Less resource gain than on live, true, but we lose the damage penalty and aren't forced to slot it on both bars. It might even see some potential use in PvP if that's the case. I could never justify 2 skills slots in PvP, but one without the damage penalty to gain some sustain? I'm interested.

Why are you doing this? This Nerf (and yes I consider this a nerf for Siphoning Strikes) killed the reason why I play NB-Tank. I was sooo looking forward to tank more with my NB, thanks to the no-regen nerf while blocking.

I can guarantee that 99% of NB-players will no longer use this skill, not in PvP, not in PvE

Unless those percentages are pretty hefty, that sounds like a really short timer.

I agree, at the very least make it a 30 second buff, I dont a 10 second buff can justify a slot on my bar unless the regen is to good to pass up, then I might consider it.

I am trying to wrap my head around how as a NB tank we can be effective making leaderboard times?? With Caltrops and Siphoning Strikes I could do dps while tanking which DK tanks and Templar tanks were already doing..... Now I am not sure if my NB tank will be effective..... unless all tanks get hit this way NB tanks will only be good for raid tanking.

Exactly, it made you somehow unique, and let you focus on other things then resource management, of course with its dowside, the reduced dmg. This go away now, also id be interested to know the exact ammount it will restore, if we could get a clarify on that.

If they would change this to at least 30 sec. That would be at least something, but 10sec? already using Evil hunter, Rally, Blur and i even forget what else. This short term buffs are just annoying

To be fair guys, this skill in it's live incarnation would be far too powerful in conjunction with the block changes in the patch. It would allow NBs to effectively continue the thoughtless blocking.

That said: 10 seconds, even 20 seconds is pretty laughable for this type of passive effect. It won't be used, if only for requiring the time to activate it. I'd rather power attack for resources than use up a skill slot on this mess.

200% certainty that Nerfing Stamina Recovery to prevent Perma Blocking is done

No way to recover enough Stamina by Siphoning with high enough Stamina stats because we get fixed amounts

RIP the principle of a Siphoning Tank... but that is only collateral damage... The people on the streets wanted the perma block nerfed !!!

Given the "boost" to argonian passives, I fully expect the amount of resources returned for the 10 second siphoning strikes "buff" to be somewhere around 50 magicka/stamina per hit.
