    Oh my! I started playing 2 days after launch, and now i got vr 8, so you are telling me ill get to vr 16 before polar caps melt? That would be sweet.

    Well yes dissapointement is there too, but rather because you see a game that, because of huge budget and great franchize emphasizing freedom of actions, had a chance to walk off the beaten path. And here i am seeing as it takes the path of least resistance and people cheer it.

    How beautyful it could be!

    Someone dont want to fight - levels by crafting, kill list states 2 wolves and a doe on lvl 50. Having private workshop in instanced house, mastering crafts to the point that he can make set of items - all sets have to be crafted and the skill to do that is not easy to obtain. His friend prefer gore so gets him materials loot to deconstruct getting decent gear in return, etc. etc...

    But we get that warmed up "every mmo needs items progresion" bullcrap. Perhaps but it can be done wisely, or Z> way.

    The game is designed for people who play for very long hours. I do not mind a little grind but reaching VR14 and now VR 16 for someone like me who usually play an hour a day is not reasonable. I just want to PVP, and win or lose because of my skill not my VR level.

    With this companies track record they may as well just bump it up to Vet 500. This game is really starting to remind me of when I was younger playing Korean grindfest MMOS

    Say what you want, the best MMO I played was a Korean "grindfest", Ragnarok Online. Took forever to get to max level (99), but that's not the point, because there's more than enough to do along the way and the game doesn't lock you out of content because your level is too low, or keeps you in a narrow level bracket outside of which you won't get any rewards at all.
    If you want to kill bosses at level 50, have a go. And if you succeed, the gear won't be scaled to your level and be worthless once you get higher, it will always be valuable. And you want to level to actually get stronger and beat harder content, because you can't run through everything like a hot knife through butter.

    Good times. The likes of which we'll never see again.

    If there is no catch up point then the game is flawed. And yes i know that there is catch up point in eso - 3600 cp.

    That largely depends on how you are getting your XP.

    For me, the time will be substantially less, because i leveled all my VR characters through cyrodiil dailies, which will now give me 50% more XP, in addition to the VR's now being 15% cheaper to get.

    Not to mention i am doing those dailies anyway, for champion XP, so i will get those VRs 'free' - that is, i don't have to do anything i wouldn't be doing anyway, and the 2 veteran ranks will just 'happen' on the side.

    Are you sure? As far as ive hear its + 50% to veteran quests .

    This just seems like a bandaid solution to fill our time, in place of a lack of new content.

    It does seem kind of counter intuitive to implement given they want to remove vet ranks. My gut feel is that this task seems too difficult i.e. how do they deal with gear, how do they make a vr14/16 not lose out on their investment over a 1st time level 50 etc. They likely won't do it ever, but maybe I'm reading into it too much.

    Either way I'm not regearing for level 16 I just did 3x vr14s full kitted out in gold armor/weapons + vr14 jewel sets. I think I'll just level to vr16 and wait to see what direction they will take with VRs, gear, content and the game in general.

However, between the minor added curve even on the best scaling group, your relative gain from each set of points progressively gets significantly worse. Here is the info and some examples in a chart I made a few ago =):smile:

    oh my god....it's like they are trying to anger their customers. I was leveling slowly in this game (because i dont want to get past 50) while playing GW2 because I expect VR to be removed. Now I'm just gonna not play this game until I hear they remove it. Holy mother of god these people are both clueless and disrespectful (whether intentionally or not) to their playerbase.

    while interesting to see the diminishing return scaling it doesnt alter the fact that a grinder who has 100 cp's invested in the lines that buff his build is going to have 25% more damage, regen and resistance compared to a new v1 which is a bigger difference than vet ranks offer

    I thought Champion System was supposed to supersede the veteran ranks, we don't need or want extra vet levels, just new content.

    How about gear that can only be fitted at certain CP levels ??

    Fellow Gamers,

    Get a grip! It's a game!

    I personally like the idea of raising vet levels to 16. I have been dubious all along of the drum roll for abandoning vet levels as so much the game dynamic is tied to those levels -- power issues, gear, etc. Not to mention human nature! Most people need goals to aim for and level 50 for all with a basket full of cp to choose from probably will not meet that need.

    And yes, i just spent some loot on gear for my vet 14's but at least now i can play them again with a goal in mind.

    Enjoy the changes. We all get something and we all get dinged here and there. Fair enuff.

    yes but maxlvl is not the vr16 its championspoints 3600..
    so its just a itemreset...

    Yeah, ZOS never said they wouldn't raise the Vet Rank cap after V14, only that it'd be removed eventually.

    15% less to level each time, plus two new levels, sounds like its really about pacing and payoff...

    & to me it also feels like a conversion, getting it ready for whatever will replace VR.
