    If a year without new content wasnt long enough to remove VR then these "devs" never will. In before mass console exodus...so many lies from this company.

    Force weapon swap to have priority over EVERYTHING. Close enough.
    Make stamina builds even with magicka builds.
    Disable abilities while holding block.
    Give us a REASON to do dungeons more than once.
    Remove PVP AoE CAP. It is ruining Cyrodiil.
    Fix/Remove Forward Camps. They are ruining Cyrodiil.
    Impenetrability needs to REDUCE CRIT DAMAGE. Not negate entire builds.
    Werewolf is not equal to Vamps/Bats.

    I think we can accept VR is never going away, adding more ranks is only going to make things harder for them to rebalance everything after a removal.

    I feel if VR was ever going to get removed it would of happened before the console release, just I wish they would be honest about this instead of trying to spin it and make out that adding more ranks is just a stage towards removal when clearly this is not the case.

    I don't mind Veteran Ranks, but if we werent forced into repeating other factions and let it be completed by choice, then it wouldnt be so bad, but they do need a zone to allow you to get XP from vet 1-10 at least, so it feels fresh. Its not alt friendly otherwise.

    This is the first I've heard of the mention of Vet rank increase. Can i please have the link to where this was mentioned? Is it all official? Or speculation?

    Nah i think "the great news" we will recive on 13 will be that we are getting IC "for free". People will be cheering, white knights triumphantly charging from one end of the forums to the other, all will be forgotten about vr 16 and most importantly that the "free" IC was already paid with subs year ago.

    Correct. Like Jess said yesterday, the VR increase will come with Imperial City, which we'll begin discussing in detail on July 13th.

    Not sure if I'm remembering this correctly, but won't the Imperial City only be accessible to the faction that controls all 6 Red Ring Keeps, the other 2 alliances are locked out until they take the Red Ring? Or will it be accessible to all 3 alliances at all times?

    I hope it's the latter, if not I can't imaging we DC on NA getting in much :disappointed:

    People make the explanation that "Oh this is good because then we can grind gear again." Problem is, most of the gear you will be grinding is stuff you already have, just two levels higher..

    Furthermore, ESO, to me at least, is not a game centered around gear progression, but rather skill progression. Currently it is not the gear that makes you a better player, but rather your experience, gear only augments your abilities. If ESO was a generic gear progression game then people with the best gear in PvP would be strongest (to an extend) or pull the highest dps in PvE content. As it stands right now it is more about your reaction time, build and skill that matters in PvP, and in PvE it is more about rotation than gear sets.

    The reason why VR16 to me is a bad idea is because it might indicate the game going towards gear progression and then we'll see level cap increases every expansion to the game and new better gear to make you stronger. Further, they clearly stated multiple times that part of the Champion System was to remove the veteran ranks. To me ESO does not need more levels for you to grind, it needs content. Most people will play your expansions if they are fun, challenging and offer worthwhile rewards, you don't need a new max level to intice people to play something.

    A lot of people have never completed the Craglorn questline because they did not care, however much ZOS tries to nerf grinding spots that won't ever change. People will play whatever content they find interesting.

    Well, bummer...

    Hope they fix the Gold and silver so we can get to VR16 in there...

    Or many more folks will bail.. just like V1 caused many more to leave..., and was the reason for VR initially being set to be removed.

    Sigh, some folks refuse to learn from experience.

    we can argue about this. But it's coming to the game. And for people who didn't see this coming please rewind and listen to why they do this. It's not a flick of a swich to get vet ranks gone. We'll see if they ever manage it.
    Now for the sets only dropping in imp city, not so sure, they can update the undaunted chests as well, as the drops from trails etc. There will be changes to items as well, as told but not discussed yet.

    I say guys, sit down enjoy the ride and let's see how this turns out.

    The plan for removal of veteran ranks was announced 6 months ago, not a year ago.
    And the majority of dev time since then has been spent on the console release.

    Basically, so far they only had a month or so to work towards something else, be it VR removal or (more likely) Imperial city, Wrothgar, spellcrafting...

    Just ran through a few pubilc dungeon to check the current exp rate there.

    A 100% increase won't get public dungeon exp even close to overworld exp. This increase is absolutely pointless.
    If you are going to grind, you are going to do it where you get the best exp/time. If public dungeons are even a little behind the convential spots, nobody will go there. This change will contribute absolutely nothing to increase the leveling speed through veteran ranks.

    I have a few honest questions @ZOS_GinaBruno ,

    Weren't Veteran Ranks supposed to be phased out over time? Wasn't that the whole reason Champion Points were added to the game?

    I truly do not see a need / point to increase VRs at this time (or at all honestly). Adding new gear, yeah, that's normal for an MMO after X months, but a VR increase (even with the xp boosts getting added to leveling process) just seems to be a hindering force to the game's progression itself.

    Even with double exp, a full mob from a public dungeon will only yield as much exp as a single overworld zombie. It's simply no competition.

    With this companies track record they may as well just bump it up to Vet 500. This game is really starting to remind me of when I was younger playing Korean grindfest MMOS

    So are all good gridning spots and even with 100% buff, p. dungeon mobs still give less (substantialy) xp.

    Look i honestly think this all discussions leads to nowhere. Vr 16 are comming with IC either we like it or not. Getting to top lvl will take more or less the same amount of time either we like it or not. Buffs to xp have no substantial meaning ei.. well you know already.

    If we want to waste some time we can have discussion about potential new mount: Shock mare mount for limited time only. If you are curious Its exact origin is unknown, but the Mages Guild believes it may originally have come from Zekubar, the plane of origin of AC/DC.

    This is exactly what they are doing, basically a guised pay to win scheme. I bet their executives thought the players are too stupid to realize this.

    That's the funny thing: 14 million XP is currently 14 Vet Ranks. Under update 7, it'll be 16.4 Vet Ranks. (14 million / 850,000 = 16.470)
    Update 7 will actually get you to max level faster than currently :tongue:
